Ten years ago, a group of men murdered my mother and thought they had killed me. I’ve spent every day since planning revenge against the man behind the attack—my father. As the head of a powerful crime family, he won’t be an easy target, but nothing matters more than making him pay for what he’s done.
Now, I return in disguise, only to end up on the radar of the Quad—the four most dangerous men in the city…men I’ve been desperately in love with since I was a teen. I have no idea if they were in on the plan to have me killed, but I can’t stop myself from craving their taste, their bodies and their rough, domineering touches. Even though I know the risks, I keep falling deeper into our twisted relationship.
My plan is simple—find and get rid of the people who carried out the attack, kill my father…and don’t fall in love with the men who might have betrayed me.
This world already killed me once—let it try again.
Reader advisory: This book contains scenes of murder, attempted murder, and violence. It includes a morally gray heroine.
Jayce Carter lives in Southern California with her husband and two spawns. She originally wanted to take over the world but realized that would require wearing pants. This led her to choosing writing, a completely pants-free occupation. She has a fear of heights yet rock climbs for fun and enjoys making up excuses for not going out and socializing.
What's the first rule of committing a murder? Making sure the target is really DEAD!!!! 10 years ago Kelsey suffered a horrible ordeal. The man she knew as her father put a hit out on her and her mother. At 17 years of age the girl formerly known as Kelsey DIED only to be resurrected as Nemesis or aka "Nem"
Nem is a different type of heroine. Smart, Beautiful, Sexy, Cold, Detached, Angry, Vengeful and above all else SAVAGE!!! Over the last 10 years Nem has been planning her revenge on everyone responsible for her mother's death and her attempted murder. Leading to her end goal of eliminating her father Kyler, destroying everything he has ever built and saving her younger sister McKenzie from his clutches.
Growing up Nem and her sister McKenzie were surrounded by 4 Bodyguards known as the QUAD. Four ruthless, savage killers in their own right who so happen to still be employed by the man who she use to remember as her father. Nem has always carried a torch for these four men but they always rejected her advances. Bray, Dane, Colton and Rune are closer than brothers. These men will lay down their lives for one another. They share everything including women so it was no surprise that they were interested in sharing and claiming Nem the new savage spitefire who was hired by their boss to handle a few Real Estate transactions. The only thing that made them keep their distance before was: 1. She was young and had a bright future ahead of her and 2. They lived dangerous lives.
Right now these men have no idea who Nem truly is. They have no idea that she is the 17 year old girl they lost 10 years ago and still blame themselves for not being there to save her. Under Nem's secret identity she reconnects with the QUAD and find herself deviating from her agenda. The QUAD doesn't understand what is drawing them to their new co-worker but they can't stay away from her although they know she is hiding something. The possessive urge to share, claim and protect grows stronger everyday.
This story pulls at all of your emotions. Reading about Nem's experience after that fateful night makes you sad, mad and downright angry. Her vengeance is justified. As Nem goes down her Hit List there is one thing that is troubling her. The night of her death The QUAD was nowhere to be found. They swore to protect her and keep her safe. So why on the day she needed them most; they were nowhere to be found? As passions continue to build and ignite between Nem and The QUAD she begins to wonder if she is getting in over her head because once the truth is out and her identity is revealed there are only two possible outcomes. The QUAD will either kill her or she will kill them regardless of the intense feelings they all share.
This book ends on a Cliffhanger and I cannot WAIT to read what happens next.

Plot ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice 🌶️🌶️ Vibes 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 1st person POV - Nem
I think I enjoyed Nem's vibes and attitude the most about this book. She reminds me of Lana Myers from the Mindf*ck series in that she was basically killed 10 years ago (though no rape like Lana so I'm going to be honest, it didn't hit as hard as Lana's story did - which really isn't saying that much because Lana's story is just fucking tragic and not much could be compared to it honestly) and disappeared to recover, train, and build a plan of revenge. Except in this story, 4 of her suspects are her old bodyguards who she is trying to determine whether or not they betrayed her. However, while the tension between them was hot, each of the men were indistinguishable from each other. I couldn't even tell you their names. They all felt like the same character, just split into 4 pieces. BUT the few group scenes we got were so fucking hot and the buildup of them finding out who she was, was done well.
That said - how tf did they not recognize her? Maybe I missed it & she briefly mentioned plastic surgery to change her face or something... but she has silver eyes which are pretty unique and they spent years together before she "died" so how did it take them so long? Either way though, the vibes were there and this was an enjoyable story and I'm very excited for book 2.
