Jordyn Davis
I experienced a lot of pain as a child.
It was so hard to face that I repressed it all.
The last thing I need is my college’s soccer star pursuing me to fulfill a fantasy.

Caleb insists we met years ago.
I tell him he’s mistaken.
Yet the more he chases me, I start to realize I had suppressed the boy with sandy blonde hair and piercing gray eyes among the horrible memories.
But as the walls unravel, it becomes clear that we both remember things differently.

Caleb Rosmond
I do know you, Jordyn.
My little dove.
I’ve searched for you all these years, and I won’t back down until you give in to me. Until your skin burns at my touch, and you crave me as much as I want you.
I know you’re the girl who stole my heart as a kid, and I have every intention of taking yours now.

Speechless!!

A Pretty Fixation caught me by surprise, and l enjoyed reading every minute of it. There are several tropes in this delicious story - orphan, punching of the V card, amnesia, mistaken declaration of love leads to love and mistaken identity. This is Ms. West's best work yet!!

This story is not a light and fluffy read. It’s a slightly dark romance with sexy times, sweet moments, and so angsty, you are in for an experience.😍 I felt happy, sad, frustrated, angry and everything in between.

The main characters (Jordyn and Calen) are funny, entertaining, have great personalities and have personal problems. This story is told from dual POV.❤Caleb is stalkerish, obsessive and determined to make Jordyn remember him from their childhood when they stayed in a foster home together. Jordyn had a traumatic childhood experience and didn't remember the past. That is until she experiences intense emotions😉, which opens the flood gates.

This book was exactly what I needed to get me out of my reading slump!

This story threw me for a loop once it began and the further it progressed the deeper I fell. Emotionally my heart hurt for Caleb and Jordyn as we see the past that lead to the present. The emotional confusion, heartache, sadness, and anger swirl together at them as well as for them. What unfolds is mysterious and romantic with a twist you do not expect.

Caleb and Jordyn literally collide into each other setting of a series of events that question a possible past and a definite future. The moment Caleb lands his eyes on Jordyn he immediately declares her to be his long lost Dove. Jealous, possessive, and determine to make up for lost time he is not willing to back down. Caleb states he and Dove were the best of friends in foster care and they lost touch until now. Jordyn denies being Dove, and tries to deny Caleb to prevent reliving long suppressed memories. The more time spent together Caleb continues to believe she is his beloved Dove, and Jordyn unable to deny the chemistry and loving the attention begins to hope she may be that girl as well.
Caleb and Jordyn experience love, loss, heartbreak, deception, and possibly fate. Time tells all in this heartfelt story.

A Pretty Fixation by Symone West was all about the angst and passion of young second chance love. This new adult romance had plenty of twists and emotional power to keep me engrossed in the pages till the end.

Jordyn was living her life fullest in college till Caleb Rosmond literally crashed into her life. He claims that she is Dove, his best friend from their foster home but Jordyn cannot remember it. She went through extensive therapy to block her trauma but Caleb is relentelss. He won't take no as an answer. He searched for his Dove all these years and he will make Jordyn his at any cost. What will happen when Jordyn's walls break? Will it bring pretty memories or ugly truth?

I have to admit that I didn't see that twist coming at all. That secret changed everything. The author did an excellent job of elevating this enemies to lovers plot to a different level with the interesting twists. Caleb is the right mix of sweet and c0cky. He is arrogant and charming and possessive and over protective. He pushed Jordyn's boundaries and his obsession knows no limits. Jordyn's character is very complex. She feels that she has a deep connection to this boy but she is hesitant and doubtful. My heart was so sad for her heartbreak and hurt because life has not been fair to her. No matter how deep her feels run for Cooper, it all was dependent on the fact that she is a girl from his past. With the secrets and twists, it became more complicated but I am happy that they found their happily ever after. Their connection is real and all consuming. And Love prevails over everything.

A Pretty Fixation by Symone West was sometimes swoony, sometimes filthy hot and sometimes truly emotional. An interesting and captivating mix of everything.

good read

Spoilers
I really like this book I liked that Jordan wasn’t dove and they had a happy ending why I wouldn’t give it a five star is because I don’t feel it was translated good enough that he loved Jordyn for Jordyn and not Dove. I feel that Jordan gave him too much of a pass I’ll get that she was understanding but I also feel that she should’ve been more angry because
Almost every time they were together he mentioned the past so it was like he wasn’t over it even wow visiting Dove’s house is still seems like there were feelings there and I understand that can’t stop overnight but if he love Jordyn for Jordyn I just felt it should’ve been portrayed better. Because in my mind I feel if Dove was alive he would have went to her and left Jordyn. But the overall story was good

A story that had potential to be good. But the author's writing made it a disappointment.
Both protagonists despite being over 18 act super immature and brat.
She wanted to make him a possessive alpha protagonist and turned him into a misogynist.
As I said before it had potential more with plot twists in it. But it was disappointing and I won't read anything by this author again.
It was like a read a Wattpad story.

