This is a military-themed, secret society romance whose primary setting is a male cadet academy, and Grace is the first woman to attend. After the untimely death of her father, her father’s best friend and the academy’s principle becomes her guardian and makes her the first enrollee to pilot the introduction of a new program open to women. Grace’s childhood friend and love, turned enemy Cole of leading rank is pushing Hunter (also her love) and cadets to bully her to leave, out of duty for her safety. His mother has also died. There is more to deaths than they know.

I liked the military setting, creative and uncommon, combined with secret society; the characters were appealing as well, especially as new, hinted-at love interests, former boyfriends and enemies entangle in the events. Grace depicted credible confidence and was no one’s wallflower while Cole was dominating, alluring, and possessive; Hunter brawny and indulgent; and Brett, eager. In book the harem is not complete, and there are hints as to other members. Sexual tension is high and tangible along with the mystery. However, spice was relatively low, surprisingly. I also found the story slow to develop, perhaps as intended as a slow burn, that interestingly read like a faster burn. Not much really happened.

An appealing side story to Princes’ series, which I prefer, but I am interested in this plot’s unfolding, love interests, and future spice.

The plot was great and the only thing that saved it from being 2 stars but it was the characters that ruined it.
I’m used to tension and there was non and grace was not relatable at all, she displayed no flaws and it felt like she was that classic Wattpad stereotype of “I’m not like other girls” SHE EVEN SAYS IT. I think I just needed to be able to relate to the characters better and understand why they feel certain ways because they showed no depth

Filthy Rich Cadets by Jillian Frost is the first book in the Cadets of York Military Academy. Filthy Rich Cadets is a bully military reverse harem romance. I devoured this book; it was so freaking good! This book is filled with alpha possessive men, and I love it.

Grace has known Cole for half her life; he has been her first for everything, and they have an unbreakable bond. She starts getting close to Cole's best friend, Hunter. Cole and Hunter share everything that includes Grace. Grace's dad and Cole's dad are best friends; they both are in the military. Cole's mother dies, and Cole pushes Grace away and tells her he never wants to see her again. Grace is devasted when she gets news that her father has passed away. Mark, her father's best friend, takes her in and tells her she will be starting at York Military Academy, but the only catch is she will be the only girl. Cole makes her life a living hell at the Academy; he has the cadets destroy her room and destroy her uniforms. Cole wants to break Grace so she will run away, but Grace isn't backing down. Grace is protected by Julian, a new student at the Academy, and Cole and Hunter aren't happy. Grace has never been shy about her relationship with Cole and Hunter, and now she knows exactly what she wants with these new guys as well. Is it possible for them to put aside their differences and work together so that everyone is happy?

I loved the balance of spice and tension in this book. I can't wait for book two, so Jillian can amp up the spice with the rest of the guys. Despite being new to Jillian's books, I can't wait to read more! I freaking loved this book, and I can't wait to read the next book, Pretty Cruel Cadets.

line

Star Rating : 4/5 Stars

POV : Multiple

Cliffhanger : Yes

Pace of the story : Moderate

Angst Rating : 5/10

Heat Rating : 4/10

Triggers Involved : Dark, Bullying

Plot Summary :
Grace had two best friends, Cole and Hunter before they shunned her without any explanation. Now years later after her world has been broken with her father's death, she is forced to go and live with them. Stay under the roof of the two people who still mean so much to her but hate her all the same.

Not to mention that she has to attend their university, and them with their other friend Brax won't make any day of the school easy for her. They plan to make her leave no matter what they have to do for that. At least she has the new boy on her side. Julian and the cadets hate each other a lot and maybe that way she can be safe. Only if she knew that Julian has plans of his own and these four will break her before they are done with her.

Overall Opinion :
This author's bully romances are decent. I have read other books by her and so I picked this one as well and I liked it. The suspense was good and the ending shocked me because although I knew something like that would happen, I didn't expect it to be so brutal lmao. Now I want the next book so bad. I need answers!

