Tayler Diaz, an oncologist working in the small town of Yearwood, North Carolina, stumbles upon Gage Wolfe's virtually lifeless body when leaving for the day after a long shift at Yearwood Medical. While phoning for help to get him into the hospital for treatment, Gage makes one last declaration that sends a chill straight to her bones: "Just let me die, love."
Determined to save his life, Tayler helps Gage get through what he'd intended to be his last night alive. To return the favor, Gage offers to head a home remodel project for a house bequeathed to her by one of her patients' late great-grandfather. However, when he encounters something in the woods, something that acts very much like a predator with its sights set on Tayler, he realizes that what he now owes her is worth much more than a renovation.
Oh my goodness this book had me up all hours of the night reading it's definitely a page turner! This is the love journey of Gage and Tayler. He's just what the title says he's the assassin and he's also very troubled. He's also an ex Australian black ops soldier. And that's not even why he's troubled. He meets the love of his life Tayler (angel ) at his lowest point. In fact she almost runs him over because he's laying drunk on the floor of a parking garage. And honey child goes on from there. And there is a cray cray stalker. That alone is a page turner I am sure you will enjoy this novel. This novel has the right amount of romance it's definitely for the grown and sexy !! definitely five stars. <3
I hate everyone in this book. This book is too cliched, and the characters are extremely one-dimensional. I can't stand silly heroines and the H's character is just ridiculous. The plot progression is stupid. Total DNF.
This author is very well known. I have tried to read her stories before but have not been drawn into the stories at all. I could not get into Fated her last story. I thought I would try again to read a story written by this author via Kindle Unlimited. To my pleasant surprise this story drew me in.
This is Tayler and Gage's story. The story was smooth flowing to read and I loved the easy way the relationship developed between the couple.
I enjoyed reading this story very much and would highly recommend it.
5.0⭐️ NEW TITLE: THE WOLF This captivating story has all of those elements we crave: a sexy, but emotionally scarred hero, an intelligent, quick-witted, kick-ass heroine, intense suspense, and sizzling, tantalizing sex. The cast of secondary characters beg for their own stories. Further, the dog Ares is adorable. Can’t ask for more than that!
Angels and Assassins begins with the doctor, Tayler, who is attepting to rescue Gage, who tells her to just let him die. She refuses to allow that to happen. She tells him he matters. Gage’s grudging respect and gratitude for Tayler morphs into a budding friendship, protectiveness and genuine love for her. Tayler falls for Gage rather quickly too; however, there is a threat to her life that draws them ever closer. The villain is truly evil, but his motivations are a bit unclear. Nevertheless, the story culminates in a very satisfying HEA. The writing and dialogue are excellent. (P.S. Very few editing/proofreading errors—5 or less.) BRAVO! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
This book was surprisingly good. After reading the mixed reviews, I decided to take a chance. The people who gave this book anything less than a 4, I don't quite understand why. I understand that these are their opinions, but this book had drama, sex, comedy, mystery, I wasn't disappointed. I actually thought that this was an paranormal story, to my surprise, it's far from that. Gage was intense and Tayler was fun, playful, strong, just all woman. Plus she tamed the beast within Gage. I loved how she told Gage to beat Eric's mass...limbo.

OMG! This was an amazing book. I was browsing through Amazons Top 100 Paid Multicultural & Interracial Romance books and came across this book. I was intrigued by the title because it seemed a contradiction with Angels and Assassins. So I read the description and I was even more intrigued because it involved a woman saving the life of man, who then needed to save her life from some unknown forces. I was sure it was some type of paranormal story.
I was sooo wrong! This book was about a doctor named Tayler who comes across a man at night on the brink of almost dying. As a doctor she swore to do no harm so she knows she must save his life; however, the stranger makes a statement to Tayler that has her determined she will save his life regardless of the oath. (No spoilers here. You definitely must read this book).
Gage (the hero) is fighting so serious internal demons that make him not want to live, to not care about anything or anyone. He comes across Tayler in one of his darkest hours and for some reason his gut instinct makes him feel protective of her because she was so willing to save his life even when he didn't really want to live. What Gage wasn't expecting; after deciding to only stay in town long enough to help Tayler renovate a house she had inherited. What he wasn't expecting was the need to stay in town to actually protect Tayler's LIFE.
Tayler finds herself somehow trusting a man; whose life she just saved, to now save her life and Gage finds himself needing to save the life of a woman who saved his. Two lives were brought together by chance, but two souls were brought together by need.
Again in my opinion this book was amazing! It wasn't until the end of the story that I realized this was part of a saga about three best friends from medical school. I look forward to going back and reading about Tayler's male best friends Ethan Stewart and Kellen Edwards. I have read other books from this author but this is the best so far.
4 Stars - It's so rare and refreshing to read an accurately edited book. This along with a good storyline was just about perfect.
Edited to add full review:
First of all, did I mention that this book didn't have one ERROR, not one! Kudos to the author and editor!!!! This is my first book by this author, but I will definitely try anything else she's written.
As usual, I normally choose a book by either recommendation or the cover… This one was because of the cover! At first I thought this was going to be one big pity party surrounded by Tayler saving Gage, but it was really about them saving each other. Tayler saved Gage and helped him get through his issues of violently losing his family and Gage saved Tayler from a sicko to ensure that she gets a chance to see his future. They had really good chemistry and did actually work on being friends first before moving onto becoming lovers – even with all of Gage’s brooding and skepticism.
