You think you’re struggling to find your place in the universe?
Consider poor old Colin Douglass, a terminally ill insurance agent who awakens from centuries in cryogenic freeze to find Earth is a devastated wasteland. Now, he’s being pursued by a homicidal interstellar tourist board, and calculating insurance dividends is as outdated as making stone axes.
Sci-fi-hating technophobe Colin embarks on a desperate struggle to find a cure for his illness, as well as a place for himself in this strange new galaxy where toilets talk back, and door handles are a long-forgotten relic. Only by teaming up with his rescuer, hard-boiled, space-traveling archaeologist Tyresa Jak (that’s Doctor Jak to you), can Colin hope to succeed before time runs out.
Along the way, this galactic odd-couple must evade the Erd Tourist Board - a powerful mega-corporation which will do anything to ensure the mythical Earth stays mythical - and deal with a crackpot religious cult who not only possess a cure for Colin’s illness, but who also believe there is more to this caveman from Earth than meets the eye....

I have been reading SciFi for over sixty Years. This was the most fun, had me in stiches every minute I read this Series. Took me all but twelf hour. SUPERB WRITING. A must for any SciFi fan.
I enjoyed this series quite a bit. The writing is well done and I found books 1 and 2 refreshing and inventive. Book 3 started with a premise pretty much lifted from an old Star Trek episode and wasn't as much fun but was worth wading through to get to the last 1/3 of the book. I found the ending fun and worth getting to. A note to folks reading this on kindle: the footnotes in the books are entertaining and worth following. Be aware that in the middle of the second book, once you go to the footnote section it's impossible to get back to the story without restarting the read from the beginning and fast forwarding yourself to where you left off.
Here are 3 books in this bundle in which starts out with a character who needs to go into a medical hibernation, so that he can be woke up in the future to cure him. The characters in these books are quite likeable and the author writes with such humor that reminds us of TV shows and movies in the past that we've watched. Somewhat predictable but funny also there's good plot and good stories.
Beecher simply had fun writing this. In places it's just plain silly. The first two actually stand separate from the third, being only tangentially related. Several of the the characters are simply inept bumpkins and I could not help but think of the movie, "Despicable Me" with the minions, and even for those who identify, "Curious George". This story also works out well in the end and everyone makes the world a better place.
I was dubious when I read that the author was likened to Douglas Adams. After reading the books I can say it definitely has English humour and is funny a lot of the time, so if you like a bit of fun Sci-Fi you should give it a whirl.
