Quick and a little odd shifter romance..
This was a quick and steamy shifter romance that definitely had a few odd moments where the story seemed to move too quick. I enjoyed the premise of forbidden fated mates that were kept apart by family members, but I felt that the reunion between Cole and Tessa happened way too quickly! Tessa was right to have reservations about Cole's claims, and I would have liked for there to be more of a courtship between them.

This was an amazing start to the New Hope Alphas series. It begins with Cole and Tessa. A chance meeting in the woods at 16 teen paves the way for the couple we have today. Cole is a wolf shifter and destine to be the pack leader. When at the tender age of 16 he picks up a scent and it leads him to a young woman sketching. He is too young to shift but he knows deep in his bones that this is fate and his mate. Tessa is human and so young. She is visiting her aunt when out of the woods comes the most intense young man she has ever come across. She is unsure what she is feeling but she knows that there is something pulling her to this man. Tessa is not meant to stay and goes out to forge her own path in the world, but fate has other ideas. She finds herself back in this little town after 16 years away. The young boy she met so many years ago is now a rugged, strapping and very alpha young man and the pull to this person is even stronger than all those years ago. When these two fated, individuals finally connect it is more than anyone could have ever imagined. I hope you are ready for a paranormal adventure with twists, turns, surprises and oh yes, a sexy, sweet, intense love between Cole and Tessa.

Cute story. Well written, totally safe, but I didn’t care much for the fact that the heroine isn’t a normal, boring human. It gets irritating in PNR romance where the h comes out with crazy powers or is a shifter/mythical creature herself because the THRILL OF THE CONTRAST is lost. What makes these stories so cool is an normal, boring human who gets to love and be loved by some incredibly powerful, mythical, insanely different mate.
But here’s what I absolutely LOOOOVED about this book and why it’s getting 5 stars: double virgins, they belong to ONLY each other. ‘Nuff said. That alone earns it 5 stars for me, especially since there weren’t any egregious disappointments, and the nature of the MCS is a minor pet peeve of mine.
Totes safe. Double virgins. No cheating, abuse of any kind. HEA with epilogue

Tessa moves to New Hope in order to start over. She needed a change and thought that she would start by moving close to her grandmother. But she was not prepared for the different vibe that New Hope gave off. People are not as approachable as one would think within the small town and there is just something about Cole Gibson that really throws her off balance. Maybe a little shake up is what all of them really need.
As always with L. Nicole, Big Bad Wolf is a quick but great read with lots of steam! She is great with making a short story seem like it was longer by giving you such a cohesive read. I love the PNR move and am looking forward to the next story!

This paranormal romance is about forbidden fated mates with a wolf shifter and a girl they think is human. It turns out she did something supernatural, and they do what they want anyway. I didn’t connect with the characters as the story unfolded too fast. Still, I enjoyed incorporating supernatural powers and wolf shifter knotting. There are more in this series.
Cole is sixteen. He is training his brothers to shift, control his emotions, and fight. He smells something and immediately shifts, but he is early, which is weird. He finds the sweet smell in town. He walks up and talks to the girl. He thinks she is his mate, but she is human to an elder. She is just visiting New Hope to see her grandmother.
We jump to Tessa’s point of view present day.
Wow, it’s been sixteen years now. Cole is the Alpha of the pack. But he still pines for the girl he met. Tessa gets fired on her birthday because her boss is a tool; she finally asks her grandma to return to New Hope.
Cole is so obsessed with his mate he is stalking her, he can’t stop thinking about her, but it is forbidden for many good reasons. Tessa seems immune, but then again, she has some slight nuisances that might mean she knows as well.

