For Ryan Hillman, life has been one of endless drama and heartbreaks. Returning home for a fresh start was what he needed to get over his fame-seeking ex. He has sworn off women and drama for a long time …. Never again. That is until he runs into his alluring next-door neighbor. She is mesmerising and makes him feel things he didn’t expect to feel soon again. He begins to develop strong feelings for her, and realizing his daughter has also fallen in love with the woman is the icing on the cake.
Things soon turn sour when he discovers that his new love interest, Amelia, holds a secret that could tear his family apart. What started out as a beautiful relationship now seems headed for ruins as a result of Ryan’s grudge.
Is he ready to lose the woman he loves just because of their parents' past mistakes?
The story is a quick nine chapter read + an epilog, so the storyline moves very rapidly. There are holes of time that I would have loved to have seen – how the relationship builds, a little bit of guilt from Amelia, Ryan’s resistance to letting Amelia into his life and worrying about his daughter’s growing attraction to her – but it flowed well enough that it didn’t feel like a huge hole in the story.
The steam level in this book starts at a much higher level than the first book in the series, which I liked. Being that it’s a short story style text, there’s limited bedroom scenes: most are referred to without details.
This is a tangent story to Rekindled Attraction, the second chance story of Cheryl and Amon. Ryan is Cheryl’s brother, who the reader meets briefly in that story.

Amelia falls for Ryan before she finds out he's her step brother through marriage. Now she's afraid to tell him. The author does a terrific job pulling you in and had me glued to the pages to see what happens. I loved little Hailey and her relationship with Amelia. The story moves quickly and smoothly with descriptive scenes and she delivers a great addition to the series.

This was my first read from this author. I really liked the story, however the only problem I had with it was that it was written in the third person point of view. Sorry, but this is a deal breaker for me because it makes the story impersonal for me. A quick read.

When Ryan moves back to his hometown he has an insta attraction to his new neighbor, landlord and ultimately his step sister. Amelia is nothing like her gold digging mother and she falls instantly in love withbRyan and his little girl. Love their story.
