Alongside his Mech partner, the teleporting Heaven's Slasher, Julian has conquered foe after foe. He is one of the strongest virtual reality Mech battlers in the world. However, no player stands alone.
The hulking steel Kingbreakers. The bizarre and alien Spell Titans. The monstrous cyborg Hemoborn. The heroic super robot Paragons.
Ace players from all around the country face off in their custom Mechs as they battle with parts and pride on the line.
To win, Julian must rally his talented but inexperienced team around his shining sword.
Ryan writes clearly, with few typos, which is always appreciated it. His descriptions of college level sports is enthusiastic, and shows his own background off to advantage. This follow up to his earlier overdrive series continues Juliens development as a player, adding a new team and new challenges. I enjoy the different mechs and strategies, as well as the maps and interesting items. Where this story loses a star for me is in the repeated descriptions to the point of overuse, and the feeling that Julien is always going to have defeat handed to him from the jaws of victory. While yes he wins and overcomes, it’s never very satisfying.
This book is for anyone who loves mech action. It blends mecha and litrpg seamlessly and should be read on any who love the genre. In this book Julian continues on and is faced with new challenges and enemies. So many cool new abilities that make me wish this was a real game.
Branching off from overdrive, the new series brings Julian and friends through new hurdles and challenges. Great world building and characters as a fan of mecha and rpg this brings it home. Huge fan of Ryan and his works.
This o ok focuses on Julian goal to improving to be a team leader for his college team with a lot of ups and dos x and makes Julian seem more down to earth and relatable
