Well written young adult novel with plenty of action to keep readers enjoying. Young adult men and women hero/characters who challenge greedy misguided adults.

These adults use and control biologically valuable children by keeping them in an institute. New Washington is the center of power controlled by a Board made up of chairmen from the sectors of the former US. These chairmen select a head chairperson who wields vast power.

Dialogue is smooth and setting is in our not too distant
future with the earth suffering from climate change and Anthropocene abuse as well as a plague.

In this dystopian world, what chance could young adults have at changing the status quo or finding a friend’s missing father who just may hold the key to curing the plaque. Who wouldn’t want a cure?

Interesting read with new twists and turns with almost every chapter. I enjoyed how it tells the story from the perspectives of many different characters. Even though that led to repeating some incidents it showed another perspective of what was happening. Highly recommend for anybody looking for a captivating read about another world.