So good! Ok, I really loved this one. I love strong fmc who's been through traumatic sh8t, and come back swinging. Nem is down right vicious. She's had 10 years to plan her revenge, and although she runs into the men she once obsessed over, it doesn't stop her from doing what she has to, and making the ppl who hurt her pay. Calculated, brutal, aloof and down right sexy are just a few things I love about our H, and I can't wait to see what will happen with her and the quad.
This is the first book I've read from this author, and it definitely won't be my last. I devoured this book! I loved everything about this story. It was amazing and I can't wait for the next book in this series. I loved the characters, the suspense, betrayal, revenge, survival, steamy scenes, reunion and more. I'm so excited to read what happens next and I hope the next book releases soon. I'm excited to see what Dane, Rune, Bray and Colton does after finally getting the truth about what Kyler actually set up because he deserves what he gets and in the worst possible ways. This story not only left me excited for the next book but excited to check out other books from this author. This story ends with a cliffhanger, but I will definitely be recommending this book to my book loving friends.
I can honestly say that I've never read a book like The Corpse Princess before, and goddamn did I enjoy it! There was nothing about this story I didn't like (well except for the ending, I really hope April and the second book gets here in a hurry). from the cover to the characters and plot this was an A++ read from the start all the way till the very end. This story was raunchy as hell, and I am here for it. I really enjoyed Nem; she is one strong a** b**tch, taking her revenge by killing each and every person involved in her Mother's murder and her attempted murder one by one. Add in the Quad: Rune, Colton, Dane, and Bray (as the sexy bodyguards who may or may not have had something to do with that night ten years ago), and you have yourself one very smutty, steamy reverse harem situation that will leave you hot and bothered. I can already see that this is going to be one of my best books of the year; if you like smutty romance at all, then you need to pick this book up now!

This was a phenomenal, punchy, morally grey little book just like our heroine Nem.
Ten years ago, everyone she thought she could trust betrayed her. They all believe she died. Because she did.
Nem is back with names on her tongue, a blade in her hand and vengeance in her heart. Or she would, if her heart still worked. She’s basically dead inside now, preferring to remain cold and unfeeling. Perhaps that’s not right either. It is just what she is. She’d prefer to feel ANYTHING. But she’s cold and calculated, deadly. Until she crosses paths with THEM. She’s not sure if they betrayed her back then too. But one way or the other, they failed her.
The only question is if they’ll pay the price the rest of the names on her list do too.
⭐️ Plot: 5/5 🌶️ Spice: 4/5 📖 Genre: reverse harem 🏞️ Setting: Her home town 🗣️ POV: Multiple 🛏️ Tropes:
- Childhood friends - enemies to lovers - Deadly FMC - she can save herself - revenge is dish best served cold - Close knit group of MMC’s - girls rule, boys drool. (I dunno, I just made that up but it fits) - Forced Proximity -MF/MFM/MMFMM
I love how unapologetic and “I don’t give a fuck” Nem is. She’s realistic- not because she’s had 5 mins of training and can now suddenly shoot like a pro marksman! (Don’t you hate it when that happens!?) but because she’s trained for 10 years.
She knows not to take on guys hand to hand because they will likely win. She’s not superhuman. Just really smart, good at what she does, and ruthless to achieve her goals.
Her sense of humour is as dry as the Sahara. She takes no shit. And she’s my new hero. Oh. She’s also 27 - not some teenager.
The steam is phenomenal. Again, she totally owns her body and her choices. She’s not embarrassed or repentant about anything.
The plot is clever and intriguing.
All in all, I loved it so much I stayed up till 4am to finish it, all in one day.
This was just average for me. The MC was a jaded Tough Girl™️ stereotype, and the harem members weren't particularly interesting either. The narration was very tell instead of show, so the combination of the heavy exposition and borderline over-the-top cynicism of the MC meant the narration reminded me of the voice-over in a black and white movie about a private detective (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...). The plot was alright, but I spent the whole book waiting for the harem to discover their connection to the MC, and then that was the cliffhanger. 😑 Thankfully, the first chapter of book 2 was included as an excerpt at the end of this book, so that soothed the cliffhanger ache. Despite all that, I'll almost definitely read book 2 since we're finally focusing on the part of book 1 that was most interesting to me.