Tessa and Cole's Story . . .
At the age of 16, too soon to shift, Cole Gibson scents something that compels him to shift into his wolf and track down the scent. His father is shocked since Cole is not old enough to shift and his brothers look on in surprise as he runs toward the town to find whatever is driving his wolf crazy. He finds her sitting on the sidewalk, drawing in a notebook. She doesn’t notice as he walks up and shifts back, her scent now imprinted on his mind and heart. He wants to stay with her and keep her safe. He asks to see her drawing and she shyly shows him – a large red wolf. Tessa has drawn Cole’s wolf! Then her grandmother comes out of the laundromat and she knows Cole’s father and has been to their home. She was a council member. Telling his father, who had walked up to them, to keep Cole away from her granddaughter, the woman grabbed Tessa’s hand and took her away. And Cole tells her she will know where to find him, not soon, but one day because she is his.
Losing her job when she refused her boss’ passes, Tessa came to New Hope to visit her grandmother and start fresh. Grandma Libby didn’t seem too excited to have her stay with her, but Tessa had no other options.
Cole has just become Alpha to his pack. This has always been what he was meant to do. Tiffany comes rushing up but his wolf turns away. This woman is not his true mate. But she wants the prestige and power of being the Alpha’s wife. He has not seen his true mate in 16 years but his wolf will accept no other. Yet it is forbidden to claim a human. Too short to introduce. whole new universe
This author is an enigma, she can write really great stories or terrible ones. Wanna Scrooge was great. Half of the four Matrimony AK books were terrible, half were pretty good. This one was not in the “great” category. She’s obviously trying to begin a new universe series but 100 pages is not enough space to build folklore regarding wolf shifters, some kind of vampire like people, seers, observers, a council, golden ones, etc, AND tell a story about a specific couple as well as setup for the next in the series. SO many characters! SO many open ended story arcs. I almost forgot about Dustin, the exiled wolf shifter. I’m still not sure what the difference is between the council, observers, and golden ones. Also, some groups are introduced as allies but Cole “doesn’t trust them” so…I guess they’re NOT allies?
Cole and Tessa meet when they’re teenagers and she gives him a drawing of his wolf even though she’s never seen him before nor does she know he’s a shifter. They are separated immediately but it is never spoken about again. When they meet 16 years later she even asks if they’ve met before but he doesn’t answer her. I kept thinking she would see the drawing or he would show her he kept it all those years but no. The whole plot hinges on secrets various people keep from each other that are never really explained. Didn’t feel any real chemistry between the characters and Cole seemed like a different person in the first few chapters compared to the end.
Just way too much was crammed into these 100 pages. Convoluted is the main adjective that comes to mind when I think about this story.

Sometimes things happen that change your path because the path you on is quickly changing forging a new path. Cole sexy as all get out protective, alpha with a prewritten destiny of being the pack alpha and being with humans is forbidden. Tessa sweet has always loved her best friend but when he refuses her or lets her go, she leaves with no plans of returning. But fate had other plans for them both you see Cole knew Tessa was his mate but instead of keeping her he let her go for being a human so sixteen years later when she heads back home to live with her grandmother after losing her job because she had a jerk for a boss, and he wanted more than an working relationship. But when she gets there she feel unwanted by her grandmother but Cole already rejected her so why is he making her feel unwanted making her very suspicious because he feeling for Cole hasn’t diminished over the years and his feeling have only grown stronger over time because she is his mate how can he stay away when fate dictated they be together, how will Tessa feel when she finds out the whole truth about Cole and their time, will her boss get what’s coming to him (hopefully) and can they find happiness?

Big Bad Wolf - Book 1 - New Hope Alphas - by L. Nicole.
This is the first in a whole new series by this author and it is a really enjoyable read and the start to what looks to become an exciting and enthralling new series. Filled with imaginative characters, supernatural creatures from shifters to seers, vampires and witches along with a select few humans who help to keep their secrets. I have high hopes for this series no question. Cole Gibson is a wolf shifter who is in the process of becoming the new Alpha to the Gibson Pack. He has lived within the forest surrounding the town of New Hope his whole life. His own town within the woods is smaller and helps hide him and his pack from human eyes. When Cole is younger he catches a scent that will change his life forever, that scent is of a human girl called Tessa. She is beautiful in every way, she soothes his soul and his wolf in equal parts but being human she is Forbidden to him even though he knows her to be his mate. This story unfolds beautifully, filled with a variety of well written characters and a leading male and female that share an undeniable love and bond and fight for their happily ever after. A great start to a promising new series. Happy Reading.

This is the 1st book in the new paranormal series New Hope Alphas and it was a great read. Cole is a wolf shifter and from a young age he's been very alpha he knows what's his. Since he's destined to be the next Alpha/pack leader he has to let his mate go since she's human and it's forbidden. Cole and Tessa meet as teenagers but she doesn't know about their world she feels a pull to him and he tells her that she knows where to find him. It takes 16yrs for her to return after she loses her job because she wouldn't sleep with her boss she decides to go stay with her grandmother to jump-start her life. Her grandmother and Cole don't seem to want her there which arouses her suspicions. Cole is also warned to stay away from Tessa but how long can a wolf avoid his mate? What's going to happen when Tessa finally learns why their town is special? You really need to read this exciting story to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book and I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

Short & Sweet!!!

I wish this story would be longer! It’s only 100 pages which I read in less the 2hrs & I just wanted more!!
So the story started when they both were young & Cole smelled his mate- but his mate was a human & it’s illegal to mate with a human. Time passed & Cole always knew that Tessa was his mate. Tessa live in the city of Chicago & she wasn’t getting a long with her mother (they never discussed this but her grandma was the one the said it) & she got fired from her job because she didn’t want to sleep with her boss. She needed a change, she started to feel caged in the city. So she asked her grandma if she can stay with her after 16yrs of not visiting her!
I really like this story! Immediately Cole knew she would always come back to him! Come to find out she is not all humans!! I really liked this story! Can’t wait to read the nxt one.

