Jonahmae Pacala (publishing as Jonaxx) was never fond of reading longnovels during her elementary years but found a deep connection with sshort sad stories. She discovered her flair for writing at the early age of ten. What was once a hobby has now grown into a passion for writing online.
kahit noong on going pa to, 5 stars na agad sakin kasi bias ko si azi sa montefalco's eh but now after reading the end of their story and the end of the series, i feel a sense of happiness for all of them.
i was 11 when i started reading until he was gone (the first book of the series), doon nag simula ang pagkahulog ko sa pagbabasa at sa mga libro. doon din ako nag simulang magka gusto ng mga kagustuhan ng mga montefalco. bonding with cousins, living in a big city, having a big circle, drinking, and partying.
now im almost 21, a decade has passed and i've already experienced all the things that the montefalco's did. they were my first influencers and i know they're not perfect, they made bad decisions but i still love them. kahit puros kabulastugan lang sila, may matutunan ka pa rin naman.
im going to miss the montefalco's so much. i've waited for azi's story for 10 years now and i can't believe it has now come to an end.
mahal na mahal ko kayo montefalco's, i will miss the chaotic bondings, the drama's, the partying, and of course the warmth. it has been a pleasure growing up with you guys. you all are so dear to me. even after this series ends, your stories are buried deep in my heart.
to jonaxx – ate j, thank you for creating this masterpiece. thank you for sharing the lives of the montefalco's with us. mahal na mahal kita! 💘
11 yo heaven, signing off with the montefalco's with love 💗
'My family is the family who choose me. It's Azrael. I will choose him, and our future children. I will love them unconditionally. That is my promise. I know, he promised me too. I feel safe with him.'
everything must come to an end, and one of my favorite series, the one that shaped my teenage years, has finally reached its closing chapter. i honestly do not know where to start because i am emotional just typing this. this story has been such a long journey for me, from reading the first book of the trilogy when i was 12 to now reading the final book at 21. to get over you turned me into an emotional wreck there is something surreal about growing up alongside a series and realizing that this part of your life is now complete.
reading this book felt weird in a good way because i could not believe i waited this long to finally read one of my favorite character’s stories. i loved that the story started with their childhood because we got to see the montefalcos young, goofy, and carefree, and we got to witness how azi met the love of his life. there were a lot of time skips that made my reading experience feel a little off at times, but it never ruined the story for me since it was not messy. i think it felt heavier because i cried almost every chapter after realizing that azi, who i always saw as sunshine and humor, carried so many quiet struggles. his feelings about being a middle child and always feeling like a second option hit harder than i expected, and that alone made the story deeply emotional for me.
as expected from a montefalco story, a lot happened. it was chaotic, dramatic, full of parties, serious moments, and perfectly timed humor, and azi’s internal monologue never failed to make me laugh even when i was crying. but what i loved most about this book was niklas agape, my shayla, my bungisngis baby. despite growing up without a family or parental love, she turned out kind, empathetic, strong, and full of warmth. she is sporty, beautiful, and laughs so easily when she is with azi, and their dynamic was such a joy to read. their contrast made their relationship even better.
and lastly, i finally got to read nikka’s pov. tbh, it did feel a bit rushed, and it was obvious that jonaxx wanted to wrap the story up as soon as possible. still, i enjoyed it so much because i finally got to see things through her eyes. reading about the first time they met and getting glimpses of their married life, even if it was only a few scenes. it wasn’t perfect or expansive, but it was enough to make me smile and feel that sense of closure. i guess this is really it.
ps. as told bys, you will forever be my multo.
final (?) ranking under the series:
until trilogy - 5⭐ to fall again - 5⭐ to be with you - 4.25⭐ to get over you - 4.25⭐ to stay - 4.25⭐
4.75 i think azrael is right. there are different kinds of love that can easily be felt and received, but romantic love should always be the feeling that is rare, conditional, and never earned.

📕THOUGHTS:
The Montefalco Series ends with the most anticipated story of all, Azrael Ian Montefalco the third.
I never expected Azi, who was known as carefree, hard-headed, charismatic, and a certified playboy, to turn out to be a man who loves only once, dates to marry, and loves with so much patience. His character completely shattered the image readers had built of him, in the best way possible. His story carries so much emotional weight: family drama, misunderstandings, and a slow but meaningful journey toward self-growth, love and healing. His relationship with Niklas, who once hated him, was painful, realistic, and deeply meaningful. I loved how real Azi’s struggles felt — being the middle child, constantly compared, misunderstood on campus, and doubted when it came to his ability to love sincerely.
Niklas was just as impressive— independent, emotionally strong, and beautifully written. Her character development from being revengeful to finding love after heartbreaks matched Azi’s in a way that felt natural and earned.