OMG! What a great series so far. This book had me hooked from the very first chapter. Nem went through so much as a seventeen year old and now she is out for revenge against her father who arranged to have her and her mother killed. She barely made it out alive but lost her mother and now wants to save her younger sister who is still with her dad. She starts working for her father, while in disguise, and runs into the four guys she used to have a crush on, who also work for her father, named the 'Quad'. She gets closer to them while she's trying to put her plan into motion for her father, and things between the five get hot and steamy. When she kills the man who shot her in the chest she realizes suddenly, that the 'Quad' have found out who she really is. This book was so exciting and steamy, I was completely hooked. I can't wait until the next story comes out. I gotta get it.

10 years ago Kelsey and her mother died only Kelsey didnt stay dead. Now shes reincarnated and has resurfaced as New looking for revenge from those who were to blame. The only complication comes in the form of her childhood friends - Bray, Colton, Dane and Rune who are now The Quad. A dangerous problem and one that she doesnt know if she can trust or not? If they will stop her from getting what shes owed. Dark, violent, bloody and steamy as hell. It was so flaming good! Bring on book 2
For a confident badass out for revenge, Nem sure does make a lot of stupid mistakes. Repeatedly. Her idiocy, along with that of the other characters, comprises about 60% of the book. The other 40% consists of over-the-top dramatics and edginess. She reveals her identity at the very end of the book, but the moment lacks the weight it deserves as the basis of the book. It comes off as a poor attempt at a cliffhanger.
A decade ago, Nem lost her mother and her old life to bullets and fire. Now, she's back with a new identity and is being driven by her need for revenge on the people who set her life ablaze and the hope of being reunited with her younger sister.
She runs into 4 of her old crushes (the Quad) and the lines of business and pleasure instantly start to blur. She isn't completely sure they weren't involved in the plot to end her life but she can't seem to stay away from them either.
The insta-lust is STRONG in these 5. There's more than one reference to how strongly they feel an unexplainable pull towards each other. She has that "I can sleep with them and feel nothing but wait, I feel everything" thing going on. It's mild enough that it doesn't totally ruin the build for me.
Nem sets up a fake threat to eliminate a target but that leads to everyone thinking she needs protection and lands her in a forced proximity sort of situation with the Quad. This leads to super smut.
The main villian and #1 on her revenge list starts to show a different side of himself than she knew as a child to her over time. Is he on to her and pulling her closer? Does he regret the things he had done to her and her mother? Is he...interested...in her?
After hearing the plans he has for her sisters future, Nem, taking on heaps of guilt, shakes off her guards and gets wasted. While in this state, she veers off of her original plan and hits the 2nd to last guy on her kill list. This turns out to be a huge moment because as she reveals her true identity to the soon to be dead man, the Quad overhears her.
The book does end on that as a cliffhanger but the next book has already been released and contains the ending of the story so goodbye cliffy anxiety.
Few pin pointies before I go: 📌Multi-POV 🌶MF/MFM, strong smut, alpha type males in bed 📌Insta-lust 🌶Breeding kink (I see you, Rune!)
I’ve read a book by this author before this one and let me state that “A Corpse Princess,” is nothing like the other book. I say that in a good way because I now know it will not be the last book I read from Jayce.
When author’s say they wrote a strong FMC, the female normally needs some kind of saving but not this FMC. Nem doesn’t wait around for a man to come to her rescue, she saves herself. I could honestly not put this book down. It was really good with an action packed, fast paced plot.
The story follows the taste for revenge and betrayal. Ten years ago a group of men were sent to kill a mother and her teenage daughter; Kelsey. Everyone believed it was a hit by another criminal boss in an attempt to kill Kyler Williams, Kelsey’s father. But Kelsey knew the truth, her father was the one who set the hit on them. Burning all the evidence to the ground along with Kelsey.
Little do they know that Kelsey died that night and resurrected. Nem (Nemesis) was born in her place. If you are going to send one to hit a target, make sure they do it properly. Nem spent the last ten years training and making a plan to take down everyone who had a part to play in the death of her mother and her own “first” death. She’s smart, strong, independent, driven, detached, vengeful, skilled, sexy/beautiful, cunning, and most of all savage. She takes no prisoners.
Nem sets her plan for revenge into play until she’s confronted by something, not a who, more like 4 individuals from her past. That might pose more of a distraction and possible threat to her and her plans. The Quad consists of Colton, Dane, Bray, and Rune. The work for her father, his weapons. They used to be in charge of her security when she was younger, when she was still Kelsey. Nem can’t not ignore them, that teenage crush was still there and boy does it get steamy. A very hot RH (reverse harem). But she can’t trust them, she doesn’t know if they were involved with what happened that night 10 years ago. If they get in her way, she won’t hesitate removing them from her path, but she’ll enjoy getting what she wants from them in the meanwhile.