Cole,Brax, Hunter and Julian are perfect and I want to see more of them. The one thing lacking in this book was the steam. Almost till the halfway of the book I kept on feeling like Julian wasn't a part of them harem but I think he is. Not sure though. The characters needed to have a bit more of steam so that I can distinguish the main characters from the side ones. It seemed like everyone turned on the heroine so you couldn't tell who the heroes were 🤦‍♀️

Recommending this book to all the dark bully reverse harem romance loving people. It was a one time read for me with enough in the storyline to hold me on and make me want to read the next book as well.

There is an abundance of tension, drama, turmoil, darkness, angst and twists in this gripping read. Do keep in mind that this is only book one of this series so there is a looming cliffy (and it is a DOOZY!). I thought that the writing was well done and the story engaging and compelling. I look forward to the next book. I am freely posting a frank review.

Nope for me

The heroine has to degrade herself continually to me basic needs. She essentially hooks herself out. If Cole is who and up with her, I would turn and walk away. Awful premise for a book. Not dark even. Just degradation

This book is the definition of a guilty pleasure. In all honesty it’s not that well written and you’ll never gain anything from reading it, but oh man was it entertaining.

The book follows Grace Hale who is the first female to be at this military Academy. Her unlikely attendance is mainly concerning the untimely death of her father. She begins attending the Academy with her two best friends, Cole and Hunter who are the worlds biggest jackasses. (Team Julian)

In my opinion, this book was not all that well written. It starts off with a brief background from Cole’s point of view while they’re children, and then immediately goes into smut. I’m not a smut hater I just really thought that it was inappropriately timed and took the place of what probably should have been character introductions. If i’m being honest that whole party scene read like a Wattpad. Hell, the whole book was like a Wattpad.

Speaking of characters, I didn’t find the characters in this book very likable. Graces character is so back-and-forth that the only thing I felt toward her was frustration on how often she switched up her opinion of people and her feelings towards them. “I hate you Cole” “I love you Cole”, omg just pick one. The boys couldn’t have been more annoying if they tried. They acted like pigs. Even minor characters who basically had no role in the book acted so disgusting. (Team Julian for not being an asshole all the time)

In terms of plot I think it was trying really hard to be focused on her father‘s death and the terrorist group, but if we’re being honest here it was really all about how Grace was acclimating to the school and what the boys were doing about it. It mainly follows her relationships and it wasn’t until the end that all the little things that had been building amounted to anything. That being said if you are looking for a super action based but then this probably is not for you. (I mean there is a lot of ✨action✨ though so)

Overall I would give this book a 3.2/5 stars. It’s a fine quick read that was entertaining while I read it, but I likely won’t read the second one when it comes out.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Welcome to York Military Academy, where the cadets are ruthless and filthy rich.
She doesn't belong in our school. Girls have no business attending York Military Academy. Only the strong can survive here, so it should be easy to get rid of her. Except she's more of a challenge than we thought. Grace was raised by the military and can hold her own. So she left us no choice. A bet. The first cadet to break her gets to keep her. And all three of us plan on winning that bet.

This is the first book in The Cadets of York Military Academy. series. It is a college aged bully romance. It is also a reverse harem. I will go ahead and warn you that once you pick this book up you will not be able to put it down. This is the story of Grace who has known Cole for half her life. He has been her first for a lot of things in her life and I loved the unbreakable bond that they had. It isn't long before she starts getting close to his friend Hunter because Cole and Hunter share everything and that includes Grace. Their father's are even best friend and they are both in the military. But when Cold loses his mother he pushes Grace away and tells her that he never wants to see her again. But Grace really needs him because she is going to go through a huge loss of her own. But thanks goodness for his best friend Mark taking her in but is going to send her to York Military Academy even though she is going to be the only girl and the boys are bout to make her life a nightmare. It is Coles goal to break her and to make her run from the cadet. Then a bet ensues that the first one to break her gets to keep her. There is a lot that goes on in this book and I loved every single second of it. You do not want to miss this book.

