WHAT I LIKED:
I need a Lucas in my life. He was just so darn sweet and a gentleman. If his character wasn’t the way he is, this story would not have turn out so good for me. He saw Becca, and went after what he wanted. Also, it’s the way he pursued Becca that made you fall in love with him. Becca, I love her innocence. Her hurt didn’t allow her to trust and she took a chance. I love their courtship.
WHAT WAS SO SO:
Really have no issues.
SEXUAL CHEMISTRY
The build up of their mental and physical chemistry was appealing. The sex scene was ok and I like it.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
I didn’t not get to read April’s story yet, however, I like the friendship between Becca, Emery, April and Tara. It was great seeing Violet again, even if it isn’t for long. I am looking forward to Emery and Nash’s story.

I was trying to break a book slump. This wasn’t it for me. It was just okay, the pacing was slow and the story didn’t have much angst, which I sadly adore. Who wants to read 100 pages of two people making good adult decisions? I’m here for chaos.

Simple and lovely
I believe Hope Ford is the queen of no drama, I love so much how her books are very low on crazy acting characters. Like here, two simple persons, Becca who was hurt before and takes it all very sceptically, and Lucas who knows he wants a future with her and has the patience for it.
I liked how the story flew effortlessly, all nicely written with nice moments, and how naturally Lucas came looking for her, despite the distance, just because he wanted to be with her.

Quick(ish) Review
Cute and short but it suffers from lack of character development. I like that it’s not focused on a female character hating herself except for the love of a good guy and I deeply appreciate that though. The romance though fell a little flat becauee I didn’t quite buy into her feelings for Lucas. But hey if short and sweet is what you’re into you may enjoy more than I did.

Finding love on the rebound.
A fun short read. I really liked Lucas but for some reason didn’t fully connect with Becca. She wasn’t annoying and was written well, she just didn’t do anything for me. It was an okay read but won’t make it to my re-read shelf.

Becca was burned by an ex, so when she meets Lucas she is hesitant to get back into the dating game. Lucas sees Becca and is instantly smitten. She thinks he is a rebound.... But his game is the long run😉 A sweet and romantic story ,with sweet characters, without drama and with a great HEA😍😍😍😍 Lucas was such a sweet and compassionate guy❤️❤️❤️

This was a good story. Becca has just been dumped by her boyfriend after giving him her virginity. I mean immediately after. Becca feels dumb and humiliated and puts up big walls around her heart. She meets Lucas at a rodeo and both feel an instant connection but Becca is too bruised to act on it. Lucas knows that she was made for him and he will do anything to make her his, that includes being her rebound.

Becca was cheated on and hurt. Her friends took her to the rodeo where she met Lucas. He loved her as soon as he saw her! She tried not to be interested in him but he didn’t give up. He helped her heal and learn to love. He was never letting her go he just had to convince her he was telling the truth and his feeling were real. Sweet, steamy romance with a wonderful kind very protective hero and an amazing future ahead of them

Not as good as her previous book but a decent read. ***3.5 STARS***
This is the story of Becca and Lucas and is the next in the series of Whiskey Run and occurs after One Night Love. It’s the story of Becca whose boyfriend dumps her after taking her virginity and Lucas who wants to date her. I have liked Hope Ford’s short, sweet romances so far. This is also a short, sweet story with an Insta-Love like connection. So why give 3.5 stars you ask. I don’t exactly know but I liked it less than the other books. I think it’s because I didn’t really feel Lucas and Becca’s connection or the chemistry (we were told about it but I didn’t see it). The characters are nice individually, they just don’t seem to fit for me. Having said that I am sure most people would love this book and my experience is unlikely to be yours.

