Rate this book
There are men. And then there’s Blake Anderson.

He was my best friend.
Until I left.

Ten years apart have turned him into a handsome, rugged, tattooed wall of muscle.
He even has his own fan club, following the success of his smash-hit TV survival show.

They call him Mr. Wild.

One night he shows me just how wild.
For a moment, I almost believe in magic again.

Almost.

But those years away have changed me too.
I’m not the girl he once knew.

I thought escaping my past would stop me from feeling trapped.

This one was adorable and so heart aching too… Daisy fighting to regain herself back while falling in love with her estranged best friend. Old and new memories, friendships and Blake’s love, brought her back.

tropes: friends to lovers, second chance romance, rekindled love

Beautiful story

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.5)
Trope: friends to lovers
Angst: 😱😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Years ago Blake and Daisy were the best of friends. Until she returned to England and never came back. And then dropped off the face of the Earth. Ten years later she's returned to sell her beloved aunt's home, but she's not the girl he remembers. She's a broken shell of her former self. Blake tries to show Daisy she can find herself again, but while their passion grows, there seems to still be a threat still looming.

Beautiful, heart wrenching tale about the damage guilt can do. Wonderful storyline that's well written and packed with a ton of smexy time. It did get a little slow in spots, but picked right back up soon after. Blake is a super protective, jokester kind of guy that is just what Daisy needed.

Captured by Mr. Wild is the fourth book in The Men series by Elle Nicoll and is a complete standalone, but best read in series order. It is told in first person, from dual perspective.

Mr Wild captured my heart

I utterly loved Elle’s latest instalment of her The Men Series.

The calm and gentle vibe of this beautifully crafted story left me unprepared for what unfolded down the line.

It was cleverly executed and most unexpected.

Blake and Daisy were a cocktail of sweet and spicy and then of course there’s the suspense too.

The reasons why they haven’t spoken for ten years.
The rekindled friendship to love.
The reasons Daisy is back in Hope Cove.
It’s all made my heart swoon and ache.

You’ll need to take a cold shower after the shower and lake scene… and of course there is Blake’s dirty talk. 😉

Prepare yourself for Mr Wild… he’ll capture your heart.

Thank you for letting me ARC for you.

I didn't like this very much. It was okay, but there were a lot of details that were poorly drawn out and unrealistic to me. Namely, you can't magically get a work visa and have it be for only 4 months. You have to have the job before the work visa. There were moments when one of the American characters said "torch" instead of flashlight and "mates" instead of friends. If you're going to write from an English and American perspective, great, but keep the terms properly. I know it's really nitpicky but details like that drive me up the wall. The dialogue was often awkward, and I'd find myself confused over a character saying something that seemingly felt like it came out of no where. Overall, just very meh.

Captured By Mr. Wild, book four in The Men series by Elle Nicoll is a fantastic story! This second chance, friends-to-lovers story can be read as a standalone. It is written in the first person, and we get the story from both hero and heroine's POV.

It was so easy to fall in love with these characters.
Blake Anderson, brother of Mr.Anderson, the hero from the first book in the series, is absolute perfection! Sexy, swoony, sweet, dirty talker and he fights for the love of his life like a real Mr.Wild.
My heart hurts for Daisy, she has been through so much. She doesn't deserve what has come for her, but she fights back like a real heroine. She is strong, fierce, and sassy. I loved her and Blake's banter and teasing.
There was plenty of steam that was well-built and descriptive. I really enjoyed the smutty scenes.
A special mention to Betsy, one of the cutest, sweetest, bestest fictional animals ever!

The story is set in a small town, with real-life characters that are relatable and have real things happening in their lives. I was drawn into the story from the first page, I couldn't read fast enough. I kept wanting to know more about the characters and what happened.
Elle Nicoll had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, and that ending, I didn't see it coming. From happiness to anger to broken-hearted, I went through every emotion possible.

Drama, angst, emotion, humor, secrets, friendship, love, steam, and some unexpected twists make this an amazing story!
In my opinion, this is the best book in the series. It's a must-read that deserves a million stars.

I received an ARC from the author but am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

I just couldn’t stand the fact that she said she wanted to be called Dee and he kept calling her her Daisy because “it didn’t feel right.” It does not matter why she changed her name, dipshit. She said she wants to be called Dee, you respect it. This isn’t about you. It’s about HER.

