Is it enough to be second-best when it comes to the love of your life?
Ayman has loved Kamran for what feels like forever but he's only just noticed her. Working at the same company, living in the same building and moving in the same social circle, keeping their fledgling relationship a secret is torture. What's more, they're both keeping secrets from each other that can potentially harm whatever they have together.
There is only one thing left to do; come clean so they can start planning their life together.
But just as things start to fall into place, their lives fall apart around them. Kamran needs to rush to London for a family emergency so he can pick up the pieces of his family's life. Ayman's always perfect sister, Tazeen, announces she's splitting up with her even more perfect husband, leaving Ayman's family shattered.
And that's not even the worst of it. For Ayman discovers that she is not Kamran's first love...Tazeen is!
Can Ayman settle for being second best to the only man she's ever loved? Can Kamran overcome the horror of his abusive childhood and piece together this future with Ayman? And most importantly, can he convince her, that to him she's never been second best? That she will always be The One?

In the reluctant romance series, I found myself relating to every character. It made me rethink my behaviours and decisions. The same happened with Kamran, who felt like an antagonist all this time, specifically made a newfound love in my heart. I never considered Kamran's side of the story that he might be a genuine person.
There are multiple storylines peacefully running all over the book. The characters are going through different struggles, but they have each other's back. The amount of suspense the author captures on a single page is astonishing.
This book started with Kamran and Ayman progressing in their love life, gradually opening up and becoming one. But Kamran being a messed up soul so far made it even more interesting as his life unfolded slowly to the readers. Ayman being the leading boss of her life feels refreshing.
Kamran and Ayman are the characters who don't complicate love but complicate life. Their struggles, chemistry, understanding, and love are something that makes me love them so much.
Although I love this couple, other couples that made a place in my heart were Tazeen and Jawed. Their little struggle of not understanding that they both love each other is heartbreaking. Tazeen's state of mind and the blank thoughts she is going through feels accurate, and the way Jawed is trying to make her feel better makes my heart ache for this couple. I want them to work. They feel like the love in old times where there is love and company in silence
Also, not to miss out on the way 'Starville Towers' never misses out on the star that appeared in the series is touching. I bet you would want to feel like settling there at least once.
Overall this book is thrilling, a page-turner, and emotionally power-packed, which will make the reader feel all kinds of emotions.
"May Be This Time" is 3rd book in the reluctant romances series by Andaleeb Wajid and as usual the script is great. Wonderful plot, amazing flow, beautiful closure and yes I liked it totally.
Kamraan an ambitious guy with great values and amazing personality but a sour family background which kills him from inside every single day. His father is a devil man who believes beating his wife n children is his right and he can always have that right no matter what.
Ayman a bright, happy, full of life girl with family values and an amazing friend circle totally in love with kamraan.
Slowly the love blossom but suddenly kamran's family experience bad incident and things change for them. And the misunderstanding which happened to be unleashed at wrong time makes it even harder.
But their story will make you believe that no matter what the circumstances are, misunderstanding, mistrust and vulnerability, love can win and it will for sure. A true love can make it happen. The best part of Andaleeb's writing is she writes about real life characters with so much relatable content that you engrossed in her work like it's your own story. And her series have such a smooth transition of characters in each others story that gives that perfect blend to it. I wanted more of it but the end came real soon but no worries I m sure there is more to come in the series ( Tazeen, Rida, Iqra)
Tazeen's story also plays an important role in the series and it has a very great essence of it's own. I m sure one day will get to read her story too 🤞.
Kamran and Ayman's love story is what dreams are made of. Kamran, in the earlier books in this series is shown as a bully and an irritating character. But it is here that I found him to be sweet and sensitive and often misunderstood... So when he fell in love it was a joyride. The vulnerability shown by him makes him so endearing and Ayman is the perfect match for him with her unconditional love for him. And the best part I loved about this series is the way the characters interweave so seamlessly in each other's story. The character actors are an integral part of the series with their everyday lives so real that you have a feeling of being a part of them. Yet another sensitive and sweet story. Waiting for the next one.
After the first two books in the reluctant romances series, it was beautiful to see how Andaleeb has redeemed Kamran’s character. It has been such a graceful metamorphosis from being an ass to being the guy who wears his heart on his sleeves. I found the change of scenery from the usual Starville Tower to be refreshing too. The outdoor conference, London etc were an enjoyable change of pace. Ayman’s feelings could not have been brought out in a better manner and my chest tightened painfully when she was hurt. I love how Andaleeb keeps the emotions real and brings out the earnestness of human complexities with such ease. Always a pleasure reading her stories.
The author has continued her series with yet another unique love story, the heroine and hero Ayman and Kamran fall in love naturally. The progression of their relationship is very realistic, so are the misunderstandings and issues around family that arise. The author has also sensitively dealt with the topic of domestic violence and added layers to the experiences of the characters. The locations in the book are characters unto their own, especially the experiences unique to the city.
What a wonderful sweet read it is! Totally loved it. The story deals so beautifully with insecurities and vulnerabilities. Perfect tale to reiterate how important trust and communication is in any relationship. Just love is not enough! Enjoyed reading the book, another wonderful sweet book from Andaleeb Wajid.
Such a beautiful & charming story full of surprises. I love how Kamran comes out as strongwilled man & Ayman is strong practical girl. It's simple story full of twists & turns. It's the forte of Andaleeb Wajid, simple & emotional stories.
I really enjoy this extended family and friend group. Ayman and Kamran are so sweet although their issues are more serious with his abusive father. Next we have Tazeen and Jawad who finally have to learn to talk to each other, after 4 years of marriage.
Oh my! Kamran seemed almost unattainable at the beginning but when you go deep into the plot you find hidden secrets, family problems that this book becomes more than the couple. Ayman and Kamran of the Starville Towers are one of the most well rounded and mature characters I got to meet in the Starville Towers universe. I never wanted this book to end,so attached I had become to the characters Pick up this book to enjoy a romance that got another chance and despite the misunderstanding and the lack of confidence the two protagonists still found each other and took you in their world.
