He kissed me, soft at first, then deeper. I forgot there was anyone else in the world, let alone on the same beach.
“Do you realize that tonight’s the first time you’ve said that to me since the night of the accident?”
“Said what?”
“I love you.”
Wait. No. That’s not possible. Is it? I struggled to remember another time. Tanner had said it to me a bunch. Have I really not said it back? Ever? My heart sank into my stomach. I hadn’t. I’d thought it eight million times a day, but I hadn’t said it out loud.
“I’m sorry.” My voice cracked. “I’ve loved you every fucking second since then. I didn’t know I wasn’t saying it. I didn’t realize.”
“How can you not realize something like that?”

"I'm not like your family, Collin. I don't want to take things on faith or assume anything. You need to tell me what you're feeling.
Not just now - all the time. I don't want to guess and find out later I was totally off base."

confidentNow that Tanner and Collin have recovered from their impactful auto accident, have been in a three months relationship that no one really knows about, it's time for work and some fun time too (winking). School is on break and summer is being spent on Fire Island where being gay and out as easy as breathing air which is liberating. Even though FI is freeing, Collin has never been in an environment where being open and gay can so easily be expressed and often times feels uncomfortable with PDAs.

Plenty of guys flirted with him too. Somehow that didn't bother me as much. I knew he was happy with me. Or I thought he was. But women had things to offer that I simply didn't possess. Things I knew he still liked. That made me nervous as fuck, especially when I could tell there were so many women willing to give him those things at a moment’s notice if he showed any interest
"We're going have to learn to trust each other more." ..."And you're gonna have to get better at telling me how you feel. About everything." ... And please, for the love of God, will you realize that other people find you attractive?"I will continue to follow this series and look forward to book 3, Moment Of Clarity to see the progresses in Tanner & Collin's relationship, see what unpleasantness Maggie causes, and to see how Collin and his brother, Sean relationship develops. Moment of Truth gets 3.5 stars upgraded to 4 for being an engaging read about moments of truths, secrets revealed, and friendships tested.
