Tennessee Thunderbolts #3

Rookie’s Regret

Rate this book
Lioness. That’s the first word that comes to mind when I see the brilliant redhead selling cupcakes at the hockey arena.

With the soul of an artist and the spirit of a nomad, Bea Turner is gorgeous, quirky, and refreshing.

She’s also my teammate’s little sister.

As the Tennessee Thunderbolts' Rookie, I should steer clear. I’m here to play hockey and provide much-needed financial security for my family. To do that, I need to avoid distractions.

Bea doesn’t just distract me; she flips my world upside down.

One bad joke has me pursuing her. One date and I crave more. Calling her mine? Well, now I’m dreaming of a future.

The life of a hockey player — trades, travel, uncertainty — isn’t for the heart of a creative. Bea desires adventure and possibility, not early morning skates and strict exercise regimens.

When I’m thrust into a situation at odds with Bea’s dream career, I know I can’t hold her back.

If we’re meant to be, we’ll make it work. But what if we’re not?

What if my greatest regret is letting my lioness go?

"I'll be your forever date, Bea."

What an emotional roller coaster! This book wrecked me and tore my heart into a million little pieces but in the best possible way and I couldn't get enough of it! Without a doubt, my favorite of the series so far, Rookie's Regret is the story of Cole, the rookie playing for the Thunderbolts, and Bea, Cole's teammate's little sister. Sweet yet steamy, filled with tender moments mixed with intense need and desire, all overshadowed by challenges and obstacles along the way. Their journey had the power to evoke so much emotion, so many tears, but also so much satisfaction in seeing their inevitable HEA.

When Cole meets Bea selling cupcakes at the arena, the natural pull between them is captivating. Uncertainty and naked vulnerability give way to developing the confidence to make life decisions and to choose the path leading to true happiness. The angst builds with the forbidden nature of their relationship but they overcome the odds, finding their way towards a future together. Cole and Bea bring out the best in each other, never losing sight of the important things in life. Both follow their passions, work to fulfill their dreams and strive to excel in their respective career choices. Trust and communication become key issues along with valuing and believing in oneself while living life to the fullest without regrets.

Bea is a free spirit, a talented artist searching for freedom and possibilities, trying to become the woman she's meant to be. Fierce behind her sweetness, she's a true lioness ready to take on the world. Her creative passion and growing sense of self are beautiful to watch evolve. And Cole is the perfect match for her.

Determined, disciplined and driven, Cole has dedicated his life to hockey, his escape, the only place he finds peace and refuge from the pain of his past. Experiencing a difficult childhood and taking on a protective role, first of himself and then of those he cared about, when will trying to prove to everyone who has ever doubted him that he can rise above it all become too much? Will he push himself so hard and so far that he loses it all?

This book was simply everything I could have asked for! Cole and Bea were the perfect couple with a love so consuming it took my breath away. I loved Bea's relationships with her brothers, the team culture, the friendships throughout, Gran, the lessons learned, the letters Cole and Bea wrote each other and even Cole's silly little jokes. But perhaps most notable was that this story was inspiring, not only as a romance, but as a reminder to never give up on your dreams. I was truly blown away and I can't wait to see where this series goes next!

This was ….not great. The story didn’t quite make sense and the characters were not like, adults? I mean they were, but you could have told me they were high school seniors and I would’ve believed you based on their actions and behavior.

I don’t know, I feel like there was no real point to this story and all the drama was just made up so that there was drama (does that make sense?) and honestly none of this even needed to happen so idk. This is the third book in the series and I’m like, iffy on it because I still don’t buy into a small town having an NHL team and these books just keep getting weirdly worse.

Cole's whole focus has been hockey since his uncle took him and encouraged him to play - it's what keeps him going, helps keep the demons from his childhood at bay. Then a redheaded lioness captures his interest and flips his world upside down. He just has to convince the beauty selling the cupcakes that they can be good together.

Bea has dreams of opening up her own pottery shop. But that dream has to be put on the shelf while she comes home to care for her beloved Gran. Meanwhile, her hockey playing brother Beau has arranged a temp job for her of selling cupcakes at the stadium where the Thunderbolts play. It's not her dream job of course, but it does bring her Cole, the sweetest rookie she could possibly imagine. But are they moving too fast? Is she losing herself to him and his dream? Can the rookie and his lioness both have their dreams and make a relationship work at the same time?

Two opposites with demons from their pasts, it's amazing they worked together, but they did, and I loved them together. The emotional layers their story has are woven with moments of fun lightheartedness, serious chemistry, and a sweet couple surrounded by lots of equally amazing family and teammates. I'm excited for the next hockey god to fall in love, especially Bea's brother Beau and his high school sweetheart.

