Wow, this manga has seriously taken a turn for the better. After a few disappointing storylines, things have steadily rising back up. I was a bit thrown off by the random drag queen guy at the end of the previous volume haha, but I didn't hate him as much as I thought I would. He pissed me off for a bit. Then he turned out to be an ok sort of guy I suppose. He was loads more likeable than other characters that have been thrown in the series for drama.
I must say though, I thoroughly hate this Sakura person. I was halfway into this volume and Sakura was referred to as a girl. My jaw dropped and I was shocked like hell. Maybe it's just me, but for the past two volumes I thought that Sakura was a dude. It seemed like Sakura was a gay boy that had a crush on Sakuya. Then, my world is shattered and I find out that Sakura is a chick! I feel super stupid for not realizing it. It's not like Sakura was a girl pretending to be a boy. No, this person was a girl the whole time. I am seriously oblivious most of the time. To be fair, Sakura kind of looks like a little boy, so I can't be completely blamed. Now I'm getting sidetracked from what I really wanted to type haha. Anyways, as I started to say, I hate Sakura. I understand having a 'crush' on a celebrity. Tons of people do. Hell yes, I drool anytime Tim Curry or Gerard Way's voices come through my speakers. It's perfectly fine to think sexy thoughts about a celeb as long as you realize that it's all in fun. The trouble starts when you go crazy and seriously think you will marry that person and have 20 kids with them. Sakura was of that variety. Just because you're a fan of someone doesn't mean you can stake a claim on him. She did really horrible things towards Aine for something Sakura had no right to be upset about. The situation hardly warranted . Sakura just needs to back off and keep what's left of her dignity before she becomes even more pathetic.
I'm concerned about Aine and Sakuya's relationship. It seemed like they had a lot of ups and downs. I swooned when Sakuya said he'd throw everything away for Aine. It was soo sweet! But then, he had moments, especially towards the end where I couldn't believe some of his actions. What is going on with Sakuya and this Sakura person?? I don't understand his intentions at all and it killed me to see Aine's reaction. Most of the time she can sometimes get on my nerves, but I felt like Aine was more likeable in this volume. I'm interested to see how things will go now that certain things have happened. That damn Sakuya better have a good reason for hanging out with Sakura that much or I'll be sort of pissed a lot.
I've owned these books for a while but recently re-read them. I have to say, this is one series that completely took me by surprise. I'd seen it on the shelves but dismissed them unfairly. The following review is for the entire series.
I love the artwork and story in this series. I especially love how the actual pairing off happened so quickly in relation to other series, which I like. (It's one of the reasons I loved Kare Kano as much as I did.) There's the typical "I luff them but someone is fighting me for them" stuff, but it's relatively well done considering that it's such a tried and true trope. You can actually see why people might fight over our two main characters.
As the title suggests, there is some sexual content in here and if you don't want to see manga boobs you'd best prepare yourself to see them. The content gets more graphic in the last volume, but generally sticks to hints, glimpses, and talk up until volume 17.
This is a pretty entertaining series and it's what made me really love Shinjo as a mangaka. (Although I wish her publishers gave her all the respect she deserves!)
aah so much drama, it's hurting my head! I really like the new producer for lucifer or ▲ucifer, ( why can't they use one or the other? ) but that's probably because I read so much yaoi manga! I believe his name is Mr. takayama.
I understand why sakuya loses his cool when he knows Aine's being hurt or been hurt, but he chose the career first! at the same time though, i want him to do something about it! probably it's just his age is why he acts so recklessly towards that kind of situation. AAAAAH JUST SO MUCH DRAMA!!!
Not my favorite novel. I don't like this new producer guy. And Sakuya needs to talk with Aine instead of going all rogue and brooding. Sakura seems like she's pushing it too. She wants to see his apartment? What is she like twelve? Her brother should be keeping more of an eye on her. I hope the next one is better.