The Quad are a force, no one dares get in their way. Yet they know this new woman with fiery red hair is lying and can’t be trusted. Nonetheless, they can help the possessive and need for her. They feel connected to her in some way. But they all silently still ache over the loss of Kelsey. What will they do if they find out Kelsey is Nem?
Can not wait for book 2!!! I need to own this book in physical form. Jayce Carter did an amazing job.
I received a free copy of this book via booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Kelsey’s life ended when she was seventeen years old. Now twenty-seven, Nem is determined to put right those who did her and her mother wrong. If she can just accomplish that without her old bodyguards figuring out who she is, that would be great.
As the story moves along, we find out more about Nem’s past and her relationship with the Quad. Their role in what happened is not answered, but it doesn’t look like they had anything to do with it. How they got played when they’re supposed to be the best, I don’t yet know. I’m hoping it will say in the next book.
The four men are all very different and there is never any confusion over which one is speaking or thinking. Their ways of dealing with Nem, however, are pretty much the same, so expect some heat.
The one thing that got me throughout is her eyes. It is mentioned how different they are; how only her father shares them with her. And yet, even though they were like family, no one in the Quad has noticed Nem’s eyes. Don’t get me wrong – I know people can change in ten years, and she’s dyed her hair, etc., but you can’t change your eyes without putting in contacts, of which there is no mention.
This is not a romance in the typically used meaning of the word. It’s about sex, ownership, and vengeance. So, if you are expecting fluffy kittens and rainbows, this is not for you. If you want a raw, gritty, steamy, and action-packed story then I have no hesitation in recommending it to you.
Ten years ago this female died emotionally and like a phoenix rose again from the ashes. Through careful planning and alot of stewing, Nem has managed to rid the world of some of those responsible for the death of her mother. The main guy is now her new boss but this is necessary to get closer. Her main issues seem to be the four she grew up loving, they are his protectors and won't think twice about killing her. Even after they all become intimate, she knows it changes little. She has never felt so alive with these men but her mission is the most important thing.
I loved this story and this incredibly strong female is a force to be reckoned with. Nem is able to react how she must and manipulate situations in order to benefit her main goal. It has a mafia type feel to it and I knew this would be my cup of tea instantly. Jayce Carter is an exceptional author who always pours her soul into her creations it seems. This book was so addictive that I feel as if I need another fix in order to survive. The adrenaline is crazy and I loved the way these four quickly seem to fall to her charms. Though they are the toughest in this world it is obvious to see there is a longing within them all. I was so fascinated by their reactions towards the loss of their former charge. A wonderfully written action packed book that also contains a twisted kind of romance. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed the story but the characters kinda fell flat. The plot of this book, captivated me. I found myself routing for Nem wanting to know if she would receive her revenge and how she would deal with the Quad. The author dropped clues at just the right time and strung me along with little teases.
I loved Nem how she was a bad a** b*tch (excuse the lang) and made no qualms about being one. She was able to bust the Quads erhm you know and give them tit for tat. Yet even with her attitude I found the characters a bit one dimensional. The Quad was overly alpha and possessive which made them a bit cliché. While Nem was this really good character her thirst for revenge kind of stunted her. We see her begin to grow but then regress, it’s a weird yo-yo effect.
The plot and story of this book is what got me. It’s extremely well done; the writing is top notch. I was pulled into Nem’s world from the first page and just wanted to keep reading. I wanted to know everything. And it’s intense. The intrigue, the action and even the intimacy, it’s all intense. The cliffhanger ending had me searching out book 2 to see when it would be out.
I recevied a copy of this book via Goddess Fish Book Tours and the author.
