I picked this up because I was impressed with how thorough it is as a guide. I recently finished the initial training to be a yoga teacher and this is an amazing supplement to my learning. The best part of this book is the way the author has diagramed which muscles are being engaged during the asanas as well as labeling the muscles and explaining how to offer more challenge OR adjust the pose to modify for injuries and also provides cautions and tells you what level the pose is. I am very impressed with this - a comprehensive guide to asanas!
I loved how thorough this book was on the how’s and why’s. It starts off going into describing what yoga is, breathing techniques, and breaks down each pose with muscles being used, difficulty, and cautions. It gave me a deeper understanding of yoga overall without overwhelming me.
