Sometimes the key to everything… Is trusting each other, even when it’s difficult. Marcy’s Tea Room owner, Laney Powers, is excited to accept an award from a prestigious magazine, and is too distracted by running her now-booming business to be nervous about her upcoming interview. Before the reporter and his photographer arrive in her charming new hometown of Iberden, Vermont, one of the tearoom’s elderly patrons is discovered dead in the rose garden. As if Laney didn’t have enough fires to put out, she also discovers that there are questions about the full ownership of the tearoom.
With the clock ticking, an investigation in full swing, and Laney worrying about losing everything that she and her late grandmother built, the reporter arrives, bringing with him a mysterious object and more questions than answers.
Can she solve the crime and save the tearoom? Grab a cup of tea and snuggle in to find out in this delightful Culinary Cozy Mystery!
Summer Prescott is well-known in the Cozy Mystery realm, having written and published several Best-Sellers in the genre. An avid reader of Thrillers, Horror and Suspense, the author has decided to follow her passion with the debut of her Thriller, The Quiet Type, which launched in the top 50 of the Serial Killer category on Amazon. The novel has received high praise in its reviews, and Summer is considering a possible trilogy or series to continue the story.
Wow what a wonderful addition to a great series! The characters are dynamic and the personalities lead you to question what their real agenda is. The storyline was well written (with this author it always is) which is no surprise. The mystery is well plotted with little misdirections that will have you questioning what will happen next throughout the book.
Lanny is thrilled! The tea shop is doing really well. So we'll in fact that it has received an award. She's due to be interviewed for an article about the business but before that happens a customer dies in the garden. Lanny is determined to find out if the death is murder.
This was a nice conclusion for this trilogy. I'd guessed at the end by the way it wrapped that it was probably the last book, but the author herself confirmed it was the third book of the trilogy. (Maybe I missed that memo originally.) I really enjoyed the key characters and would definitely read about them again if the author ever decided to write a standalone about them.
I was totally surprised at whodunit this time having strongly suspected someone else all along. Everything worked out great with Laney able to continue her Grandma Marcy's legacy. This is the perfect little series to binge on KU.
Laney is about to do an interview at her tea shop after receiving a prestigious award but is too nervous to enjoy the moment as she hopes things go well. But an elderly patron ends up dead before the reporter and photographer arrives.
Throw in the possibility of losing ownership as well and Laney will be occupied. Once again she’ll have a lot on her plate as she figures out what is going on before more tea is spilled. Fast paced read.
I really enjoy the characters. The plots are excellent. My problem is that there are too few clues buried in the plot and the stories are super short. When the writer evolves I think she will be excellent. She just needs red herrings and clues.
I adored this series. These are very short reads/listens but packed with all the mystery. There’s even enough detail to get to know the characters and build relationships.
I love tea shop mysteries and I recommend this one if you do as well.
Fast paced, and funny as well, along with characters you will look forward to seeing again. Now, I just have to wait for book 4!
Beautifully written story with great characters. Love the original tea room setting, makes me want to find one to visit. I look forward to reading more in this series.
I adore this series. I was totally surprised but who the killer was. I just didn't want to believe it so had convinced myself it was one of two other possibilities. Can't wait for book 4.
This was a fun book, what's happening Kept me guessing I have always been very fond of hi T. And I'm sad that there is none up here. The characters were fun to watch, read about. Ended the way it should
I love cozy mysteries but this was a sugar overdose. Far too cutesy and treacly. My teeth were aching after a couple of chapters. Good thing this is very short.
Laney is worried that the tearoom may be taken from her and she is out to prove that wrong and keep her grandma's legacy thriving.
Another great series by Summer Prescott. None of her books/series will disappoint you. She writes well and keeps you drawn into the stories and keeps you guessing til the end.