I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is going to be a story of darkness, strength and passion. Kelsey, Rune, Dane, Bray and Colton all knew each other before she was killed a decade ago. They worked for her father, who put out the hit. These four were supposed to be protecting her but they either failed or were just following orders. There has been plenty of time since that day for regret, mourning and guilt but not by her. She has made careful plans, years in the making. She used to have feelings for the four, but Nem is not like that young girl that Kelsey used to be. She will use them however she sees fit. Everything is going as planned until feelings surface. This story will take you on a continuous emotional roller coaster ride. The heartbreak, betrayal, strength and vengeance alone had me wondering what would come on the next page. Once she reconnected with the Quad things took another complicated turn. This book is not for the faint of heart. It will not conclude until the following book, so be prepared. . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
When hitmen are sent to kill her mother and Kelsey, everyone thinks it's another organization that set up the hit. But Kelsey knows, it was her father and she survives the attempt, unknown to the world. She comes back 10 years later as Nemesis or Nem for short. She is smarter, stronger, more driven, out for vengeance, a skilled assassin, beautiful, hot, and brutally savage. The person on the top of her Hitlist is her father. As a teenager 4 men, known as the QUAD were her bodyguards, Colton, Dane, Bray, and Rune. But on the night she needed them most, they weren't there. Although she doesn't fully trust them, the five of them have intense chemistry and are explosive together. If she finds out they betrayed her, she will kill them, without hesitation, but until then, she will enjoy using them for her pleasure. They know she is hiding something, but are still attarcted to her. Book 2 cant come out soon enough!! This book is intense, fast paced, action packed, full of twists, and turns, steam and much more. Best of all both books are available to read for free with your Kindle Unlimited subscription. I received an ARC from Booksprout and this is my honest review.
It’s a hard one to rate, to be decisive about. With everything I feel the ‘but’. The story is solid but.. there’s a lot of ‘i died’-repetition that’s really not necessary. There’s a lot happening, what makes it interesting to read on, but… waiting for the guys to get to the program takes away the feeling of progress.
I also keep wondering, how can someone change thát much in 10 years, that only a change of hair color can deceive the undeceivable?! In the beginning of the story it is written that Nem has distinctive eye color, I was wondering if she would be wearing contacts to cover it up, but it has never been said. I’ve changed a lot in 10 years, but I would be recognizable if I changed the color of my hair, even by people who weren’t in that close contact as Nem and the guys. 🤷🏻♀️
I was relieved the first chapter of book #2 was a part of book #1. I felt unreasonably frustrated by the cliffhanger. I’m not sure if I will read the second book. I’m of a mind it will get pretty predictable from now on and I’d like my time to spend otherwise.
This is the first book by this author that I've read and it won't be the last! What an amazing writer.
First off, I have to say the cover is absolutely gorgeous and the reason why I picked the book, and I'm so glad I did it.
This is the first book of a duet, a story about betrayal, revenge and a lot of unfinished business. Nem is probably one of the strongest heroines I've ever read and I loved it. Revenge is her drive, but you can't blame her when death knocks at her door at a very young age and she has to experience betrayal from the ones who should have protected her in the first place.
The storyline is very original and spot on, a real rollercoaster. I devoured this book, it's a page turner that keeps you wondering and yep! it ends in a cliffhanger, but I just can't wait to get my hands on the second book asap!
Highly recommended for dark romance lovers, who also enjoy a very steamy RH and applaud strong heroines. Get your copy now, you wont regret it!
This quote taken from the book says it all! "Karma is a bitch—but then again, so am I."
I tore thru The Corpse Princess in almost a single sitting as it revealed Nem's past story and her present day self. She is broken and even after all these years in alot of pain. We shift from her point of view to members from "the quad" who are four men who Nem trusted and was in love with back when she felt she could trust them. She has no clue if they were in on what happened to her and it's killing her being so close to them now and still not knowing but she can't reveal who she is to them yet.
I loved the non stop action and heated scenes and craved more. Even the bad guys I almost pitied as Nem plucked them off one by one because she was a woman scorned and on a mission and be damned who got in her way!
If you love stories with strong kickass females or a good revenge tale then don't miss out on this!
—>>> Between the Nem and the four men she used to know in her youth, the trust is paper thin. Nem’s comprehensive plan of revenge is being activated one name at a time. And she does not know what the Quad’s hand in the whole tragic event was which had caused her to lose her family. She has nothing else but revenge on her soul as she slowly infiltrates their hearts and the lair of her most pivotal prey - her stepfather.
“She was tough, smart, f@#king gorgeous and vicious—everything I could possibly want in a woman. And entirely off-limits.”~ Dane
The men are intrigued by their boss’ new hire and do not hesitate to make her jump hoop after hoop, trying to get into her head. And if they only knew the absolute mad horror of a mess she had survived that fateful day, they would get an inkling of her steel will and strength.
A great setup for what is to come, I am certain, and I cannot wait to see what happens next.
What an excellent read as It had a great amount of suspenseful twists throughout the story to understand all the cold hard emotions Nim has after her resurrection. After being away for so many years with some planning, Nim comes back to seek vengeance on those who killed her and in doing so she meets the quad men again with whom she was close with when she was a teen. The quad consist of Bray, Colton, Dane, and Rune. Each man is alluring in his own way and when they meet Nim for the first time, they sense that she isn’t who she says she is. The relationship that progresses now between these five are ridiculously steamy that they definitely burn between the pages. After finishing the book I couldn’t get enough of the story and now I’m just impatiently waiting for the next one.