Wolf shifter Cole had scented Tessa years ago as his fated mate, when she visited her grandmother. Now, sixteen years later, Tessa is returning to spend time with her grandmother after things go very wrong in Chicago. Cole sees her again, but the ban on mating with humans is still ongoing, and his feelings are even stronger now. When a bad situation occurs, Tessa has such strong determination that she exhibits powers she did not know she had. This changes everything. The characters have wonderful backstories. crazy personalities and powers. The storyline will keep you happily glued to the pages and the situations unfold and big decisions are made. Great ending.

Wow, fantastic beginning to this new paranormal series involving everything from shifters, witches, vamps and protectors. Intriguing storyline for Cole and Tessa, as he’s always known his true mate, but he would not cross the line and defy tradition. But once lines have been cleared and some interesting information comes to the front will Cole be able to resist what he’s always felt in his heart. Some very fascinating details are coming to light in this small town of New Hope, stick around and find out just who might be behind all this hidden secrets.

Cole was young and training when he smelled something wonderful. He just about changes into his wolf and talks off looking for the smell. He see a young girl who's' drawing and when he gets close he knows that she's him mate. She gives him a picture of a wolf and when he looks at it, the picture is of his wolf. Tess goes back to New Hope to visit her grandmother and is told by Cole and her grandmother to stay away from him. It seems that Tessa is more than just human but no one knows just what she is. Some drama, shifting and plenty of passion and steam. Loved the story and can't wait to read the next one.

Tessa and Cole!!!
These two meet when they were teenagers. Circumstances keeps them away until 16 years later. This is such a great story. I love paranormal and L. Nicole did such a fantastic job writing this. Cole is a wolf shifter and Tessa is a human ( or is she) hmmm.. guess you'll just have to read it and find out. You have your sexy pure alpha male, and your sweet and innocent Tessa. But when these two come together Sparks fly with just one touch. Absolutely love this book! Can't wait to read Micah's story!

Cole and Tessa meet one another one summer day. Cole is wanting to know more about this mysterious girl. Cutrently Tessa is having a rough moment, she avoids the sexual advances from her boss and gets fired. Down in her luck she hopes staying with her granny at the small town can re jump her life. But granny is hesitant to let Tessa come and visit and suspicions arises. Once Tessa does come down for a visit, Cole is told to stay away from Tessa. But they are in a small town, eventually they will bump into each other. Can they stay away from each other? Or will fate bring them together? I loved this insta love story. Enjoy!

Years later she returns now an adult and Cole, who is now Alpha, knows his mate has returned. Because she is human their relationship is forbidden but things are revealed that could change everything. Really good. Loved being drawn in their world.

Ms. Lily is back with her first PNR and I think that she is off to a wonderful start. I really wanted to give this book a 5 star rating but I just could not. I loved the story but it felt like too much was missing to give it 5 stars. Cole and Tessa were great together and I really liked their banter, connection, and chemistry. I hope we get more about these two in the next book with Micah. I would recommend this book and Ms. Lily as a great author.

4/5 stars. Cole and Tessa have such a strong connection, it made this story very enjoyable to read. I loved how even before he was technically supposed to get his wolf, he shifted after getting a whiff of Tessa when he was young. There was lots of mystery and hints at a very interesting backstory being developed in this series and I can't wait to read more. I loved these two, pure chemistry that was fun to read and the dual POV made it extra great.

While there is a sprinkle of suspense, this was a lighthearted, fun, fated mates romance. I loved Tessa's wide eyed innocence about the supernatural. Another thing I loved was that she and Cole had met when they were teenagers. While she didn't remember it, he had never forgotten her for a moment. In addition to Tessa and Cole, there are a few characters that really intrigued me and I hope they will get their own stories too.

I love it! New Hope is such a nice name for this new series. Hopefully I’ll catch the next installment as well because I do like Micah and Casey even after barely hearing about them… but wow what a wonderful start this book was! Exciting and fun to read. The main characters such a perfect fit! And the mysteries!…. I have to stop cause I don’t wanna spoil…

This is a great start to a new series! The story pulled me in to Cole and Tessa's world, that pull that they have to each other and the outside forces trying to interfere! I enjoyed the world building, getting to know these characters, the twists and shocks that came with that and am looking forward to more from this series.

This is book one in a new series and I have enjoyed reading it. There is forbidden love, secrets, lies, twists, mystery, family, connection, chemistry, nods to fairytales, the unknown, evil, power, trust, honesty and love. I am looking forward to reading book two and seeing what information Cole and Tessa find out in their journey for the truth.

The first book in the New Hope Alphas series. A short story that once I started I was not putting down until I was finished. Wolf shifter Cole Gibson meet Tessa when he was seventeen but her Grandmother did not want them to be together. She went to the city, but now she is back in New Hope.
