This was a fascinating book that gave insight into how those fleeing Hong Kong adapt to life in Taiwan. Out of the 8 short stories my favorites were the ones about 阿嵐 and the story titled 十九根.

In the acknowledgements the author mentions how he wrote this listening to the band "Cigarettes after Sex," I found this fitting and felt that their music matched the book's mood perfectly. I would highly recommend.

「不會被概念架空，絕對不完全丟下生活—無論那生活變得多麼黯淡悲涼」

看完兩天還是不知道寫下什麼感想，就覺得太好看作者太會寫了，〈十九根〉是較無感的一篇，但不影響對整本小說的喜愛，前面那麼多嘻笑怒罵，結果最後一篇結尾，是一種想望嗎，總之有些被震動了。

一個故事宇宙，同樣人物同樣對白在不同故事裡迴蕩，感覺有趣。筆觸較為淡然，但間或提到香港近幾年的創傷，又恰到好處。

The turbulence is probably the best one of it, and the first story seems too light and young comparing to the others. Some repetitive phrases are forced. But it’s a book with intention.
