The future of the world is at stake as a battle to the death ensues between Batman and Hal Jordan! Will the vampiric Green Lantern be too much for the Dark Knight? Will the future of humanity be in the hands of…Jayna, vampire slayer? The bloody, bestselling series continues!
Prior to his first professional work, Tynion was a student of Scott Snyder's at Sarah Lawrence College. A few years later, he worked as for Vertigo as Fables editor Shelly Bond's intern. In late 2011, with DC deciding to give Batman (written by Snyder) a back up feature, Tynion was brought in by request of Snyder to script the back ups he had plotted. Tynion would later do the same with the Batman Annual #1, which was also co-plotted by Snyder. Beginning in September 2012, with DC's 0 issue month for the New 52, Tynion will be writing Talon, with art by Guillem March. In early 2013 it was announced that he'd take over writing duties for Red Hood and the Outlaws in April.
Tynion is also currently one of the writers in a rotating team in the weekly Batman Eternal series.
Guess it is always going to be the unpowered humans who lead the fight in these things.
In the DCeased storyline, DC killed off Batman too soon, but many of the heroes that fought back were the lesser powered characters. Now we have Batman (and Bat family) and Green Arrow leading the fight. Green Lantern and Wonder Woman have been turned and now? Of course, Superman has to be turned as well or the fight would be over too soon.
I am liking this series almost as much as I loved the DCeased stories. The art is something else. Only thing keeping this from being a 5-star review.
This was definitely the weakest issue so far in this series for me. It didn’t really feel like much happened here and it honestly just did more to confuse me than anything. One big fight that didn’t really lead to anything. It’s unfortunate because I love this run but hey, sometimes you get a weak issue and that’s ok!
I'm still having fun. Bruce was just a little too paranoid here which might not have been the best thing tbh. The art was split into two styles too, which was weird. I enjoyed both styles, but they were very different. There was less humour in this issue as well (though Harley was pretty cute/funny). I did not expect to love this, but I love this.
We're nearly halfway through this story and it feels like it's spinning its wheels while trying to set-up stuff for the future. This issue has a big battle and introduces Task Force X into the mix, yet it feels like set-up for future issues. I was onboard for this story, and I hope stuff picks up in future issues.
Green Arrow (GA) and Batman (B) have to take on vampire Wonder Woman (WW) and vampire Green Lantern (GL)! Things are going from bad to worse; but B and GA have to try to fight their way out now to fight another day. The situation is only going to get worse - looks like the big 'S' might be WW next victim!
Decent enough story for this title, but inconsistent art was jarring. The Task Force X scenes are gorgeous in drawing and colors while the rest is crude and has dark lettering on dark backgrounds in places that's hard to read. The battle in the Batcave is confusing, but entertaining nonetheless.
I'm continuing to love this series. In this issue, Ollie is my favorite. I love his one-sided banter with the ever-serious Bruce. You know the "body count"? Well, in this case, the "vampire count" continues to grow. Let's see who remains...not biting by issue 12...
No seriously, I was having a hard time reading this at one point because the coloring was so dark. It also felt like there was a lot of empty space in some of the panels. The content was okay but the end was kind of a sucker punch.
This is a fight issue. Batman uses several different creative ways to fight the vamp members of the Justice League. it's fun but really doesn't do a whole lot to advance the overall story.
Why did they switch artist every couple of pages? I really disliked that. Also it's Simone Di Meo's works and I don't like his colouring/style, so that was unfortunate for me.
Green Arrow and Batman have teamed up versus Wonder Woman and Green Lantern. When it comes down to it, though, does Ollie have it in him to shoot his friend in the heart? Will reason prevail, or will tempers, fangs, and blood fly?
Things aren't looking good for the humans, but there are issues left yet...