This book is part of the Whiskey Run: Sugar series and the main characters are Becca and Lucas. Becca works with her friends at the one and only bakery, the Sugar Glaze Bakery, in Whiskey Run. Emery is her boss and has a troubled relationship with Nash, her ex-husband who seems to still love her, but believes along with her other employees and friends, Tara and April, that Becca needs a rebound guy after her disastrous first ever sexual relationship. Her one month relationship ended after she gave herself to her then boyfriend and he walked out straight after he had finished, to go on a date! Not a nice guy and not a very ice reason to have slept with her. It has put her off being with anyone else or having any sort of relationship. All together, they travel to Whiskey Valley for a rodeo, but also to watch their friend April be proposed to by her boyfriend Matt! They have been very worried about Becca since her break up three months before and hoped this evening out would be a pick me up. When she catches a cowboy looking directly at her, she gets a bit of a shock, but imagines he isn’t really seeing her from that distance. In fact, he has been immediately smitten with her and goes to try and meet her when he sees her leaving her seat.
Becca unfortunately, is not quite as enamoured by this handsome stranger, Lucas, as he had hoped and he can tell something has happened in her past, for her to be this way. He isn’t one to give up easily and he visits the bakery the very next day, an hour’s drive away, just to see her and ask her out! He overhears her workmates talking about allowing him to be her rebound guy and he offers to be that for her, even though he wants more from her. Lucas is a well-known bull rider and is likely to win the championship competition being held shortly, but is far more interested in getting to know Becca. He asks what it is she is looking for in a man and she answers, the exact opposite of her ex and then lists the pointers she wants in a man. He has been raised by a proud mother who taught him how to treat women and respect them as well, so he is definitely the complete opposite to her ex! He has to caution himself to go slowly, she has put sex off the table, but he can hold her hand and kiss her as much as he wants. She is still totally lacking in self-confidence when he gets surrounded by other females, believing them to be more what he would want than her curvy body. But she is totally wrong! In fact, he is the one to get jealous when other men get too close to her, even if they are friends of Nash and Emery.
It was nice to see a man treating a woman properly and with great manners, even if they did eventually completely fall for each other and end up in a steamy sexual relationship. It was pretty inevitable and he was certainly the right man for her and not her ex. She thought they had agreed that he was just her rebound guy, but she starts to fall for him heavily and thinks it impossible that he could want to be with her long term. She has a lot to learn about love, sex and relationships and it all starts with finding a man who respects you and your choices and moves along at your pace. The ending gives readers a clue towards the next storyline and I for one, can’t wait to read it! If the town of Whiskey Run was real I would be moving there despite the fact that I'm happily married. Hope Ford has created a community of friends whose lives intertwine and I would love to be a part of it. On top of that, it sounds as though it is overflowing with very hot protective alpha males and a girl can always look right.
Her 2nd part of Whiskey Run: Sugar has that in the form of a rodeo cowboy who is sweet and protective perfect for someone who's been hurt before.
Loving this series of quick, inst-love stories in the small town of Whiskey Run. Look forward to the other girls in the bakery falling too.

Lucas overhears the girls talking in the bakery and he's willing to take whatever he can get... at least to start with. He doesn't want to be Becca's rebound but he doesn't want her to find another either.
While getting to know each other Becca starts to let her walls down and it's clear Lucas is nothing like her ex but she's not supposed to fall for the rebound guy. Love it!! I just couldn't put it down. Nice, quick read, Short and Sweet. With a wonderful HEA!!
Becca is in a bad relationship with Thomas, he's been cheating on her and doesn't treat her very well. Thomas takes her virginity and then breaks up with her, then goes on a date with someone else.
Becca meet Lucas when she is at the rodeo with her friends. Lucas sees Becca from across the way and can't stop staring at her. When Becca get up to go to the ladies room Lucas follows her to see where she goes. When Becca comes out she trips and falls, Lucas picks her up and starts carrying her back to her seat. Lucas is called to ride his bull, but tries to get Becca's phone number first. Becca doesn't give it to him. When Lucas is finished with his 8 second ride he finds Becca and points to her. Lucas tries to get to Becca but she disappears before he can. Lucas asks Becca friends to give him her phone number. When Becca gets home Lucas calls her. The next day Lucas shows up at the bakery she works at and takes her out to lunch. Lucas tells Becca he will be her Rebound Love, if thats what she wants. Lucas comes back to Whiskey Run a few times, then ask Becca to come spend the weekend with him. Lucas has a tournament and he would like Becca to be by his side. Becca takes him up on his offer and spends the weekend with him. Becca discovers she has feeling for Lucas and she wants to take thing further than a Rebound. Lucas tells Becca he's loved her since they meet, she feels it's too soon, only to discover she has the same feelings. Lucas tells Becca he is retiring and wants to spend the rest of his life with her by his side.

