Now in paperback the perfect gift for someone who is Italian. The real beauty of the book is in its prose as the authors' genuine love of the Italian culture comes through in the poetry of the written word.
Let’s get this book’s flaws out of the way first. (1) It’s a little dated (and somewhat politically incorrect as a result) and (2) most chapters end with a rather cheesy concluding sentence. However, I learned so much about the country and culture of my ancestry that I truly believe it deserves five stars. I very much enjoyed reading it and I’ll be referring back to it from time to time.