What a story this was to read, my gosh. I absolutely loved the whole revenge, murders theme, and i have to say its not usually my go to. But Jayce Carter has really done justice to this story. From the start to the end, meeting the quad once more because she loved them once. Now i cant wait till the next book comes out to see what happens next. One young women survived against all odds. She was meant to be dead, but now years later she has learned who put the hit out on them. She is now out for revenge, one by one she will kill those responsible, and leave the one most important person to the very last. But the other thing she must do is find and protect her sister.
Honestly you really dont want to miss the first book in this two part book, it really is thrilling.. So much more worth than the five star rating that i have given this so far.
This is my first time reading anything by Jayce Carter, and I was not disappointed. Nem is the FMC, she is a badass, she has so many layers to her and she takes no prisoners. The Quad are some sexy, brooding and deadly men.
This book had me gripped from page one, Nem's past and how she has spent the last ten years is what makes her the kind of woman she is in the present. She has a plan, she knows what she wants and she goes for it full throttle. I loved all the details and intricacies of what make Nem like this.
As for the guys, better known as the Quad. They all have a history together, they are closer than friends or even brothers and a past incident is about to catch up to them and they have no idea its coming.
This is highly recommended by myself and I cannot wait for book 2

*This is me at the moment: leaning with my back against the seat, looking up at the ceiling while fanning myself, still reeling from the awesomeness of everything I just read.* I should be able to rate it six stars...
I don't believe I can write a review that will really do justice to this book. It rarely happens that I'm blown away by a contemporary reverse harem, but this book has it all: a vengeful fmc looking for justice and revenge, unapologetic and without any qualms along the way. Four hot guys who provide plenty of spicy scenes, but who still hold tight to secrets and unanswered questions. It has action, a fast paced plot, family drama, strong connections between the men (without MM), multiple POV, ... I could probably go on for days, but than you would just lose time reading my review while you should just read the book!
Absolutely loved this story!! Nem (Kelsey) is an absolutely fabulous FMC. She has been through so much and is trying to avenge something terrible that happened to her in the Past. The problem is the 4 guys who she is now entwined with. They are from her past and she was in love with them when she was a teenager. Now She is grown up, they are older and she is finding herself attracted to them all over again but she just does not know if she can trust them at all. The ending of the book packed a punch and left me wanting sooooo much more. I can not wait for the next book in this series!! Another Jayce Carter Series that does not disappoint!

This book is amazing. I usually shy away from cliffhangers but I have loved EVERY Jayce Carter book I've read. The characters bring you right into their world. Their hurt and anger, their distrust and hatred. You can't help but hold on tight for the ride. Nem is a broken yet incredibly strong woman on a mission. She's amazing. The book is mostly from her POV but that works as it doesn't give away whether the men can be trusted or not until close to the end. It ends at a good place that leaves you needing to know what happens next but doesn't drop in the middle of a scene. Definitely a must read. I can't wait until the next one is out.. Nem (formerly Kelsey) is after some revenge, she has been training hard, and spent time setting things up so she can get those she owes. Although she is unsure if that will include the 4 sexy killers who are known as the Quad, but she wants to avoid gaining their attention. Or does she? I loved the intrigue, drama and the steamy story that drags you in. Nem is one strong, tough woman, who I couldn't help but love. I loved learning the backstory, and I loved Rune, Dane, Bray and Colton (but I don't yet have a favourite one). I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
She was ready for revenge but she wasn’t ready for them. Even after 10 years, their connection is too strong for her to deny. Nem has every reason to be vengeful and after her fathers betrayal, I don’t blame her for being cold and savage. But when she meets up with the quad again, Dane, Rune, Bray and Colton raise long forgotten feelings that Nem thought were long gone. As their story evolves she still struggles with their role in the murder plot, their intense connection and what that all means now. I cannot wait for the next book to find out. . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Such a different take from what I thought when I read about the book, in a good way, but totally different. Nem is nothing more/nothing less than a badass bithch from the word go. Taking the crap sandwich that is now her life and making a plan to make it better. I think she should have talked to the quad regarding at least part of it, they probably have more information than she thinks. Who is Kenz supposed to be getting married to and why isn't the quad involved with her at all if they were with her when this all took place? Well after the cliffhanger time to find out the rest of how it all comes together.