A Pretty Fixation by Symone West is a fresh and unique story with an emotional resonance and a perceptive depiction of sensitive issues related to identity, childhood trauma, loss and love. Ms. West has mastered the skill of writing over the top and possessive heroes without stumbling into the territory of obnoxiousness or caricature. When Caleb Rosmond runs into Jordyn Davis on campus, the soccer star is overjoyed. After nearly a decade of searching, he has found his best friend and the love of his life. For a brief month, they connected at a foster home before she was adopted and then she was gone. Now that he has found her again, he will NEVER let her go. Unfortunately, Jordyn does not share the same memoires that Caleb has. In fact, her memories of her childhood, both good and bad, are deeply buried. What happens if the memories Jordyn has don’t “dovetail” with the pictures of everlasting love Caleb keeps painting? As always, Ms. West gives us complex characterizations and plenty of angst and heart.

5 applause worthy stars , This book took me by surprise it was so much more than what I expected the emotions the heart ache, the trauma that they went through was done so well i felt every minute of it and the fact that they both don’t remember a certain part of thier past just made me bleed for them

This was not the typical fluffy sweet romance it has an edge of darkness to it because of what both characters went through during there childhood shaping them to who they are which made it so much more appealing to me

The story starts of with Caleb and Jordyn running into each other and cable is 100% sure she is that friend of his that he communicated with for a month at the foster home but she is sure she is not his long lost friend because of the walls she built up due to her traumatic past she doesn’t want to go back to, once she decides to take a peak into the past the doors open and the emotions starts seeping in unexpectedly

The plot twist was just something else that I didn’t expect the trops are ( sports romance, collage romance, orphan, traumatic past, amnesia, low on spice but high with pining)

This was my first book by this author it will definitely not be the last because her style of writing is right up in my alley

this was so fun!

tropes! 👇👇

-mistaken identity
-college romance
-sports romance
-semi non mutual pining

this follows Jordyn and Caleb, who were both in the same foster house for a portion of their childhood. Caleb was best friends with another child named Dove and he is absolutely positive Jordyn is her. but Jordyn has suppressed her memories, so she doesn’t know until she recovers flashbacks in memory with her therapist.
there’s a plot twist at the end so i’m not going to give it away but i enjoyed this so much more than i thought i would!

first up, i love the name Jordyn. i also loved her character! Caleb too, his possessiveness and certainty was so cute. i mean hot. or cute. it was super fun and less like a full novel, but still had the plot (ish) of one. just a fun and easy read i enjoyed this!

oh the only issue? THERE WAS ONLY ONE SEX SCENE! that tension??! for what!

4/5⭐️
2/5 🔥

my heart in pain for jordyn. she deserves everything. 🥺

and yes this story is good but i lacked on how caleb actually loves jordyn for jordyn not bcs of his memory with dove and doubt that he probably leave her for dove if shes still alive… and need more grovel or angry feeling from jordyn. she could be selfish a bit. this is also why i like aaron better. at least he likes her as herself not bcs she was mistakenly as someone else. i would be much better if caleb being portrayed more that how he loves jordyn as herself.

and jordyn my girl who deserves everything especially after what she had been through with her own grandmother. but i am glad she found a loving parents tho theyre her adoptive 🥺

On the fence

So I was a bit taken aback by Calebs intoduction and behavior at the beginning of the story. However, I usually enjoy stories from this author and thought to finish it. Beyond the games Caleb and Jordyn played, I started to like them as a couple by the end. I was glad they were both able to get a little closure for their time in fosture care. Overall I liked the story, I just feel Caleb could have been a little less stalkerish.

Good

I did enjoy thus book 📖. It's crazy how she told him she wasn't who he thought she was but he was convinced that she was. He can't blame her for not telling him the truth when he was always caught up with someone else. That he wouldn't have noticed her other wise. But every thing worked out the way it should have.

DNF

A completely inexperienced, virgin heroine. Again.

I swear, authors keep using the same type of heroine in every book, like the fact that they never did anything with someone who isn’t the hero is what makes them different.

I didn’t like this. Caleb gave call the police. He was weird and aggressive and almost a carbon copy of Brandon from “The Art of Us” who I didn’t like that much either. Jordyn and Caleb had no chemistry. DNF at 14%

unexpectedly good

The way this book started off is interesting, and it kind of threw me off because I didn’t know how it was going to end. However, it turned out to be the beautifully emotional heartwarming story.

Great story. The hero comes off as a crazy stalker. But in the end it all becomes clear why. This book has a ton of emotional moments. Past abuse and neglect. It's a great story with great characters.
