A love story born in darkness, bathed in blood, and sealed with the king's searing kiss...
There is a little girl who's been hurt, lied to and manipulated her whole life. She believes she will never see the outside of the orphanage she's kept in. Until she meets the tall, handsome boy who promises to get her out of hell. He opens the gates and holds out his hand to save her. She takes his hand and steps into the light with him. A silent tear runs down her cheeks as she follows him into a brighter future. The girl knows that taking his hand means signing the boy's death sentence. My name is Ivette, and I'm the reason this boy is going to die.
The Orphan Prince is the FREE prequel following Ivette and Xander. Their story continues in The Ruthless King.

This prequel had an interesting premise, but I was being told everything and shown very little, so I was disconnected from the characters despite their circumstances.
Interested in seeing how the full-length novels turn out, I’m sure it’ll help with smoothing out the pacing and diving more into the characters personalities.
Four "omg am I really starting another series?!" stars ☆☆☆☆
This is a prequel novella to a new series by Isabella Starling and Kendall Hawkins. It's a dark mafia, stalker, enemies to lovers, forbidden, touch her and die novella. But this is only the beginning...
Xander's mother dies so he and his brother are brought to the orphanage. All he wants in life is to become a kingpin and be rich and powerful. Ivette on the other hand, is a girl who's being abused by her stepfather. Her mother dies under suspicious circumstances and because she won't submit to her stepdad, she's brought to the orphanage as well. Under the condition that the second she submits, she'll be taken home with him. She doesn't want that so she's withdrawn into herself and isn't speaking at all.
"She has monochrome eyes. Gray, like I always thought humans were. Except for me. I’m not a shade of grey. I’m pitch black, with not a flicker of light."
Xander is obsessed with the girl who doesn't speak. He calls her "queen bee" and tries to befriend her at every opportunity. He eventually finds out that her stepfather has been abusing her and wants to help her that much more.
"Perhaps something beautiful will grow out of this friendship just like her peonies did. Maybe someday we’ll be friends. But for now, we’re just two strangers caught in the same nightmare."
One day, an old man asks Ivette if she has any friends that are boys at the orphanage because he wants to adopt one. Even though she doesn't want to lose him, she points out Xander. She tells him (by writing out in the dirt) that he's being adopted and he's so excited... but he doesn't want to let her go.
That's when she whispers the first words she's said in a long time- "Kiss me."
“You’ve never been prettier than with my hands around your throat.”
Xander is soon betrayed by his own brother. There's an underground fighting ring at the orphanage (???) that they fight at some nights. His brother tells him to go fight one night. He goes, but there's no fight. He comes back to find his brother gone... he took his place with Xander's new adoptive family.
I really enjoyed this prequel novella and I'm so excited for the rest of the series!! The main characters ages aren't stated, but I believe they both are almost 18. One thing I didn't quite understand is the underground fighting ring... is that even possible at an orphanage? Either way, this was a heart-pounding read.
Length: 59 pages
safety: SA of a teenager (not by H) no OM/OW no cheating/sharing to be continued ♡
Now we get to see how Xander and Ivette’s story began. This pair meets in the orphanage and quickly become attached. Ivette’s story is tragic already and I just know it will get much worse. I can’t wait for more!
The Orphan Prince by Kendall Hawkins and Isabella Starling. This is the Prequel to the new series Mobster's Kingdom. This is starts the story of Xavier and Xander who are brother left as Orphans. Xavier was in the "Kingpin’s Property” Series. This book is a novella / Prequel setting the ground floor for this new series. I can't wait for more.
'The Orphan Prince' is the prequel to Isabella Starling & Kendall Hawkins' newest series, "Mobster's Kingdom". It's a quick read with a powerful punch. Xavier and his brother Xander had lost their mother, leaving them orphans that now reside at Meadows Hills Orphanage. Ivette is currently a resident at the orphanage as well. Her mother had just passed and this seems to be her step-father's form of punishment until he gets what he wants. The circumstances and trials these three children have gone through are tremendous but when the ultimate betrayal hits Xavier my heart freezes. There is such a real feel of forbidding that came from this prequel that makes me excited and nervous for 'The Ruthless King'. My inner adrenaline junkie is in a high state of anticipation to see what happens next.

