The Blue Cord

Rate this book
In today's politically charged culture, focused on finding yourself rather than finding truth, Christian women have been withdrawing from conversations about faith - especially across cultures. Even though they might be canceled or socially shunned for sharing their beliefs, the world needs Christian women to speak up-it needs them to be confident and boldly proclaim the truth to the dying world around them.

The Apostle Paul delivered a similar message to his protégé Timothy in 2 Timothy 1:7: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

Join author Karen Bejjani as she seeks to change the way Christian women think and act regarding sharing their biblical faith across cultures and explores how to take an active role in sharing the hope of Jesus with their neighbors.

I highly recommend this book for anyone walking with Jesus!

Often we hear about peace sharing their faiths in faraway lands but today, especially in America, the people from far off lands are coming to us. This book will challenge you to share your faith with people from all backgrounds in order that they might hear the good news of salvation. If we're being honest many of us feel under qualified and scared to reach out to women of other faiths. The Blue Cord gives you real life examples of women sharing their faith and equips you with tools as well.

I participated in a study of this book and it was a great experience! This book is easy to read and gives great insight! I highly encourage that you read this so that you can be emboldened to tell others about the love of Jesus Christ our LORD!

Congratulations to Author Karen Bejjani on the publication of this great book! I know the author very well: our boys were in Boy Scouts together, we went to the same church, she and her husband (Renod) spoke at my Perspectives class, and I support iHOPE Ministries they co-founded in 2011.

So, all that being said - I might be a bit biased but know that this book will give you a very tangible and relatable way of sharing the gospel with others using the the Five Fundamentals:
1) Love, in words, actions, and deeds.
2) Look for a "person of peace".
3) Pray with them, in Jesus' name.
4) Share the gospel, early and often.
5) Share the Bible.

These fundamentals are very similar to what was shared in Renod's book published in 2019, "Muslims: 5 Biblical Essentials Every Christian Must Know and Do".

Karen shares biblical principles plus stories from her own life and others' experiences in her call to action as we move from our comfort zone and embrace the discomfort zone to ultimately experience the joy zone. There are "Think It Through" questions at the end of each chapter that can be used in group discussions or for journaling. I especially appreciated Karen's writing style that is very personable, encouraging, and motivating.

I loved this book! It’s engaging and practical and has helped me replace fears about sharing my faith with a focused assurance in the Lord. My favorite part is that the author gives numerous, specific examples of what it looks like to lovingly engage women of other faiths. I also enjoy her conversational style that feels like talking with a good friend or mentor who both challenges and encourages you. It will move you out of your comfort zone in a good way! It’s a book I’ll keep referring to. Highly recommend!

This was a very easy read and hard to put down. It was both Biblically truthfully and kind. It’s absolutely needed and I’d recommend it to all Christians. It explains the reasons for and basics of sharing the Gospel, not in a foreign country, but right here in the US. Hoping that it makes an impact on the church and the culture.

The Blue Cord is a must read for women who feel called to share their faith with others - but haven’t for a variety of reasons. The stories are relatable and the steps are practical. This is an easy read and I was encouraged a great deal. I am now much more aware of opportunities to talk about my faith with women I encounter.

God gave his people a physical reminder of his commands by having them add a tassel with a chord of blue on the hem of their garments (Numbers 15:37-41)

"the blue chord symbolized his divine commands that they serve a holy, living God. And that their God left instructions for how to remember and trust him."

In this study, Karen Bejjani shares her faith story and how Christian women can learn to share the story of Jesus with Muslims, and any other faith group. It is convicting and humbling to see her share this plan of action and the many stories of those who are actively pursuing this ministry. It has helped me to consider my own apprehension regarding this subject and to face that fear with God's help and leading.