"You did. I've learned ro adapt to any situation because of you. It doesn't make this suck less each time we say goodbye."

Grace is a 'military brat' and her dad goes on missions were he leaves months at a time. I have never read a book when were we 'live a military brat life' with her and some hot guys too. This is a refreshing read like I said never read a 'Military Brat Life".
She is independent, strong and she is not afraid of her sexuality 🥵 She also has a strong sense for family because "family is forever" and that thanks to her dad's upbringing which get..no spoilers

We pretty much dive into the school scene. Which starts with a cheating boyfriends and reuniting with two hotties Cole & Hunter.

Grace & Cole have the longest connection which I love and I feel their strong bound. When we met Hunter for the first time he is energy and her cares for for too. Hunter has their missing piece and they were his 😍

Hunter & Cole broke my heart very early on in the book. Because this military suspense story is starting to pick up the pace on a murder, secrets and manipulation from...no spoilers
Now they are becoming The Devil's Knight and they want to protect the girl they both love...no spoilers

Action, suspense and I did not expect these many layers for a military romance. The scale of The Founders control is tense and dangerous. Plenty of steamy scenes that just show they can't stay away from each other. Nothing stays hidden...no spoilers
Just get ready for the slow build up that will knock you

The was another fabulous book by Jillian Frost. I could not put it own and loved the main characters, Grace, Cole and Hunter.

After being best friends for years with Grace, Cole and Hunter decide to push her away with no explanation when tragedy strikes Cole's family. Then tragedy strikes again with the death of Grace father and she is forced to go and live with Cole's family and attend York Military Academy to attend training to become the first female cadet.

With an academy full of males, each day Grace lives through a nightmare as they do everything possible to make her leave.

But she is a tough cookie who has been brought up as a military brat and will not give up that easily. But what she does not know is that there are dark secrets in her past that have put her in danger. With Julian - a transfer from another academy - her only friend he puts her trust in him, but has she done the right thing.

The book has everything, it is emotional and at times steamy, dark and kept me in suspense until the cliff hanger ending.

I cannot wait for the next book to find out what happens next.

I received this book in an ARC and have given my honest opinion.

This author has quickly became one of my all time favorite and a 1-click for everything she writes and that includes this new release!

Who doesn’t love a RH story throw in some bullying and I am in heaven! Grace gives me so much life she is strong independent and oh so feisty! She knows what she wants and how she’s going to get it. She does not back down from a fight. The guys are fantastic while there are moments when I seriously wanted to throat punch them you can totally see how captivated they are with Grace and want nothing more than to protect her. The sexual tension and chemistry between Grace and the guys bleeds through the pages! The mystery and suspense was great and kept me on the edge of my seat and while I knew the cliffy was coming I didn’t expect it to be what it was and that ish was a straight gut punch and now I’m dying to get my hands on the next book because I need me some freaking answers!

Jillian Frost is AMAZING!!

Filthy Rich Cadets is a bully, reverse harem, set in a military Academy.

Grace has known Cole and his family for most of her life. He is her best friend, first love and many of her other firsts. Over there friendship, she also becomes close to Hunter, Coles best friend. Hunter and Cole love to share Grace.

Coles mother dies suddenly and Cole pushes Grace away and has Hunter do the same. Grace is heartbroken and then her daf gets sent out on a military mission, she just doesn't expect him to be killed.

Mark, Coles father and Grace calls him Uncle Mark, takes her in and lets her know she will be attending York Military Academy, but she will be the first and only female cadet.

Coles makes her miserable at the academy, and she is bullied relentlessly. She makes new friends, enemies and just wants her best friends back. She just doesn't know all of the secrets they are keeping.