Writing wise, it's written better than books 1 and 3 (2 was also better written) but this book seriously needed to come with a trigger warning. I wouldn't have read it had I known the extent of the traumas in it. I am a mentally strong and stable person but I carefully choose what I read/watch and expose myself to to protect that mental health I work so hard to protect and I feel like I was misled not being given at least a warning about the contents of this book. Trigger warnings need to include animal cruelty, domestic violence, attempted murder, at the very least. Whilst I did read it all and thought it better written in terms of how it flowed, I'm really annoyed at the lack of trigger warnings. There were also discrepancies, for example, in one scene, he removed her bra but then, in the next scene, she still had it on. The writing is still very obviously a newer author finding her feet and I am trying to read the whole series despite this as we all start somewhere but, if you have suffered with any of the TWs I've mentioned or are a highly empathetic person, I would recommend NOT reading this book. I don't know. I loved Blake. I feel like he deserved better than just loads of crap thrown at him, scene after scene. I wouldn't read this again. It's too heavy for my usual fictional reading style and I'm almost put off reading any more from this author now not knowing what trigger warnings should be in place for other books. Sorry for my brutal honesty but, yeah. Some things need to come with a warning and this is one of those things.

Tropes: Alpha Male, Second Chance Romance, Friends to Lovers

HEA, Dual POV, Stand-Alone book 4 in series

Scroll to bottom for triggers that also spoil the plot.

Oh how I wanted to love this book, but I just didn't.

Here's what is has going for it. GREAT steamy scenes and an intense nail biting ending.

But I just didn't like Blake our MMC. I didn't like his constant sexual innuendos and is supposedly boyish charm. I'm sure some do, but he just wasn't for me.

Also the fact that our author Elle Nicoll is from the UK is obvious. Which is fine for our FMC who is also from the UK. But no American man says "I just fancied a walk". Little bits of dialogue like this just take me out of the story.

But if you like her other books, boyish charm, and a FMC who finds her strength than this one is for you.

Daisy and Blake were best friends once upon a time, until one summer she stopped coming to Hope Cove.

Now 10 years later, Daisy is back and she’s nothing like the teen she used to be. She’s darker and with secrets in her eyes.

Blake’s not that gangly teen, Daisy used to know. He’s sexy with a dirty mouth and he’s fighting for that second chance.

I loved Blake and Daisy. Their banter is hilarious and Blake is just a sweetheart. Elle Nicoll wrote a beautiful story with wonderful characters.

Captured by Mr Wild is a steamy second chance, friends to lovers story. With a dirty talking alpha and the woman he’d do anything for.

So many issues with this book but I'll just pick the one that irritated me most.
Why the hell did he go blabbing about their first intimate experience to his friend? And why then did that douche go tell his wife? How awful and gross.

And from there, it's just all lame and cheese, and though I love cheesy, this was just not it. Not a fan.

Wow, this fourth book in the series does not disappoint! I could write lots but I really don't want to give away any spoilers ☺️

Daisy and Blake connect again after several years apart, finding their friendship again and more. It has all the good feels of a friend's to lovers, but with added drama and twists that threaten to keep them apart. I loved the strength in Blake and his fight for Daisy. Daisy in turn has her own journey to go on that is heartbreaking at times.

As you would expect from Elle, it's packed with heat, spice, humour, angst and a gorgeous HEA. I am hoping for a book for Maria 😍. Great additional characters, including Betsy. If you are looking for a wonderful, small town set, friends to lovers drama filled romance, this is the book!

This was sent to me as an ARC and this is my honest review.

I became a fan of Blake when I read about him in Jays book. The wait was finally over, and I was able to get my hands on his book 🤗

At 10 years ago, my heart melted for Blake and Daisy. There was so much that needed to be said that night, but Daisy told Blake not to say anything.

Then fast forward 10 years, and Daisy comes back. When I started to read Daisys pov I got a bit irritated because I was sort of blowing her friends off. You could instantly tell Blake still cared for her. Now, as the book went on, things started to unfold, and man did my emotions towards Daisy change. That girl went through hell with her ex and was plagued with nightmares. I am so glad that she felt brave enough to tell Blake. At this point, I'm watching this all unfold, and I'm pulling for Blake. That man was the first to be there and the first to apologize. That man melted my panties with his sweetness.

Now that twists were heart-stopping, heavy breathing, and a smidge of panic. I could not imagine being in that or those positions. This only made everyone stronger.

It ends with their happy ending and a 10 years later... Talk about making my soul happy.

Honestly, this book lost a star because of the number of times Blake called Daisy 'babe.' It was a little icky and lost any sort of value after the tenth time. Also, there are number of other pet names that are so much better!

The book was decent but I found it hard to connect with the characters. I liked Daisy but didn't feel anything strong towards her. I appreciated her journey and her strength considering everything she went through. Blake was alright, he was a typical man. He sees his childhood friend for the first time after 10 years and he's immediately drooling over her breasts. Not cute. He was obnoxious at times and again the babe calling was overkill.

