I really enjoyed this manhwa. I liked the game parts but I can't wait to read more about our chef's real life.

noting this as an entry for 115 chapters + epilogue.

the author apparently could not see any possible relationships beyond that of a reproductive, melodramatic relationship between a parent and child for the majority of the manhwa, which sadly seems to be the manhwa standard. I'm happy to have seen pleasant exceptions in manhwa and webnovels elsewhere.

the story moves from multiple parents and children side quests in the game to something not that different in real life, and this ridiculousness is only mentioned once in the game, which made me suprised of the self-awareness, which was more of a passing remark and perhaps not as self-aware as I expected.

missing important relationships aside, the only real-life villain was a caricature who turns from one extreme to the other. i must admit that the only part of the story that made me finish it was the protagonist, both rice and lee rim and his growth in his recovery as well as a slow return to his profession and watching him cook with all the graphics (despite me being a vegetarian) his cat mio and finally ha-yeong who still managed to disappoint me in the end, which i won't spoil.

This was so wholesome!! I couldn't have cared less about the battles (especially at the end), but their story was full of angst and warmth.
Yes, the main character was Lee Rim, but the rest did stand out too and the ending was so beautiful!
My favourite parts were when they met IRL and they got to tell their stories.

This was so good! I almost read it in 1 day.

<season one ends at chapter 48>

The story is progressing pretty well and the art is so so so good.

The best thing about this imo is the characters (and the food, don't forget about the food). I love how the people irl and in game seem to tune together so well, and it almost feels like the world is extremely small with how a few people around "Rice" somehow also appear around Lee Rim irl too.

With all the plots that I can see unfolding in the next season that is surely going to be amazing as well, the art also plays a big factor in how this was so fun of a manhwa to read. I rarely see any shounen cooking/food manhwas with this kind of art style and I absolutely love it.

Hope season two comes soon tho-