In Rookie’s Regret, the third book in the Tennessee Thunderbolts, Azzi delivers a relatable and swoon worthy sports romance that will leave you wanting for more!

At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Beatrice “Bea” Turner, who after receiving an art degree in Nashville, she is moving back home to take care of her grandmother. With the vision to start her own pottery business, her brother Beau who happens to play for the Tennessee Thunderbolts, is able to get her a job selling cupcakes at the arena. Beau quickly warns her to not get tangled up with a hockey player, but she tells him that no one is going to be interested in a quirky person like herself. She would usually be covered in clay and dust, it’s her happy place and what keeps her centered. There are hopes and dreams that Bea has for herself, but her family is her priority so coming back home is what she feels that she need to focus on now.

Until one day she meets Cole Philips, the minute he walks up to the Primrose Sweets pop-up stand, Bea is immediately taken by him. He is funny and telling her jokes that make him stand to her. There is something genuine about him that Bea likes and quickly finds herself telling him all about her. Yet, things change the minute she finds out that he is actually a Thunderbolt player. Their chemistry keeps pulling them together so much so that they decide to give their relationship a shot. But it’s Cole’s inability to communicate with her that starts to become an issue and when she gets the opportunity of a lifetime, Bea needs to decide if continuing a relationship is worth it or not.

For Cole Philips, playing for the Tennessee Thunderbolts has allowed him to be able to help his family financially. After losing his parents, it was his uncle who raised him and Cole wants to be able to provide for his uncle and cousin. Hockey became his world growing up and it gave him an outlet to be free and taught him to never lose focus. It’s for that reason that he has never been a romantic relationship before and avoids confrontations at all costs. But the gorgeous curly redhead selling cupcakes has his attention right away. He is attracted to her and her personality. Although he has a strict routine, Cole makes it his mission to win her over even if it means stopping by the pop-up everyday to buy a cupcake from her. Which it doesn’t take long, it’s easy to talk to Bea, they have a lot in common. Yet, the more he talks to her, the more Cole wants to start a future with her. Hockey has always been at the top of his priority list and he has to learn how to let Bea into his world before it’s too late.

I throughly enjoyed reading Rookie’s Regret, Azzi does a great job telling a relatable story with lovable characters. It’s evident that they both have a lot to learn, they are still finding their way and once they are able to trust each other, they are able to lean on one another after that. We get some cameos from previous characters in past books as well. I really loved all the jokes and how the story wraps up at the end. It fit the characters so well and there is hope for them to start a future together. I would highly recommend checking out this story and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series! :)

Wow, what an exhaustive but emotionally satisfying journey to HEA for a couple who's truly likable and worth rooting for! As each fights for their dreams they find unexpected romance that will put them through an even bigger test, one that brought a tear to my eye while putting a smile on my face. From the first page to the last readers will find much to like about this book. From its sweet words and deeds, to a crackling connection that warms the heart, to a journey of empowerment that wraps a beautiful bow around this story...readers will find this a real winner!

Cole Phillips is a rookie hockey player for the Tennessee Thunderbolts, a young man determined to be successful as he has a lot riding on him. Cole's a truly good guy, one with a big heart, a strong protective side, and a painful past where hockey became a refuge. So he's determined to keep his eyes on the prize. But when that prize becomes his teammate's little sister, things take an unexpected turn for him in a romance that pulled me in completely.

Bea Turner is the little sister to hockey player Beau and has moved to town to care for her Gran. Bea's an artist with a kind heart and is a real people pleaser. She's full of energy with a desire to be more, but feels an obligation to her family since they've cared for her since her parents died. Obligations, and loss of loved ones, are what binds these two after their sizzling first encounter and has them working to help each other reach their dreams in an empowering romance.

Bea and Cole are wonderful together! They bring out the best in each other and are each other's biggest cheerleader. Cole's the best kind of book boyfriend, the kind who's utterly adorable with his words and deeds, and who made me fall for him wholeheartedly even with a misstep or two along the way. Bea's an admirable heroine, one who's easy to relate to and who you want to see achieve all that she wants out of life. Theirs is a romance that pushed all my happy buttons, making me smile and warming my heart with joy. Their pairing might've been forbidden but it was pure perfection for me! Add in all cast of wonderful supporting characters, teammates to Cole whose brotherly banter added an extra layer of happiness that has me excited for the next installment. With a delightful first meeting, a sweet and sensual romance full of endearing moments, this became a romance full of heart and soul that was a wonderful addition to the sports romance genre.