After reading Xander and Ivettes prequel I can’t wait for the series! Ivette is placed in the orphanage for not giving in to what her step father wants and when she befriends Xander they are both happy to have found someone to confide in, even though his brother is there Ivette fills another void until she doesn’t
This is a prequel to this new series in a dark mafia world. We see how these characters were shaped from the beginning. First we meet two brothers, Xavier and Xander, who are orphans. They are placed in Meadows Hill orphanage. They know they are too old to be adopted. So they make the best of things until they age out. Then one day a new girl is brought in kicking and screaming. Literally. Ivette Ramos is an orphan, of sorts. Her mother died from an overdose. But not before marrying Enrique Hernandez. He is a bad man. He has had his eye on Ivette from the start. And when she refuses to fulfill her mother’s marital services he places her in the orphanage until she submits. So she refuses to speak. Xander is intrigued. He befriends her with his kindness. He discovers what has happened to her and vows to help her somehow. They develop a budding romance. But when he is about to be adopted he is torn. But his brother tricks him and takes his place. This is the beginning of their saga of a struggle to survive. I can’t wait for more.
This is the prequel to a brand new series. Xander and his brother find themselves in a orphanage when their mother dies. He has goals I. Life Become a kingpin and be rich and powerful. Ivette is a girl who is being abused by her stepfather. She too has lost her mother and since she won’t submit to the evil man she finds herself in the same orphanage. her stepfather is willing to take her back the second she submits but she is now so withdrawn she is not speaking at all. Xander is immediately drawn to his queen bee and tries to get her to talk to him every chance he gets. However when a man comes to the orphanage these two will be separated because she points out Xander as her firnd and he adopts him. He of course is so excited and she is overwhelmed and excited for him she finally speaks! however he is soon betrayed by his brother in the rosy way possible and things will never be the same. I really loved this prequel and am so exited to see what the first full book brings us.
I love the background story of the two brothers Xavier and Xander it explains a lot about the secrets Xavier has been hiding in the series "Kingpin’s Property”. This is a prequel to a new series coming soon. This is about two brothers and, a Cain and Able story of betrayal at its worst when Xander was left behind in the orphanage after his brother Xavier tricks him and takes off with his adoptive family for himself. The only saving grace was he the girl he has befriends Ivette, who doesn’t talk or say very much except to him, everyone at the orphanage calls her loco, crazy. He finds out she’s the stepdaughter of one of the most influential kingpins in the city Enrique Gonzalez. I can’t wait for the story to begin to see where this leads in the “Mobster’s Kingdom” series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I loved this book it was awesome, the story was written well and the characters were sensational. Xander and his older brother were sent to an Orphanage Meadow Hills after their mother died. Ivette was sent to the same Orphanage Meadow Hills by the stepfather after her mother died, she does not talk ever since the time she shot him so his retaliation might have been horrible. When Xander heard a commotion he went to see what was going on, when he seen her he was so mesmerised her grey eyes and her dark hair. Xander gives her comfort but when the stepfather comes in to see her she is scared, he is known for his killings since he is with the Cartel, as long as she stays at the Orphanage with Xander she feels safe and loved.

When I started reading this it was impossible to put down. I read it in one sitting. The pain and suffering of the children were so relatable. It touched my heart. The children had to deal with becoming orphans and no family left to care for them. Or they were not wanted. Or it was safer for the child to be in the orphanage in place of where they were. Also, one of the children suffered the most excruciating betrayal at the end. I hope he grows up and gets his revenge. I really look forward to the book. It is well worth the wait.

