Professional fighters don’t just hit the punching bag. They spar. They fight other men. Hitting a bag is only the first step of the long road to fighting in the octagon.
Almost all gun owners believe that owning guns, and shooting at the gun range, means they’re proficient in the art of gunfighting. They feel trained to face an opponent in their home or in the streets.
They are not.
Special Operations Forces (SOF) soldiers shoot tens of thousands of rounds at the shooting range, then move into the simulated force-on-force combat training, where they face thinking, moving and shooting opponents—men bent on “killing” them in training. That is where their battlefield dominance is born; in three-dimensional, heart-thumping, simulated gunfights.
In the military and SWAT, force-on-force, man-versus-man training employs expensive, restricted and often painful combat simulation Simunitions, UTMand MILES laser firearms. All of these have been virtually impossible for civilians to experience in the past. Now, inexpensive and even superior civilian counterparts are the XTAC Pro and airsoft firearm equivalents. A new world of home defense, concealed carry and even combat unit tactics, civilian options have exploded onto the scene just in time to meet the ammunition cost as supply crisis. Not only is force-on-force (FOF) training a huge extension of range training, it’s cheap, safe, and can be done in and around the home.
The truth is as simple as it is the more times you get in a gunfight, the better you will be at gunfighting. If you wish to be skillful and safe in an armed conflict, then do it dozens, or hundreds, of times. Pick apart your reactions. Tease out better options. Test yourself against other men. Master your home, your car, your concealed carry configuration.
Force-on-Force Self Defense Action Training Manual utilizes the In-Action Training methodology pioneered by the XTAC team of firearm Erik Anderson (18 year, US Navy SEAL), Jeff Kirkham (28 year US Army Special Forces,) and Jason Ross, firearms instructor. Combined with a non-lethal, non-projectile firearm simulation system, this manual combines with video and in-person instruction to take firearm self-defense forward in quantum leaps over the static shooting range.