This is a story about two young people who are from two different worlds but are both trying to do too much for everyone else but themselves.

Bea Turner is back in Tennessee. Feeling like she owes her four older brothers for their support, she is stepping up to take care of their sassy grandmother. Her hockey-playing brother Beau has also hooked her up with a job at the ice rink to sell cupcakes while she tries to figure out how to make her ultimate dream come true: opening a pottery shop.

What she did not expect is meeting Colt Phillips, the team rookie who has taken interest in her.

Colt also has his own ultimate dream, but supporting the family who had his back comes before that. To prove to the club and to the NHL that he is worth the investment, he has been pushing himself via a strict training regimen. One that does not include cupcakes and a shy but fierce redhead.

Gina Azzi has an uncanny ability to draw you into the character aspect of her sport romance reads. I was emotionally invested in Bea and Colt's happily ever after since their meet-cute. I love that their development paralleled each other and centered around following your dream without losing sight of what is important.

I especially adore that Colt was a fantastic alpha-roll. He has respectful and gentle but protective and strong. His presence never overpowers that of Bea's -- who is still trying to find herself in a family of dominant personalities.

Their connection is undeniably sweet like the cupcakes Bea sells, and Gina Azzi does a great job of escalating their chemistry to nice steamy moments.

This is our third visit to the Tennessee Thunderbolts universe, and while there are references to characters from previous and future books, Azzi gives you enough context to read this as a standalone.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a lovely mix of lightheartedness while also dealing with serious topics. It’s a cute sports romance and it is definitely a read that can help you out of a reading slump because of how lighthearted it is.
Bea has just moved back to Tennessee, she plans to help with her Gran and eventually Bea wants to open up her own business- a pottery business. In the mean time she’s been working with cupcakes. (her older brother Beau set up the job for her) Bea has a hard time with being confident in herself and standing her ground. She wants to make others happy and along the way her dreams can get lost in that. Cole is an amazing hockey player. He’s selfless and determined. Cole and Bea are both extremely kind and extremely selfless.
When these two meet it was kind of insta- love. They connected so well and they understand each other really well. I love their relationship. It was positive and a breath of fresh air. They helped each other grow into the best version of themselves and their character development is *chefs kiss*.

This book has depth with the characters and with the plot. The chemistry between Bea and Cole is amazing and I loved how the side characters helped with the plot. I loved how Bea and Cole’s personal lives weren’t glossed over, we actually got to read about their struggles while the book was still kept in a light hearted manner, I really enjoyed that.

Thank you Gina Azzi and Wildfire marketing for this ARC!

5 Star Review of Rookie's Regret (Tennessee Thunderbolts #3) by Gina Azzi

This is rookie Cole Phillips and Bea Turner’s story and it was well written and entertaining with characters whose story you cannot help but become invested in. Bea should be off limits t Cole, after all she is one of his teammate’s little sister and yet there is something about the quirky woman that intrigues him.
I really liked Cole, there is something about him that calls to me and I adored Bea, what a wonderful woman she is. Rookie’s Regret was an emotional roller coaster of a read that ticked all the boxes for me.
The camaraderie among the members of the Tennessee Thunderbolts adds an additional layer to the story and is one I found entertaining. There were equal amounts of heat, emotion, romance and witty banter in this book.
I was cheering for them to overcome their miss communication and trust issues, their self doubts an for them to believe that they have found their person, their other half.

This is the 3rd book in this amazing series, and this is Cole and Bea’s story. Bea is a sassy free spirit, who is confident and an artist, and she sells cupcakes at the hockey arena. Cole is the “Rookie” in the team, and he has dedicated his life to hockey, as a refuge from the pain from his past. There is an instant attraction between these two from the moment they meet, but she is off limits as she is his teammates little sister. Cole and Bea bring out the best of each other, and they complement each other perfectly. This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster, with sizzling chemistry, angst, family, friendships, challenges, humor, witty banter, trust, camaraderie, tension, romance, and love, which leads to a heartwrenching, and entertaining page turner.

Another visit to Tennessee and another catch up with the Thunderbolts Hockey team and their partners and this time is rookie Colt Phillips and Bea Turner’s journey. Bea should be off limits as the little sister of his teammate but after becoming friends with the quirky, sassy woman who spends her days selling cupcakes at the stadium he is finding it hard to stay in the friend zone.
I fell hard and fast for Cole and I adored Bea but what I love more than anything with this series is bond the teammates of the Thunderbolts share. This is a entertaining yet emotional read, it’s witty and it’s full of love and passion and I was happy to join Bea and Cole’s sometimes bumpy road to happiness. This couple both have issues that made them stronger and even more loveable as they opened up to each other, family and teammates. A perfect addition to this great series.

