I hate the Grimm brothers. They screwed up my life. The story tellers created an image of who Princess Snow White should be and how she should behave.
Well. I’m Snow White. The future queen of this stupid place. And I’m nothing like the sweet well-mannered princess of the Fairy tales. I’m a certified badass: more “sex, drugs and rock& roll” than pink frills and crowns.
The Brothers Grimm got it all very wrong. Real life here is definitely not suitable for children, so they censored what they saw, changed the stories. And now we’re stuck with an impossible image to live up to. Fairyland is about as far removed from the Grimm’s stories as a kingdom can be. Things are not what you’ve been led to believe: The wolves are really sweet and not to forget unbelievably hot. Pinocchio is not made of wood, though part of him does expand when he lies. And don’t start me on the pigs, they are a major pain in the butt. Thanks to the fairy tales, my life was preordained. I was the future queen. I had to behave. Yeah well, if you know me, you know that’s not going to happen.
So I worked it out. …Sort of.
This is the real story.
Snow White and the Seven Wolves is a funny re-telling of the famous Snow White Fairy Tale with a serious undertone. It has adult humor and strong language. Not suitable for children.

Like Your Highness movie - a sarky spoof on Three Little Pigs combined with Snow White
I loved this humorous, dark & 18+ saucy retold fairytale combo of Snow White and Three Little Pigs. Imagine Fairyland ruled by a kind stepmother Queen Regina who is trying to get promiscuous Snow Whitey to take over when she turns 23. It’s not Pinocchio’s nose that grows when he lies, Pigs are the greedy critters from Roald Dahl’s Revolting rhymes & all the other fairytales have also been quite rudely turned on their heads. Although it starts as Snow’s tale, the main plot centres on an adult version of the Three Little Pigs and what really happened with blowing a house down. While there are PNR elements (the 7 wolves are weres) & there is some non-detailed allusion to steamy bits, this reads more like a spoof of a fairytale-fantasy retelling in the vein of Your Highness movie than anywhere near a steamy romcom. There are also some serious issues of abuse - all of the above packed into only(!) 108 pages of a highly enjoyable even if a bit smutty tale (f-words do fly & there are references to MFM & MM action, you’ve been warned). If you like Sarah Pinborough’s Tales From the Kingdoms, you’ll love this one.
Recommended for lovers of dark, adult (read: smutty) & sarky retold fairytales.
Wow Ms Singleton has really turned fairyland on it's head, giving us a Snow White like we have never seen before in this adult take on Grimm's fairy tale. In this version fairyland has it's own problems which are covered up, as they usually are in all societies, and stereotypical tropes are tackled so that we get to see gay love, problems maybe due to a different gender identity such as that of Rapunzel, the wolves being seen as not only sexy hunks but vegan and kind. and the whore having an identity which goes further than just the label. She has dreams and wishes to help others who are troubled as she knows what trouble, bullying and suffering really is. I like that this tale is so multi layered and that it brings to the fore a lot of social problems like drugs, alcohol and familial abuse. It is so much more profound than the fairy tale and I love that the protagonist our snow whitey learns and matures through her experience and the taking on of her responsibility towards the land she actually detests! A big well done for this awesome take on the tale!