Becca had been crushed by the actions of her last boyfriend, so she had swore off men. She worked in the town bakery having a special relationship with the other women there. One of them was going to be getting engaged at the rodeo at a nearby town, and her soon to be fiance wanted them to all be there. On the way her boss was telling her, she should get herself a rodeo man for a rebound man and have a little fun. During the rodeo she thought she noticed this guy watching her, but he was really to far away to tell for sure so she checked him out just in case. He later rescued her after a fall returning her to her friends much to her chagrin. That was when they all learned who he was when he was called to be the next bullrider up Lucas Granger. Becca was about to learn not all men were created a like, as Lucas was an entirely different breed from her ex-boyfriend. Lucas never gave up on anything he wanted and he wanted Becca and she needed to learn she was number one in his life no matter what. He was more than the rebound guy. This was such a refreshing story. It would make you believe in love and romance with love at first sight. Lucas was a sweetheart and always a gentleman thinking of Becca and what she needed. This was the perfect story for anyone looking for some romance.

This is book two of the Whiskey Run: Sugar series each book can be read as a standalone but when I read the first book, I just knew I would grab the second one. Becca is trying to learn to live with the pain of a broken heart but she isn’t doing so well when she compares herself to her three best friends and yet she continues to allow them to drag her out on outing. Lucas sexy as all get out cowboy trying his best to get the little cuties attention, but oh boy is she making him work for just a smile, and he is offering to be her rebound guy to help her get over the loser ex. she has (but in reality, he is making sure he isn’t so forgettable 😊) although, that isn’t to hard for her just Becca isn’t yet ready. Luca shows her that he is a patient man he will wait however long it takes her to be ready to accept him for her he has nothing but time, along with her girlfriends (more like sisters) cheering them on. But will Becca ever be ready to open her heart up again after being hurt so badly, is Lucas to good to be true, and can they both have happiness on this path?

So much promise
Rebound Love is the second book in this Whiskey Run: Sugar series. This story is about Becca and Lucas. She had been unceremoniously dumped by her douchebag of a user and a loser boyfriend, and understandably regretted giving herself to him. Becca understandably had no intention of letting a man in for a while now, but when she spotted a hot cowboy across the way at her first-ever rodeo visit, there was an immediate attraction. And as Lucas caught her eye too, he was instantly smitten, and just had a feeling she was something special.
This was a really fun read. There was a lot of emotion and doubts, but also so much laughter, sweet moments, great friends, and plenty of delicious steamy passion. It was great to revisit all of her friends in this story. It really makes the setting seem like a familiar place. I did however feel like it ended too abruptly, but I know we’ll catch up with these characters again. So I’m already looking forward to reading about the (hopefully) second-chance romance between Emery and Nash. I give this book four and a half rodeo stars.

This book was good. I can’t deny that I really liked the meet-cute between this couple that was at the end of the previous book. I again just with that there was more to the story. I feel like there are not a lot of books with a plus-sized heroine and I just wanted to see the story fully fleshed out so that I could really connect with the characters and feel their connection to each other.