THE ORPHAN PRINCE is the prequel to the Mobster’s Kingdom series setting the stage for the series by explaining how Xander and his brother Xavier wind up in the Meadow Hills orphanage as young teens. It is here Xander and Xavier become separated and Xander meets the young Ivette, put in the orphanage by her stepfather to coerce her.
The writing is done very well and the ending has me anxiously awaiting the first book in the series. I received this prequel from the author and this is my voluntary review.
The Orphan Prince is Kendall & Isabella's Prequel to the new series, but not unheard story, Mobster's Kingdom.
This is Xander's, Xavier's brother, sneak peak to his version of them in the orphanage and how their animosity began. It's as well, about Ivette Ramos, the girl that arrived kicking and howling, nicknamed Loca, didn't utter a single word, loved flowers, and the one that caught Xander's eye and young heart.
It’s time…the wait is over…. We get to know about Xander and Ivette. They meet are young kids at an orphanage. He is curious about the pretty girl that arrived screaming but never speaks, the one they call loco. He watches over her and discovers her name is Ivette and that she cares for pretty flowers.
Alas, the series has a dark presences and as Xander learns more of her life, he finds that he wants to save her but needs a plan. I can’t wait to find out more.
The Orphan Prince is the prequel to the Mobster’s Kingdom Series which provides the foundation for the story of Xander and Ivette. Both children have lost their mothers and have placed in the same orphanage where they become close to one another. They each have been betrayed by their remaining family members.

This is a prequel to a new series from these talented authors. Ivette & Xander have been through so much in their short lives, and they are in the same orphanage. This is a quick read, which is a dark mafia romance, forbidden love, enemies / lovers’ story, which is intriguing, and I cannot wait to read this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is short glimpse into the lives of Xavier and Yvette. Both of whom we have seen in the Kingpin's Property Series the story of Xavier's brother Xander. It starts at the beginning when they first meet in an orphanage, I am curious to see where this story goes and look forward to the dark read it is sure to be.
This is a first look into the Mobster's Kingdom series and introduces Xander and Ivette. They connect in the orphanage and become friends. But the drama that surrounds their life follows them and I can’t wait for more of this dark mafia romance story.
2 almost identical brothers, Xander and Xavier, and a girl, Yvette are the protagonists of this prequel. They all live in an orphanage, but it is Xander who develops a special relationship with Yvette, only to be betrayed by his brother. The truth is that the characters and the story promise to be real good.
This prequel gives us a taste of Xander's story and the relationship with Xavier, his brother. We also get to meet Ivette, whom is currently voluntarily speechless. Ivette's and Xander's relationship is just starting, and I can't wait to see where it goes. Great storytelling!
Please note that I did receive an ARC of this book and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
★ “You’ve never been prettier than with my hands around your throat.”★
—>>> Review Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars - The beginnings of Xander and Ivette’s story at the Meadow Hills Orphanage is slowly flamed to life as we are fed their ambitions and given background os to the circumstances which oriented them there.
This is a really nice start to and interesting story, to see where xander and ivette ended up but the problem is this book has too many grammatical error and needs to edited immediately.
Short novella, prequel to Xander & Ivette story, ypung ones, on the very beginning. Gives a better picture for Xander & his brother Xavier background (The Kingpin's Property Series). cannot wait for the next installment.
I can’t wait until book 1 this prequel Was so good love Xander and Ivette and I need more of them. His revenge is strong and I am loving that we are going to see how it all started and I am here for it!
This is a short quick introduction to the characters of this series. Just a few chapters that gives you a glimpse into how these characters met and what their home life was and I'm going to assume there is going to be a rivalry. Can't wait to read more.
Arc review I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. In this story xander , his brother Xavier and ivette all end up in meadows hill orphanage . this is the beginning of their story .cute
A taste of Xander & Ivette's romance (most likely a dark one), where Xander and his older brother Xavier end up in the Meadow Hills orphanage. I enjoyed this lead into Xander and Ivette's story, and I look forward to seeing how their dark romance goes.
