"Like a devil, you’ve drawn a blessing from a curse."

A clash of realities unleashes a demonic horde never seen before. A wayward demon-slayer gathers his House and searches for his missing wife, waging a war against kings and gang bosses along the way. The series finale of the Demon in Exile saga delivers on all counts.

The Demon in Exile Series offers a fast-paced mix of paranormal fantasy and military fantasy. It’s a clever blend of pain-filled action and twisted drama in a series where the characters are as strong as they are flawed and striving to keep their own fragile humanity intact.

Let's binge together.

Good ending with most loose ends being tied up.
I will miss this cast of characters.

A fitting ending

This is the glorious conclusion to the saga of Vigil Storm. It all makes sense in the end. That’s exactly the way I like it. Books that don’t tie up loose ends just annoy me. One thing worried me all the way through the book I was afraid the author would let it happen, but it didn’t. And that’s a very good thing, for Ara and all the people he loves. But I’m not gonna tell you.

I was also very puzzled as to how a part-demon was going to deal with his difficult side. This all worked out very satisfactorily but not without a lot of blood and hair-raising adventure!

Wow, just wow. This volume really pulled everything in the previous volumes together in a way that shows the costs and aftermath of a world war, in blood, social upheaval and in appreciation of the things which truly matter. It is unfortunate that there are so many who want to play petty politics but I really like how the author has the heart winning over royal opportunism. Here's hoping that the peace will last! I recommend this series to fans of Jason Anspach or Chris Bunch who may want to try military epic fantasy instead of military science fiction.

The resolutions seemed a little… flat

Each resolution with the monarchs went the exact same way, so much so that the final resolution, which had been a major storyline through multiple books was resolved in about 4 pages. Somehow, I felt a little disappointed. Overall still a great series, but deserving of more pages.

Excellent Series

Great writing through out all of the books. Excellent character development across all the storylines. Twists, turns, violence and love combine for an excellent series.
