When I discovered this book about managing your energy, I was immediately intrigued. A lot of items brought a smile of recognition to my face while reading. This book has given me new insights and especially practical exercises to take another step forward in personal development. It’s written in a way that’s very pleasant and inviting. While reading you are slowly immersed in the life of Iris and the lessons she has learned. This is a book that you’ll take off the shelf to reread—and I think that’s the best compliment you can give a book!
Radiant leest als een trein en geeft veel herkenning als je, zoals ik, regelmatig worstelt met te lang doorgaan met werken en met energietekorten oplopen. Het voelt prettig en veilig dat de schrijfster open is over haar eigen strijd die ze voerde en regelmatig nog steeds moet voeren. Ze toont haar kwetsbaarheid en dat is erg moedgevend. De vele, heel concrete tips zijn heel welkom. Zoals hoe te voorkomen dat je maar je eigen schema's blijft doordrukken terwijl je weet dat je er van af moet stappen. Hoe je niet al je energie moet weggeven en niet onder de 20 procent moet komen omdat je daarna maar heel langzaam weer bijtankt. Tips over voeding, emoties, zelfbeeld, grenzen hanteren etc. Heel veel praktische tips. Een boek om bij je in de buurt te houden en er regelmatig nog weer eens in te lezen!
Not just for Highly Sensitives: Something for everyone who wants to practice better self-care!
This book was an exciting surprise, because even though I was interested in the topic, I didn’t think I was the target audience, so I wasn’t expecting to be so impressed.
The author is writing primarily for Highly Sensitive People (HSPs), which I am not, yet so many of her insights and extremely specific and helpful solutions addressed feelings and circumstances we have all experienced. I will be re-reading it to implement them right away. I would not hesitate to recommend the book to anyone who suspects they can do a better job of self-care and managing their energy levels.
Using a few of her tools, suggestions, and worksheets, for instance, you can begin to get a better handle on which activities and relationships in your life bring you joy and vitality and which ones drain you mentally and physically. Her simple grounding meditation is excellent, and the last few chapters of the book—on seasonal changes, perfectionism, working from home, and gratitude—were each worth the price of the book to me. She generously includes links to many of her tools and resources.
Even the insights I had heard before were presented with fresh energy, perspective, and compassion. She has lived this journey and is sharing what she learned. I loved this book.
I’ve known Iris for many years and always love her writing. What is most exciting about this is having her gentle but firm guidance all in one book! She speaks from personal experience with heartfelt stories and years of acquired knowledge as well as an intuitive gift from which we can all benefit.
In other books I’ve read, I admit that it’s easy to keep reading past the exercises, but Iris makes the exercises so appealing, accessible and relatively quick to do (yay!) that I actually took the time to practice them right away. That tripled the value of what she has to offer because I could immediately feel the benefits of her teachings.
Whether you are highly sensitive or not or somewhere in the middle, this book is easy to read, engaging and full of practical examples and tips that are doable (that’s the best!) and repeatable. I’ve highlighted my favorite parts and the places I know I’ll need to refer to so I keep moving forward in regaining my sense of self and, best of all, I know I’ll benefit from Iris’ expertise for years to come.

I think there are a ton of us who are highly neglectful of ourselves and do not practice sufficient self-care. I’m for sure one of those people. What I enjoyed most about this book is that the author gave information as well as guidance. I didn’t feel like I was being “preached at” or told what I was doing wrong in my life. Instead, there was a fluidity to the way the information is shared. I appreciated that they included such practical tips as guided meditation and simple strategies of how to tackle certain topics in your life. It’s a fantastic book to sit back with and make notes. As someone who gets overwhelmed by life due to work and health issues, this is something I want to use to my advantage regularly. Excellent source of information.

What a wonderful book! Iris takes you through a lot of practical exercises and great tips, using her own journey as a guiding path. It really helped me to recognize my own problems with my energy management and my sensitivity. The exercises are really easy to do and I love the extra help on the Radiant website, like the guided grounding exercise. The book reads like a conversation with a good friend. I would certainly recommend it to everyone, who is struggling with their energy management or who is sensitive to outside influences/energy.

I am facing so many health issues these days. I am glad to get my hands on this book at the right time. In this book, the author has given tips so we can transform our life from being drained to having plenty of energy.
I could relate well to the author when she mentioned that she was burnt out at an early age. Since I have experienced burnout, I was able to understand the contents of this book better. Now, I will listen to my body signs and use the tips provided by Iris to live a happy, healthy life.
The language used in the book is lucid so all of us could understand it easily. The title of the book is appropriate. It's a great self-help book. It's an eye opener and an insightful read. I have noted a few points from this book in my journal. It's time to enhance your overall well-being. Go for this book without any second thoughts.