While the story was ok I found myself already rolling my eyes at the beginning, annoyed by Becca's so-called friends. You would think they would be more sensitive to Becca and not be telling her to go out and fund a rebound guy just to get some orgasms. Like seriously, the fuck is that? Becca was used for sex by her ex (not to mention he was also a cheater who treated her like crap) and telling her to go out and find another guy to fuck is wrong on so many levels. It honestly shows that the author doesn't understand a real situation like this because even if the author is trying to push girl power or whatever, a normal person going through what Becca went through wouldn't want anything to do with a man for the foreseeable future.
You'd also think that Becca wouldn't even be considering a rebound guy period but of course that goes out the window when Lucas says he can be her rebound. I know what the story is pushing, but at the same time if a guy was all too eager and pushy to go out with you after the whole ex thing, I'd be running out the door... but the fmcs in stories like these are always a little dim and it's honestly sad.
You'd also think that Becca wouldn't even be considering a rebound guy period but of course that goes out the window when Lucas says he can be her rebound. This is such a great story. Becca has been really hurt and her friends keep telling her she needs a rebound love. In comes Lucas a rodeo bull rider that takes one look at Becca and knows she is the one for him. Becca tells Lucas he can be her rebound love and there will be no sex between them. Even though Lucas wants more from Becca he agrees with her. Lucas just knows he is going to have to work a little harder to get Becca to believe he wants so much more from her. These two characters are great together. Lucas is doing everything in his power to prove that Becca is the one for him and she is having a hard time denying it. They have such great chemistry. This book is so good and I really enjoyed it. I love Hope Ford's Whiskey Run and Whiskey Valley series and if you have not read them then you need to start. These books are all great and every time I pick one up it is like all my book friends are right beside me. Loved it.

I feel the same way about all 4 stories in this series - each of which is so short that I read all 4 in an evening. They are wonderful beginnings, with characters that I liked and was interested in from the outset. But sadly that promising beginning really went nowhere. While the brief arc that we spend with each character does have a beginning (mostly good, hooked me), a middle (very brief, and with potential for way more complex exploration of why these individuals are not communicating clearly, understanding the ways they are acting out old patterns or gender roles, etc) and an end (perfunctory, and way too conveniently happy given the lack of work done by the characters either on themselves or as a couple), what I really found these to be is a great start to potential full length novels. There is so much potential here. I wanted so badly to be able to go forth and read their real stories.

This is book number 2 of the Whiskey Run: Sugar series and focuses on Lucas and Becca. Becca is having a hard time dealing with the aftereffects of her last relationship and how badly she was treated at the end. Her friends are trying to get her to find a rebound guy to help her get over her lying, cheating ex. Lucas is a bull rider that knows from first glance that Becca is the woman for him. He offers to be her rebound guy in an effort to win her over and to prove to her that she is perfect to him and how much he loves her. I absolutely love how great Lucas is to Becca and how he helps her heal all the broken parts that were left behind from her ex. This was an excellent addition to the series! I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

When their eyes met, sparks flew. Lucas tried to get Becca to go out with him but she ran away. Luckily her friends let Lucas know her information. He walks into the bakery to overhear the conversation that she should make him her rebound man. He tells her that he is willing to be her rebound man but he is also willing to be more. Becca agrees and Lucas teaches her how a real man treats the love of his life. Now Becca wants her rebound love to be her love for all time.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This book starts out with heartbreak that leads Becca to a real man. You cannot help but feel her emotions after her ex admits his betrayal. She could not imagine how Lucas would change her self worth and outlook on the future. He was a really good guy who did not want to give up Becca. He knew that she was his home and everything he needed. There is a little conflict but mainly his determination to show her what love is shines they. I liked the characters and wished there was more to their story. This book was good but it lacked something for me. I cannot put my finger on it exactly other than I wanted more. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. After a terrible 1st experience, she was done with men. Meeting, they couldn't take their eyes off one another. He tried, but she was fighting against it. Maybe as a rebound she could indulge in him a bit, but she was fooling only herself.
I felt so awful for her. And how strong was she, coping with something like that. I was so shocked that event even occurred, my goodness. He was such a good guy, perfect in every way and just the guy you'd bring home to your parents. A real man. Again, great chemistry and writing, a very believable couple. It just takes on glance at Becca to know that Lucas has found his woman and he is willing to anything to get and keep her besides him. Becca was hurt and is still trying to get over but she can't help but feel the undeniable pull towards Lucas. These two are really sweet together and while Becca tries to push Lucas away, Lucas is doing everything he can to pull her closer. I can't wait for Emery's book and the rest of the series. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it and Ms. Hope as a fantastic author.

Oh, what a story to heal a broken heart. Becca had believed her ex when he made promises and told her lies, after giving herself to him the truth turned ugly fast. Promising herself to never be in a relationship of lie, Becca guards her heart. After several months her friends believe she needs to get back out there, at least to help shake off the pain - rebound.