The only that that I would have asked for is if the author had concentrated a little more on the sicko – he was super crazy and super sick. It would have been nice to know on a deeper level, his progression and how he truly thought his actions affected his daughter. We get a quick glimpse of it, but more would have been nice.
Gage’s support team was a welcome surprise in the book – I hope this means that we’ll read more about them. If so, I’ll be all over that. Overall, this was a really good book.
Not bad. I can't say I love it , but it was OK. It was kind of slow for me and I was really not that interested in the romance, I just didn't believe in the relationship between Tayor and Gaga. The story line was ok. I do love a good mystery and what's more mysterious that a crazy stalker, but the romance just did not do it for me.
This book had me sitting on the edge of my seat. I wanted to keep reading but at times afraid. Gotta love a whodunit. I loved how Gage and Tayler's first meeting held so much meaning, even when they didn't know it. The Insta love was a bit much but I will chalk it up to being in the stressful situation.
IR/ BWWM. Oh this was good. Love a military/SF man. Australian!!! *lip smacking* I just loved Taylor and Gage’s whole vibe. I was looking for an epilogue. Even though the book ended with no glaringly loose ends, I still have some questions!
Angels and Assassins in not your average romance novel. Tayler is a small town physician with a heart of gold who stumbles upon a stranger attempting to end his life. Instead of allowing him to wallow in his misery, she saves him and allows him to sleep off his misery in an old house that was willed to her. As a way to repay her, Gage assigns himself to the task of renovating the old home for her, but soon learns that, Tayler's life is in danger. Pairing up with her dog, Ares, Gage vows to protect her with his life. Gage learns that the angel sent to save his life will need a savior of her own. Amidst preventing Tayler from becoming entangled in the grasp of a serial killer, a romance ensues. This book was non-stop romance, action and suspense. The author took us on a roller coaster ride inside the character's minds; a woman who wants to save the world, a man who carries guilt and blame for the loss of his loved ones, and a psychotic killer who has his eyes set on the perfect prey. I am singing the praises of K Alex Walker. This book was nothing short of phenomenal. I stayed up until after midnight—with a 5am alarm looming in the distance—just to finish and I have no regrets. Please continue and write about Gage's friends. They are amazing enough to have their own stories...especially Giorgio. Readers, I assure you, if you pick up this book, clear your schedule because you won't put it down.
I found this somewhat interesting but also thought it dragged quite a bit. For such a potentially high action, romantic thriller, it was a little surprising to me that this wasn’t more of a page-turner. The plot featuring Tayler, a super nice but kick butt pediatric oncologist, and Gage, an emotionally damaged ex-Special Forces-Type, who she rescues from self-destruction, and who uncovers the sinister plot of a serial killer who’s stalking her, promised much excitement but didn’t really deliver.
I’m a huge fan of romantic suspense but something about this book just didn’t capture me. Something was missing even though the writing was good, something just felt disjointed and disconnected emotionally even though there was A LOT of deeply emotional content in this. I think this felt a little like I was joining a series mid-way and missing context that would have made the story feel a lot richer. I do like the concept and the writing enough to give the series another chance with book 2, and indeed, it was Book 4 of this series that was recommended to me so hopefully i will like the series more as it progresses. I didn’t think this was at all bad or anything, but I did think this was “just okay” to “meh.”
What can I say about Tayler and Gage's story. This book was really good. It had everything, suspense, serial killer, romance, love, great plot, and I could go on and on. I freaking loved this story. It was so interesting and kept me on edge from beginning to end. I loved Tayler's and Gage's chemistry, it was magnetic. I loved the way that Gage and her dog Ares were so overprotective of her, that she compared the 2. The way they meant was the start of a fated relationship that's meant to be and I loved every minute of it. Great job again K Alex, can't wait to read the next one, and I'd love to read more about Gage's friends(hint, hint) lol
In Angels & Assassins: BWWM Romance, author K. Alex Walker brings us suspense and romance. Tayler Diaz a pediatric oncologist "rescues" Gage Wolfe as he lays in the path of her car. Unbeknownst to Tayler she has deadly stalker who aim to kidnapper her that very night. As Tayler and Gage become closer and the sparks start to fly danger is seemly around the corner as Tayler stalker starts to target not only her dog, friends and a patient. Some make it and some don't. This is a book that I did not want to put down and Tayler and Gage burn up the pages of this novel as Gage becomes her assassin and Tayler his angel. This is a must read.
The first half was good, the second half not so much. The story felt like 2 separate stories. (Spoiler: The stalker plot line came out of no where). I thought this book was going to be a romance about a doctor saving a man & them developing a relationship. Once she saved him and he worked on the house, everything became about the stalker and I feel the romance took a back seat. The story had promise but was a let down. And the title of the book and the cover had nothing to do with the story. Also the characters were not developed very well.
Great story. Gage and Taylor were definitely “fated” and I loved the action. Their story gives hope to all the hopeless romantics (myself included). I finished this book in 24 hours; I was reading another story and stopped reading it for this one and now I’m on to the next one [in the series lol].
Awesome!! 5 Stars!!! I literally did not stop reading. I was riveted and loved the development of their relationship. It was beautifully written and I loved every minute of this book. K. Alex Walker is now one of my go to favorite authors. Loved it!
This book was excellent! It had an angst filled badass assassin hero, a damsel on distress, a serial killer and a whole host of other characters leading to...more books! What's not to like?