Holy crap, this book had me on the edge of my seat!! The guys are possessive alpha holes and I am here for it!! I love Grace, she doesnt let anything break her. I can not wait for Pretty Cruel Cadets!!!

“I felt like a queen with four sexy kings. Throughout dinner, I thought about how I was one lucky girl. Sure, our relationship was unconventional and weird to outsiders, but we could make it work. One girl. Four boyfriends. I was sure someone had done it before.”

How do I even begin to describe how much I loved this book?

I enjoy reading reverse-harem books, but the whole oh-shit-I-like-him-and-him-and-also-him thing? Not a big fan. But Grace -- our main heroine? She freaking owns it! She's a queen and you cannot change my mind! 👑

✔ dark
✔ enemies to lovers
✔ bully trope
✔ reverse harem

Grace and Cole have been best friends since they were kids, and have been each other's firsts. Not exactly dating, but kind of fuck buddies for years, I guess? However, Grace's father dies, and with no place to go, she's kind of forced to start attending a military academy -- as the first and only female cadet there.

Knowing Grace is in danger, Cole, Hunter and Brax will do anything to force her away from there -- and keep the oath they made to her. Even if it means turning the whole academy against her and breaking her heart.

But Grace is a freaking bad-ass and her dad taught her better than that.

Filthy Rich Cadets grabbed me from the very first page! The whole book was action, action, action and there was never a dull moment.

“I was their sole focus. Pleasing me. Teasing me. Making me come. Begging them for more.”

Be aware spoilers ahead:

I must start with this quote/ spoiler:

“Then he dad attempted to kill her mother, who threw herself in front of Grace to save her”

Sooo English isn’t my first language, but this doesn’t make sense…

And this folks, isn’t the worse.

1# This girls has no self love. Nothing. She is like: my body only purpose is be used as exchange for bs. No dignity. You might thing she got the bottom of the this situation… but no, she will forgive and forgot… and think about abs and d1cks in the worst situations.

2# I couldn’t like the boys, they’re disgusting human beings…. They are mean or plain, or sometimes both.

3# I indeed studied at military school, and boy… that’s nothing like this. This is so chaotic, no hierarchy, no organization, no teachers (besides the only one who looks suspicious and hit at the H). They have they own bedroom, and maids that clean their stuff… it’s like… prep school, but with (lazy) adults.

4# she made a “sex tape revenge” and send to her ex boyfriend… what??? She isn’t the smartest cookie in the jar but… girl, why?????????????

The only character that I care a little abou is Julian, but I think he will turn up being the villain or something like this…

Anyways, never being more disappointed 😔.

Buckle up and enjoy the crazy ride! Jillian truly brought it with this book, and I am all here for it. We meet Cole (Colton) and Grace when they are 11 and meet for the first time at Cole’s house. She is there with her dad and while he has a meeting with Cole’s dad, they go and watch a movie. This becomes their summers for the next few years. Grace spends her summers with Cole’s family and friends and then goes back to where her dad is. When something happens, she is forced to become the first female cadet at the York Military Academy, where Cole and his friends all attend. The problem is Cole, Hunter and Brax are holding secrets and have pushed Grace away when she needs them the most. Knowing that she is going to be tormented and harassed to no end at the academy, she decides that she is going to do everything she can to prove herself to all of them. Thankfully she meets another new face at the Academy, and her and Julian become fast friends. Except, things are not as they appear, and someone is out to get Grace. She needs the guys to help her, but it might be too late, and does she really trust them anymore?

Okay first of all, Grace. This girl may seem meek and mild, but she has so much fire! I have a feeling if the guys would stop protecting her and just tell her what is going on she would be a huge asset in their fight. Now for our guys, Cole is hot as all can be and a huge protector. He wants Grace and only her and seriously I love this guy. Hunter is Cole’s best friend. He is dark and mysterious and freaking handsome as can all be. Then we have the third in this best friend group, Brax. We know that he is half Brazilian, and he has a soft spot for Grace though has been in the friendzone only.