It was an easy read but forgettable.

2.5 ⭐️

I found this okay.

Blake was sort of annoying to me. Daisy points out he uses his humor as a shield and I think that may be why I didn’t always feel super connected to him.

I appreciated Daisy’s struggles but oddly didn’t feel that connected to her either.

There’s some action and some cute moments. Loved Betsy too!

*spoilers below*

Safety: Some OW drama. Blake has ended something with the bartender as the story starts - apparently he never liked her that way, but they hung out a few times, fooled around, and slept together once. (I hate this - the story element could’ve been the same without them having slept together. But I digress!) OM drama with her ex, but not in romantic ways.

This was way way waayyyy too cheesy for me. It had potential, but all the main characters did was fucking grin and giggle and beam. I hate to say the word cringey, but that is literally the best way to describe it. The dialogue was weird and awkward and did not seem right coming from characters who were supposed to be 27/28. The mmc also said babe a lot, which normally is fine but in this it just gave me the ick.

Just drags on. Forever. I kept waiting and waiting for it to end and then another minor conflict would pop up. Just doesn’t seem to be enough planning to really mesh the story together. More like chapter by chapter writing.

This book needs a trigger warning. I will not give away anything so no spoilers, but if animal abuse is a trigger for you like it is me, please don't read this. I couldn't finish the book but it seems to be following the same path as the other 3 as far as how it will end up.

recensione "a cura del blog Libri magnetici" by Meghan

Ten years have passed since Daisy and Blake last saw each other, since that last evening at the lake, when she, a little high, found the courage to give him a kiss.
Ten years and a whole life in two different parts of the continent, as she has returned to England and both have a different experience: Daisy is no longer the same, both in appearance and feelings.
In a first part of the book it is precisely this that Blake does not want to accept. It is not only her hair but that carefree girl, of the summers at the lake, is no more: life has reserved many disappointments and sufferings, not least a relationship that in addition to violence, has made her live moments that have led her to feel responsible for the death of her beloved dog.For this reason, returning to California is a sort of rebirth for Daisy. At the beginning what they both rebuild is precisely that carefree friendship they had and that Blake, also thanks to his "wild" charm, manages to bring back to her, with the smiles and the help of the sweet labrador Betsy.

«Nothing else exists in this moment except me and him, and the knowledge that he’s always been able to make laugh better than anyone. He’s always been able to speak to my soul and make it sing.»

The male protagonist has a growth in this story that proceeds slowly but gradually: from a strong attraction, which as boys was a sort of latent "crush", he understands that he really loves Daisy and that his love makes her strong, to the point of wanting to return to England to participate in the trial against her ex.

« Life gives you chances. It's up to you whether you take them. Call it free will..»

Not only a story of friends who understand that they love each other but also of awareness of mistakes and second chances.Surely in this volume the relationship with nature and respect for animals are the main theme, and the author manages to describe it also in relation to the life choices of the various characters, without appearing too obvious or forced.Blake is the brother of the protagonist of another volume of the series but this story is completely independent of the previous one and therefore readable independently.

Four petals and half.

Quattro petali e mezzo.

Mr. Wild and wonderful… these men just keep getting better

So if you’ve read all of Elle’s previous Men Series books then you will have already met Blake Anderson. Younger, cheekier and wilder brother of her first alpha male, Jay Anderson. I think I fell a little bit in love with him even then, but now Mr. Wild has his own book… and it’s just as fantastic as the first 3 books.

Seriously, the more of Elle’s books I read the more I love her stories and the ease with which she immediately engages you in her fabulous characters. I feel an instant connection with her leading ladies and her alpha men are just deliciously delectable in every single way. Once I start reading I cannot put them down. I’m drawn in… immersed in their world and living every emotion with them; every high, every low, every laugh out loud, every sob your heart out. I am there. In the moment and feeling like I’d do anything to get these characters to find their piece of happiness.

So, Blake and Daisy… or ‘Dee’ as she becomes. In essence, this is a second chance, friends to lovers tale of lost loves and traumatic experiences. Whilst Blake has followed his passion and found his place in life with his gorgeous dog, Betsy - there is still something missing. He’s still living in his childhood neighbourhood - the small lakeside town where everyone knows everyone, but it’s never felt the same since his friend Daisy stopped visiting.

Ten years have passed since her aunt died and her regular visits abruptly ended. Three of those years, she las cut ties completely. So when a very different and emotionally disconnected Dee arrives back in Hope Cove, Blake can’t help but hope that maybe this is his second chance to take the opportunity he missed when they were 17.

