Known as the most stubborn and troublemaker daughter of the De Avila family, nothing stops Socorro from pursuing her dreams and passion for writing. Despite living in the 19th century, she believes women can also do great things like men. Being the next daughter to be sent off to an arranged marriage like her older sisters, she's now determined to create her destiny and break every single custom of what a woman was taught to do. She earns money by writing love letters as a ghostwriter. Everything seems to work according to her plan until she meets a young nobleman who can catch her lies and make her feel the love she thought only exists in books.

I have always admired Bb. Mia for beautifully narrating the story, places, and characters in her books while doing them justice. This was the first book I read from her that ended happily. Socorro and Cristobal's happy ending satisfied me so much!
Characters like Socorro always made me feel empowered as a young woman myself.
The romance? Chef's kiss! I won't say much to avoid spoilers, but I love how Socorro and Cristobal developed as chapters went by.
Socorro speaks a lot about equality, faith, and love in family and romance. I learned a lot from this book-from standing up for what is right and daring to initiate changes in society for human rights to truly valuing the comfort of love from siblings and parents.
This book remarkably made its way as my top 2 favorite Bb. Mia book! (2nd to "Segunda", Socorro's sister is the main character of this book and is a part of the De Avila series)
Bb. Mia never hits and misses! I'm so glad this book had a happy ending. I was kicking my feet and all because of how it gave me so many feelings, and a life lesson. Ate Mia has always incorporated the touch of reality with such lovely and warming words.
The plot twist was amazing, and the genuine romance brought me back to when I started reading Ate Mia's works in 2020. I hope she'll attend MIBF again so I can get my books signed.
I was able to read this in 2 days (I stayed up late for it). Her work never fails to make me feel happy. I hope this gets published soon! I want to buy na agad 🥺🫶
Fictional Philippine historical romance has always been my first love.
I will always love you Cristobal & Socorro. I'll read you again when I can.
See you soon Segunda :> ❤️🔥

after a long time, I finally finished another wattpad story! this one had been sitting on my tbr for so long because, DUH, it's binibining mia — papaiyakin lang ako n'yan! HAHAHA but luckily, I got bored and decided to read it, and it did NOT disappoint.
for the first time ever, I survived a binibining mia epilogue tear-free (a rare flex, tbh) asdfghjkl . the ending had me on edge, though—I really thought we weren’t getting that endgame. pero grabe, chef’s kiss sa execution! Socorro and Cristobal, you will forever have a place in my hart 💗🫶🏻
One of the best books I have read on wattpad so far!!! 😭😭 I’m not even kidding. Parang nasa book na rin ako mismo dahil sa imaginations ko na galing rin sa details!! Gawd. I can’t even describe the emotions I felt.
I love this book!! the reason why I rated it 4 stars lang kasi nasaktan din ako na 8 years bago nagkaroon ng continuation yung love story nila HAHAHA knowing binibining mia kinabahan din ako baka hindi sila magkatuluyan
this made me want to continue reading the next book in the installment, but hopefully it would not take me 2 years to finish it. yes, it took my 2 years to finish this book. it took me a while to get used to reading malalim and pure tagalog again. BUT 4 ⭐️ kasi may angst and duh, philippine history.