I cannot wait for the next book in this series because it was all sorts of hot and now I just need more.

Filthy Rich Cadets was unlike anything I’ve read or even heard of before. This is my third book by this author and it’s safe to say, she has made a permanent fan out of me. If you love dark, reverse harem reads, you really need to give this book a try.
Grace has grown up a military brat. She’s practically grown up with Cole as his dad was best friends with hers. Cole and his best friend, Hunter, had a sexual relationship with Grace. When Cole's mother dies, he and Hunter breaks things off with her with no explanation. When Grace’s father is killed in action, she is taken in by Cole's father. He is the principal of York Military Academy that up until now has been only male cadets. Now Grace will attend and be the only female cadet. Cole, Hunter and Brax are the leaders of Alpha Company. They rule the school and they know she will be in danger so they set out to bully her into leaving. She is one tough cookie, though. She’s definitely her father’s daughter. She won’t be pushed so easily. This elite school harbors many secrets and lies. The students will do anything to protect them. Her only ally is Julian. He’s an incredibly hot and sexy as hell transfer student. He hates the Cadets as much as she does but he also has quite a few secrets of his own. Add in increased tensions, a bet and attempts on her life and this book is almost impossible to put down.
My love for this book grew with each chapter read. I loved all of the characters and when it came to heated scenes, I wanted to trade places with Grace. It’s impossible to know who she should trust. The twists, turns, secrets and betrayals had me perched on the edge of my seat. The cliffhanger just about killed me. I’m dying for the next book! I highly recommend this story to all fans of dark romance. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

Grace meets Cole when they’re just kids, they spend every summer together and grow into a sort of relationship. When his mother dies Cole is convinced Grace isn’t safe around him and does his best to push her away. Bullying, lies, and a couple near death experiences later and he’s regretting those decisions.

What works:
• If you’re looking for spice, it’s there but nothing special
• Interesting assortment of characters
• Grace is a likable character to an extent.

What doesn’t work:
•Though the characters are interesting, you don’t really get to know anyone past surface level. Grace studied computer science at her previous school and has a pilots license. Cole doesn’t want to go into the military but wants to work with his cousin. Nothing beyond physical descriptions for pretty much everyone else.
•The switch flip with Cole was somewhat understandable but after all the shit he does to her and allows to happen to her — Grace forgives him. Easily. Too easily. With no real explanation.
• Grace asks very few questions. She’s 21 and in college. Why should she relocate to a military academy because her dad died? He was active duty at the time so wouldn’t her college be paid for? One of her teachers mentions funds that she should be getting because of that but it’s the first and only time it’s mentioned. She’s an adult. She can go anywhere but is simultaneously submissive to her Uncle’s wants for her to go to the academy but super self reliant because of how her dad raised her?
•Reminds me way too much of G.I. Jane except Grace isn’t as badass.

This is the first in a new series and my word what an impressive start this story is. When Grace’s father passes away his best friend and principal of the academy become her guardian and enrols her, the only women in a male dominated world. Grace has known Cole for most of her life, until he pushed her away, and he and his best friend Hunter share everything. Cole, Hunter, and Brax another of their friends is determined to get rid of Grace, but she is no wallflower, she can hold her own, as well as having the help of another new student Julian who protects her. This is a well written dark, raw, and gritty storyline, with twists, angst, bullying, tension, suspense, intrigue, secret society, mystery, drama, and a reverse harem tale, which has me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and after that doozy of a cliffhanger, I cannot wait to read the next book. I highly recommend this talented authors work.

What a great start on a new series! I have been a fan of Jillian Frost since I have read the Cruel Princes of the Wicked Empire series so I’ve jumped on the chance to read the first book of Cadets of York Military Academy, Filthy Rich Cadets. It is a reverse harem book with four hot alpha-holes Cole, Hunter, Brax, Julian and one feisty, stubborn and gorgeous woman Grace. The plot involves a military academy, a secret society, a terrorist group and lots of backstabbing, deception and secrets upon secrets that may risk Grace’s life. The heat and the chemistry between the characters were off the charts and one could only wish to participate in Grace’s shoes🔥🔥🔥 This is definitely a one-click book and thanks to Jillian Frost, now I have to wait for another second installment after the Wicked Empire series.