The trouble is, Daisy or Dee has changed. And it’s for good reason. The last few years of her life back in England have been a harrowing ordeal that has left broken and damaged. Can Blake fix her? Can he show her what it feels like to be adored and loved? Will she even allow him to try?

I’ve said it with every single one of these books… I have fallen in love!! Just with all Elle’s other male leads, I have become completely besotted with this gorgeous hunk of a man who is the embodiment of male sexual perfection and yet funny, witty, crazy, and wild - whilst still being able to be the most caring, adorable, protective, attentive and incredible boyfriend any woman could ever wish to have at her side.

Their bedroom antics are seriously hot but their little exchanges and Blake’s constant innuendos just had me constantly giggling.

At the end when everything starts to unravel, there was serious tension and I was so worried that Blake would t get to his woman in time. My heart was literally in my throat when he thinks he’s too late. Poor Blake.

The epilogue is just wonderful and gave me all the feels just as I knew it would.

I’m sad though… because I’ve got to wait to find out if Mr. Parker is going to live up to these four incredible alphas. I’m 100% sure he will… so I am so excited to read this as soon. As I can.
Well done Elle for yet another fabulous book that I have loved from page-to-glorious-page.

This is such a beautiful and layered love story!

The characters are so well written and so easy to fall in love with. I found Daisy’s story really intriguing and was instantly hooked and eager to find out what had happened in her past, and what drove her back to Hope Cove.

I absolutely adored the growing connection between Blake and Daisy and found it had the perfect balance of drama, romance, humour, and steam. Their journey definitely had its highs and lows, and Elle did a fantastic job in bringing these characters to life and really immersing the reader in their developing relationship.

The secondary characters were all well written and added value to the read… and what can I say about Betsy… for me she nearly stole the show! What a gorgeous fur baby! I loved the bond she had with Blake and Daisy, and that she carried through the whole story.

This was a beautifully written story about heartache, loss, finding yourself, and true love set in a gorgeous small town. If you love emotional reads with the perfect amount of steam, a relatable and loveable heroine, and a drool-worthy hero then look no further.

Amazing work by Elle! And I absolutely can’t wait for her next read.

Elle has the power to make me fall in love with every new man she writes and Blake Anderson is no different. Captured by Mr Wild is the fourth book in the Men series and God I love him. Friends to lovers is one of my favourite tropes and Elle has done it to perfection. What I love most about this book is the perfect balance of romance, twists, steam, humour and also the exploration of themes beyond love, such as friendship, family, loss and self-discovery.

Daisy used to visit her aunt at Hope Cove every year, where she would spend the summer break with her best friends Blake, Kayla and Travis exploring nature. She stopped coming when her aunt passed and soon she dropped off the face of the Earth. Ten years later, she returned to Hope Cove. Her friends were excited to have her back, but they sensed that something was off. She was not the girl she once was and she calls herself Dee. Blake is fast becoming a star following the success of his survival TV show. He has always loved the outdoors and he is passionate about helping people find their inner strength. Will he be able to guide Daisy to find herself again?

Blake is my ultimate book boyfriend. He is hot, kind, funny, sweet, caring and dreamy. The whole package. He is the reason I had a smile on the whole time I was reading the book. I don’t think anyone could resist him. While he has the ability to rip you apart with his bare hands if you hurt his girl, he also has the power to piece you back together. His dirty mouth is unlike others, it is laced with playfulness. I lost count of how many times he cracked me up. The shower sex scene is one of the hottest I’ve ever read and it lives rent free in my head. Btw, I got dibs on this man.

Daisy is someone I want to be best friends with. She is such a beautiful, positive, carefree, lovely ray of sunshine. My heart broke for her knowing what she went through with her ex, how he changed her and destroyed her. Luckily, she has a massive support system. Blake, Kayla, Travis who are fiercely loyal and supportive of her, as well as Maria and Vera who are the unsung heroines in her journey. Of course, Blake’s chocolate lab Betsy plays such an important role. I love how she brings people together and her presence honestly adds so much colour and fun to the story.

