The following is not a typical review, but a quick scan of sections of the book.
- He included in the midst of Psalm 59 (between verses 5 and 6) an actual image of the Gan***a, the Hindu elephant lord, which is very shocking. This is not only totally unnecessary, it moreover violates the command to make no images of other gods. To insert this in the midst of THEOS' Word and to print it for hundreds of thousands to be seen, is a very serious transgression.
- He endorsed Blaise Pascal through a photo and a quote, although he embraced Jansenism, a sect and splinter group from Catholic teaching. The Jansenists had revived the Manichean dualism and introduced Calvinist doctrines into the church.
- He quoted Ulysses S. Grant as if endorsing us to read the Bible, while Wikipedia suggests that he was agnostic: "Unlike his siblings, Grant was not forced to attend church by his Methodist parents. For the rest of his life, he prayed privately and never officially joined any denomination. To others, including his own son, Grant appeared to be agnostic."
- His endorsements are highly problematic: Arthur Tappan Pierson (Presbyterian = Calvinist), Billy Graham (strong tendency towards Universalism, ecumenical movement, close collaboration with the Vatican and the Pope ...), repeatedly of Charles Spurgeon (Augustinian / Calvinist; "I believe there will be more in heaven than in hell", strong embrace of ecumenism, follower of the Knights Templar Bernard of Clairvaux ...), of C.S. Lewis (believed in purgatory; Tao is the highest morality; rejected biblical inerrancy; theistic evolutionist; considered Hindu, Buddhist and Muslims as brothers in Christ), of David Steindl-Rast (Catholic Benedictine monk), of Everett L. Fullam (Catholic & Episcopal Priest), of G. K. Chesterton (Catholic), of George Washington (Freemason), of J.I. Packer (Calvinist and author of Evangelicals and Catholics Together; Ecumenism), of Oswald J. Smith (Presbyterian = Calvinist), of Theodore Roosevelt (Dutch Reformed church) ...
It is truly shocking to find all this in a work called the Bible. Where have we gone ... from inserting some words to plastering His Word with evil. Absolutely shocking.