Do you like bully romances? Then this is the book for you.
Do you like reverse harem stories? Then this is the book for you.

This is the first book in the Cadets of York Military Academy series.

Grace is one of my favorite heroines. She is tough and she refuses to let others dictate what she can and cannot do. There was a spicy scene at the beginning of the book that introduces us to Grace, Cole and Hunter. It also sets the stage for later conflicts. There are very few spicy scenes involved in the book. However, the entire mystery kept me interested more than anything.

This book ends in a cliffhanger. I could guess the twist to a point. I can’t wait for the next book to see how things play out.

Rating: 4.5/5⭐️
Spice: 2/3 🌶

This is my first book by Jillian Frost and it will not be my last! I’ve never read a military reverse harem before and it was amazing!

I love how strong and feisty Grace is. A heroine who can hold her own ground? My absolute favorite! I know we love a powerful woman and Grace is exactly that!

There were times where I wanted to strangle Cole and Hunter, but I just knew before reading this book that I was going to love it and it exceeded all expectations and more!

I need Pretty Cruel Cadets asap because I have so many questions!!

** Definitely read the trigger warnings because there are some strong bully themes that you may find uncomfortable **

When I saw that this had dark romance and harem I wasn’t 100% sure if I would enjoy this books like the other ARC’s I’ve read. Oh boy was I wrong.

This is my first book I’ve read that focuses on a military background which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed and brought so much excitement and suspense.

When Grace got the news that her dad had died broke my heart, my dad is a marine (before I was born) but felt such a tug on my heart. I do wish she would have read the letter her dad wrote her before the ending of the book but hopefully it leads to a lot of unanswered questions.

Jillian, I can’t wait for the second book!!

This is more like 2.5 stars but I usually round it up.

A brief summary: the book started with a threesome and right now it’s looking more like a fivesome, don’t get me wrong I enjoy reverse harem, have nothing against it and if the characters feel like “the more the merrier” that’s cool. But on this one it feels a bit forced with one of the guys.

The main plot is interesting enough but there is no relationship development between the male characters and the heroine or character development for anyone really.

The best bits in the plot happen right before the end and since it ends in a cliffhanger it totally makes sense.

I will read book 2 if I can because I have many questions, but honestly I hope there is serious improvements for the next one in this trilogy.

When I saw this book was an RH bully romance I was excited to read it. The idea of her being the only/first girl at this academy had me curious how this would play out.

There was bully romance themed behavior in the sense “it’s for your protection” is why I’m bullying you.

I was iffy on the plot. It had a decent cliff hanger.

The spice was okay.

I just didn’t feel like this flowed together well enough to hook me. like there was something missing, It’s not a terrible read though. I just don’t see myself continuing to finish the series.

I did like how protective and possessive Cole and Hunter were with Grace.

I liked the book. It was a fast-paced bully romance (with a side of reverse harem), but I'm not entirely sure that I liked the bully romance side of it. To be honest, the FMC and MMC had a history- they grew up together and were best friends. After a traumatic death of a parent, the MMC cut the FMC out of his life, and then when they see each other again, he is a total ass to the FMC. They eventually get over whatever hang ups are there, but I didn't see a lot of redeeming qualities in the MMC. I will be reading the next one when it comes out, though. I really hate cliffys and need to know what is going on.

This book was all kinds of goodies wrapped up in a military uniform. This is the 2nd book by Jillian and i thought her first book was fantastic this book man oh man it has all the thing's I'm so hooked its not even funny. She has quickly become one of my favorite author's. I'm not going to give things away other than to say you need to read this book.