Jonaxx balanced the heartbreak with humor so well that I didn’t know whether to cry or laugh. I also admired how the Montefalco cousins were shown with flaws, even becoming villains in Azi’s love story, which made everything feel more mature, irrational yet valid and honest.
Reading the final chapter made me emotional. I waited for this series for years, and while it hurts to see it end, I’m grateful for the beautiful journey. Jonaxx indeed gave us an ending that doesn’t just close a story — it makes you crave more. ✧ 𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘦: 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘴 𝘮𝘺 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘴 𝘥𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴. —Sarahlovesthepages 💋
I love azi so much. Kumbaga siya ang icing sa ibabaw ng cupcake ko hshshs. Kidding aside, I never thought that this series would be finished. 2017 self me wouldn't believe that her bias in montefalco is already married to his love of his life. Parang dati nanghuhula kung anong name ng jgirl niya, parang dati, umiiyak pa siya kasi ang daming hint ni ate j na made-deads siya. Looking back, this series had so much impact on me. There are no stories that could replace this in my place in my heart. Iba talaga yung bonding. yung way ng pagsulat. iba yung Montefalco.
bakit nga ba mahal kita? Kahit 'di pinapansin ang damdamin ko 'Di mo man ako mahal, ito pa rin ako Nagmamahal nang tapat sa 'yo
Azrael Ian Montefalco III’s character development is one of the book’s highlighted plots. His emotional intelligence and growth make him truly endearing, especially as a former playboy experiencing genuine love for the first time. His long-standing yearning for Niklas adds depth and emotional weight to his character.
Niklas Agape Salvador is a powerful and inspiring female lead. She was neglect by her own biological parents yet driven by resilience, her independence from her younger days up to her current character and she also has emotional strength that stand outs. Her enduring feelings for Azrael and her self-realization made her character even more better.
saks lang, maganda character development ni azi kasi ang red flag tlg e lala HAHAHAH syempre yung character nila is a product of its time kaya problematic tlg silang magpipinasan, pero dito mas makikita mo talaga na ang problematic ng pananaw nila sa buhay 😭 out of touch sa reality ba + sobrang galit sila kay nikka, kung anu-ano pa sinasabi nila like ayaw makinig sa explanation ni azi, kung ano sa tingin nila tama yun na nasa isip nila hindi na pwede mabago.
jossrei still the best montafalco couple!! 🍓💘 grabe support nila kay nikka at azi aaaah
junami wala na ba tlg pag-asa magkaroon ng story si rafael at tati 😭🙏🏻
this would come off as a very biased review but I'VE BEEN DREADING AZI'S STORY FOR YEARS !! since highschool raaahhh !!
it doesn't help that he has been my fave montefalco back then and reading this book somehow proved that i literally have a type; FUNNY GUYS!!
+ i love love nikka sm, she's so cool jesus and their dynamic is such a breath of fresh air to me. grumpy x sunshine trope (azi being such a jgirl) :p
my first book of the year haha i'm under a slump that's why i always go back to jonah to push myself to read just like the old days, and it works, always! :)
I personally didn’t feel much chemistry between the characters, tho that’s just my personal take. The story leaned more toward family-related conflicts, which I didn’t mind, but it wasn’t what I was hoping for romance-wise. I still pushed through and finished the book because I’ve been anticipating Azrael’s story for a long time (he’s my favorite Montefalco👉👈) tho I did enjoy watching his character growth
u have no idea how this frustrated me... and not in a good way. i am this 👌🏼 close to dnf-ing it but i'm too stubborn to quit lol. it got better in the last 10 chapters i think? but for a book that's supposed to conclude a beloved series, this just wasn't it. i forgave azi for being a self-centered jerk and his cousins for giving me headaches because they refused to listen to him.
loved the shotgun wedding, though. only his dad was invited, and he didn’t even know it was happening 😜

It was so painful reading this book. I expected something more in Azi’s story and was really looking forward to it. It saddens me that this is the last installment of the Montefalco series. Will definitely miss them, most especially the laughter and the chaos. 💜
super bitin ng pov ni Niklas huhu im looking foward to her pov the most kaso sayang one chap lang. i love this dynamic kase mas babygirl si azi dito. will forver miss mseries, this is literally the only jonaxx series na sinubaybayan ko talaga
my stress reliever !! the conflicts by the last chapters were rushed and were all over the place plus the pacing was off at times but i’m willing to overlook all of it because nikkazi SERVED and their dynamics was buzzy as hell. one of the best couples that this author created idc! (tho she shouldve added more of their moments as a couple 3)
My teenage self couldn’t inagine that it took so many years to reach this final destination of the Montefalco cousin’s stories. I feel so sad and happy at the same time. I’m gonna miss you all so much.
The amount of times I laughed in this book is both priceless and endless. I absolutely love Azi’s humor. Maong in love kaayo si Niklas niya.
Waiting for the physical books para maka-read og special chapters nila. 🥹
