This is the story of a boy lost without a girl he has loved across five universes. Finding Me introduced Chloe Carmichael and her inability to recall her past lives, including her love for Christopher Thomas. Finding Her is a novella from the perspective of Chris, set right before he meets Chloe for the first time on Earth. Christopher Thomas is on a journey. He has been searching for the love of his life, Amanda Graves, for years. He’s on a race to find her before their mutual enemy, The ENO. And before they turn 18 and die - again.
I read words. I write words. I love words. Words have so much power, I understood this at an early age so story-telling has always been a part of my life. After college, I tried my hand at a few different careers - paralegal, customer service, sales. Yeah, I shouldn't have. Now, I'm following my passion and doing what I love. I write Young Adult urban fantasy, science fiction, and romance novels. I live in Texas with my husband and three kids and my endless imagination.
My excitement knew no bounds when I woke up the next morning after posting my review of Finding Me and saw that the author has sent me this novella as well the sequel to Finding Me. This was indeed an awsome surprise! :-D
This book was short and sweet. It was told from one of the main character- Chris's POV. We learn about his frantic search for Amanda. He is already deeply in love with her as he always has been for the past five universe. But this time, it's different, usually when they reach the age of thirteen, they remember their previous lives and find their way back to one another but this time, this hadn't happened. Amanda had not came back.
Finally when Chris tries one of the last place where she might be, he finally finds her but this girl is known as Chloe Carmichael and she doesn't remember a bit about her previous lives but Chris is convinced it is her.
It was quite a bit refreshing learning things from his point of view, how much he wanted her but he had to hold himself back. Some of the scattered thoughts and pieces that Chloe heard in Finding Me are also cleared up as we actually see the conversation between Chris and his friends/team.
The writing is smooth and the pages flew by easily.
Recommend it? Reading this novella is not that much necessary but if you really liked Finding Me, then you could give it a try.
I thought I loved "Finding Me", but turns out "Finding Her" is even better. Reading the story through his point of view is amazing! The stark contrast is what makes it so wonderful. He is so fully in love with her that his version is much more intense. His version of how they found each other again is full of emotion and has more sexuality than her version does. Now, in all fairness she's meeting him for the first time, but he has been in love with her for years and years. I can't wait for the second book in this series!
Great short story about Chris finding Chloe / Amanda. Reading from his perspective was a nice way to get a feel for what he went through. Need the next book now!
An unusual new story and my first time read by this author. I found her to be an engaging author. She is a gifted and talented author. This is a brilliant read! It pulled me in from beginning to end and held my attention. The world building is detailed and imaginative. This novel has strong, well developed characters and an interesting story line that keeps you turning the pages. I recommend this novel and would read more novels by this author. I received this novel through StoryOrigin and this is my true and honest review.
I thought that this novella was cute. I am glad that I read it before I start the series because it gives you a glimpse into the characters and a preview of what the series is about. I am excited to start the series and see what will happen with everyone. Will Christopher find Amanda?
I was definitely a fan of Finding Me, so when I realized there was a prequel I was pretty excited to read it. I managed to tamp down on my excitement so as not to have unrealistic expectations. However, I was not expecting what Finding Her delivered.
The most relevant word I could think of to describe the overall story of Finding Her is creepy. It made me like Chris a lot less. He really came across as an Edward Cullen level of creepy. Actually that's the perfect comparison because they both watched the girl they desired sleep, while she didn't know they were there. Creepy.
It didn't add much to anyone's story, except for Chris and as I already explained he's no longer seen in a flattering light. I actually think I'd be more impressed with the series if I'd skipped Finding Her and just read Enlighten Me when it comes out.
There's an excerpt from Enlighten Me, book 2 in the series and I know that's supposed to tease you and get you excited for the book's release, but it just made me roll my eyes. It actually lessened my excitement because there is a very good chance that a love triangle will be at the center of Enlighten Me. I cannot tell you all how much I hate love triangles in books. In my opinion, it's a pretty crappy way to add drama. So I'm not looking forward to that, but I'll still end up reading Enlighten Me because I can't just let things go and I want to know if they end up saving the world and killing the ENO.
In the end I wasn't a fan of Finding Her. It's really not good when a prequel makes you dislike one of the main characters. I'm hoping it doesn't change my opinion of Finding Me when I re-read it. I'd skip Finding Her, unless you're a hardcore Finding Me or Dawn Brazil fan.
I really enjoyed reading about Chris and from his POV. It was insightful to see how he went through looking for Amanda, and how difficult it was for him to get through her not knowing him. And having to keep the others from knowing about her for a bit. I also enjoyed seeing some of the sentences we heard Chloe pick up explained in more detail what was being said. The pace of the book was good, but I was surprised for it to me more sexual in nature. I was under the impression in the other book that they were only making out. Anyways perhaps it's written this way to explain a male idk. But it wasn't terrible of an issue for me. I pretty much expect them to feel that way. Moving along I just enjoyed the over all struggle for Chris. This definitely didn't have a wooden character and he was really well rounded for me. There were a couple parts that reminded me of twilight, I think that's great and like paying an homage to them, but some similarities or at least that's what I think. :)

Rating: 4 stars out of 5 So I have never reviewed a novella before. I actually have never read a novella before. But after reading Finding Her by Dawn Brazil I think I’m going to have to start reading these more often. I haven’t read the first book in this series yet, but I definitely will be reading now.
Finding Her follows one of the series main character’s and tells the story from his POV of his struggle to find Amanda. The girl he loves. He ends up finding her except she doesn't realize who he is or that she is who she is.
It's really cool how Dawn spins this story. Her writing style is very smooth and the characters pull me in immediately. This is also my first time reading anything from a guys POV. I've never wanted to because I always felt like I couldn't connect with a male protagonist, but Dawn proved me wrong. I definitely connected to Chris and his struggles of finding Amanda. I can't wait to see what happens next.
