She’s a witch and a fiercely independent single mom. He’s a Viking dragon shifter bodyguard honor-bound to protect her… even if it’s the last thing she wants.

When the Raven Society sends Viking dragon shifter Erik to watch over Astrid, a witch living in Norway with her seven-year-old daughter, he isn’t prepared for the greeting he receives. Astrid doesn’t want help from anyone, and she isn’t afraid to let him know.

Erik’s been running private security for decades, and he’s never let emotions get in the way of his duty. But Astrid stirs something inside him that he’s never felt before. Falling for her isn’t part of the plan, and it jeopardizes his ability to do his job. The harder he fights, however, the more firmly the feisty witch and her daughter wedge their way into his heart.

Astrid has no intention of letting the burly, tattooed bodyguard into her life, but when the Night Guild, a dangerous supernatural criminal organization, makes a play for her, she begrudgingly realizes that she needs to work with Erik. Because the sooner she can get the Night Guild off her tail, the sooner she’ll get rid of the bodyguard. It doesn’t help that Erik is devastatingly hot and threatens to melt through the lock she put around her heart years ago.

But the Night Guild isn’t giving up so easily… and when Astrid and Erik discover the truth behind their attacks, it could destroy everything, including their chance at love.

This is the 4th book in The Raven Society Series and the action within the series is unwavering. The battle between good and evil continues and the fight to dispel prejudice amongst the supernatural community continues. In Viking Hex, we have Erik - a 1,000 year old Viking-Dragon Shifter who specializes in personal security. He accepts a job to protect a witch named Astrid in his "neck of the woods" in Norway from the evil Night Guild, but what do they want with Astrid. As a witch who has had to depend solely on herself for several years because of her love for someone not of her "kind" she initially rejects his help. She challenges him to a magical duel to see if he's more than just a big dragon who throws off magic...he passes the muster. She soon learns that Erik has a connection to her family, their magic calls to each other, and she's grateful that she decided to let him into her home because Darkness and The Night Guild are definitely coming for her, or a piece of her.

"How can this be happening? Fate is a tricky b##ch, that's for damn sure. Of all the people I could be hired to protect, I come across the descendant of the only woman I ever loved, a thousand years later?"

Viking Hex is proof Aurora Grey wants me to keep reading these books, I'm actually sad we only have 1 more to go in the series. Erik and Astrid give us a love story, high action, revelations, and heat that literally sets buildings on fire!!. The Night Guild is back at it again and this time the target is single mother and witch, Astrid Olsen. It's up to Erik the dragon shifter to protect her and her daughter. One little problem said witch wants nothing to do with him or anyone for that matter. She's been handling things alone all this time, why should that change? When the threat is proven to be real, she changes her mind. Erik now has to deal with feelings he has no business feeling for a client, even if she reminds him of the one and only woman that he ever loved. Astrid is doing her best to not act on her growing feelings for the sexy dragon shifter bodyguard. She's loved and lost before and has no intention of doing it again. When things get deadly, will the two of them be able to resist each other long enough to save the day? Obviously not, the results are explosive, sometimes literally, but then love has a funny way of being all that you need at the end of the day. With characters that leap off the page, magical worlds, and enough heat to melt one's kindle, I would definitely recommend this book. I wish I could give more than five stars. .