Elle’s writing is flawless and her stories are always so well-thought-out. She thinks of every single little detail and manages to bring them all together towards the end. All the stars for Blake, Daisy and Betsy 🐾

1st reading: Well written prose but with poor punctuation (and one or two British words used where American ones would be more appropriate, e.g., no American would call a flashlight a torch). The plot is predictable, but there are several subplots that keep it interesting. The main characters, as well as some of the secondaries, are well-developed, and the two main characters both show growth over the course of the novel.
Blake and Daisy have known each other since they were teenagers, but at age 17, Daisy leaves for home in Britain at the end of the summer and never comes back. It's now 10 years later and she's returned to Hope Cove to clear out her aunt's house - but she's really there to escape her ex, who's an abusive criminal. Daisy is suffering from trauma suffered at Mickey's hands and is reluctant to open up, but slowly Blake and their other friends draw her out. And then the predictable happens...
Daisy has hoped to forget her past while she's in Hope Cove, but Blake helps her to remember - who she is, who she can be, what she stands for, and that she is *strong*. In turn Daisy helps Blake (eventually, as we learn in the epilogue) to embrace his tender, gentler side, his artistic side that he expresses through his photography.
Of the four books by this author that I have read thus far, I feel like this is her most successful. Are there errors? Yes, but they're forgivable. It's successful because the characters show real dimensionality and true growth, and it all feels organic and not forced. What initially prevents Daisy from deciding to follow the path of happiness - coming back to Blake after Mickey's trial - is a genuine lack of confidence in herself and a belief that their relationship is temporary, based on much of the evidence she's seen (though not on her deep knowledge of the kind of person Blake is, which should have been the foundation of her views on their relationship, but she got there in the end). At no point did it feel like the conflict between Blake and Daisy was contrived. So, well done.
The next book is the one I've been looking forward to. Fingers crossed that it doesn't disappoint.

The only reason this book isn't 5 stars is because the author had trigger warnings for everything else except the ANIMAL ABUSE!!! Not only was it a thing discussed during the middle of the book, but it was graphic!! That was horrible to read. As someone who works with animals and rescues, it was too much. I almost stopped reading right then and there.

"I know who I am. Other people’s opinions of me don’t define me.”

Blake is what every woman should want in a man. He's strong and gentle. He's smart and funny. Yes, he's gorgeous, but he has such a good heart. The way he takes care of his dog Betsy and the way he is so gentle with Daisy. He was exactly what she needed to try and heal. To remember who she was before her ex tried to destroy her.

"It creeps in like a poison, and by the time you know something is wrong, it’s too late. They have you. They worm their way into your head and make you believe you deserve the way they speak to you, the way they use their fists. Make you think it’s your fault.”

This quote is so accurate to how abusers fool their victims into believing they aren't worth it. Reading this and Daisy's fear broke my heart. She thought she was weak because that's what her ex said. She thought she was at fault for everything when he was the monster. I'm so glad Daisy found the strength to leave. I'm so glad she remembered who she is. That what Mick did to her didn't define her. What he did to those dogs doesn't define who she is and that she wasn't at fault!

“Your soul doesn’t change, Daisy. It’s burned in."

Again, Blake is amazing. He stood by her through anything. He fought for her when she wanted to disappear. He was there every step of the way.

Besides the animal abuse, the other thing that really ticked me off was Cindy. Her pettiness and jealousy almost killed Daisy. She should have known better when she heard Daisy was running from an ex. You don't move across the ocean to get away from an ex unless he did something serious! I hate that she didn't suffer any repercussions for that.

A bit boring.. i Think the last couple of chapters where the best ones. But the books so become very predictable, it doesn’t really feel like the men are there own person, cause they are so alike, just different job and at bit different looks.
But the way they talk and look at mfc and do the *fun* is just all the same.
Also the way the mfc talks in her mind, and behave is very similar to every other female character. So it gets very repetitive.. I ended on skimming a lot of the books, cause it felt like I had already read it.
I have read all the books now, and reed walker is definitely the best in, it made me believe they actually loves each other and knows each other. There where connections, and funny moments between them, where as the other books just had Lust, I didn’t believe any of the other books that the mc actually loved each other. It also made it hard to really understand why the mfc would forgive the men for what they did, cause there wasn’t any love between them.

And the way they forgave them, which is the main reason I didn’t t like the books, they literally was like “I can’t stop staring at his lips, oh my panties are wet. YES I forgive you”. Even tho they did not deserve forgiveness, cough ‘Griffin’ cough.. ( <- the worst one of them, which made me not want to read any of the other books).

I have read all the books, and will read the next in with Logan Rich. I am a bit nervous about how that one will turn out, cause he has Ben portrayed as a breast obsessed man, I mean he was on a date with a woman and then sat there staring down another woman chest, staring at her breast the whole time.. there are a lot of moments in the other books with him and women…. he doesn’t sound promising, and the conflict in that one is probably going to be about him being obsessed with women breast… sigh..

But I will still read..

Overall a bit boring, very repetitive, and easy read but looong.. Reed walker is the best!