I loved Cole and Bea! They are both so young and so driven, sometimes to a fault!
I was definitely looking forward to see how Cole is based on the first two books of the series. And he learned a lot from his teammates about putting himself out there! He wooed Bea like a pro!
And Bea…what a wonderful character! She is so driven and luckily has so much support from her family! I loved to watch as the relationship between Cole and Bea grew!
BTW there needs to be a small spinoff series with the rest of the Turner brothers not connected to the hockey world!

This book started off with potential, the first half of the book and the relationship between bea and cole was hella cute. Enjoyed seeing their love blossom and the lovely moments where they support each other very well.

The second half of the book went downhill because of an issue that often appear in books which I dislike: lack of communication. Cole and bea did the silent thing, not communicate their fears to one another, which led to the fall of their relationship.

Disappointing. If not for this issue, would have given the book a higher rating.

If you're in the mood for a quick read, low-angst, adorable HEA, this one's for you. Bea and Cole were a fun couple to watch come into their own and I was 100% here for the big family/lots of protective brothers energy. Another great addition to the series - Beau and Celine, though, I'm totally here for their second chance ;)

This is Bea and Cole’s story. It took me a minute to get into this book but once more details came to light I was hooked. Sports romances are some of my favorite reads. This one has a full tribe surrounding our couple that includes family, friends, and teammates.

Both of these characters have lost parents but came from very different backgrounds. They also have supportive families that want them to follow their dreams and live their best lives.

It has some angsty moments, compliments of an ex. Eek. Best of all though these two know how to spice up the page. Wink. Definitely a good book. I need to check other books from this author.

Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO.

From the title, you might think this would be a second-chance romance. But it isn't. Bea and Cole’s story is pretty light-hearted and sweet. I loved how they came to know each other and then develop their relationship further. I feel like their relationship is pretty easy until they made it difficult. It all comes back to their characteristics too. So they have to find a way to work things out. I really enjoyed thier story. I finished it in no time.

Rookie’s Regret is an easy to love story that you will jump into and try to figure out what Cole’s regret will be.
Growing up with parents that had not been the best , to say the least and was raised by his Uncle who went above and beyond to help him achieve his dream of being a hockey player.
Cole wants to prove to himself and everyone that he’s not going to be like his parents in any way and he’s making choices that will be good for his future and to help his Uncle that raised him.
This story is a lot of sweet and little sad but a whole lot of fun to read.
Gina has a fun filled series with a lot of wonderful characters and I can’t wait to read the next installment!

I picked it up and got right back into the Tennessee Thunderbolts world! I really enjoyed this third book so much!

Bea is supposed, to want, to do this because her big brother, Beau, the eldest has been carrying the load. Mainly, for the family, but for her, to go after her dream, art. Right after high school, Beau joined the military. He did it, to help provide for the family, and to help his little sister reach her dream. She is an artist. He would do anything, to make sure she went off, to school especially if it meant leaving, Jay behind. Jay being her jr. and sr. high school boyfriend, who is pushing her in all the wrong directions. Not to mention, none of her family likes him.

Now, that she is finished with school and her internship, and now home, to help her soon-to-be ninety-year-old gran. Beau is unrestrained, to enjoy his professional hockey career. He has, PTSD so worry is, a part of his daily life. It's part of all the sibling's daily life. Although, communication might alleviate a great deal of that if, they might try it at all. Hence, Beau springs on her that the next day she will be starting a new job. She’s thinking, wow maybe he has been listening, it will be related, to art. Nope! At a cupcake stand at the hockey stadium.

Imagine Bea’s surprise when her ex-Jay shows up, Jay dares, to grab her wrist, to get her attention. He said they had, total about. It took a lot for her, to agree, to talk, to him. Luckily a guy, Cole in line behind, Jay is someone, who happens, to be a hockey player, and has the likes for this lioness, as he calls her. With her auburn hair and gray eyes. She is grateful for, Cole inserting himself because, Jay had grabbed her wrist surprising her, and it hurt a little. There are so many things she needs, to talk, to Beau about, Cole being one of them, starting an art studio, and still being in contact with his ex-girlfriend.

This is a story about a little sister trying, to break free of the pigeonhole her, four older brothers Beau, Brody, Bodhi, and Blake have her in. Bea wants them, to see her as a responsible, mature, and yet young woman. As someone who can do it all, now that they asked her, to come home, to care for gran. Yet, never have they asked her what her plans are, just strapped her with a job, without asking her, as if she is a teen. When she already had an agenda, her own set of goals she wants, to accomplish. The cupcake caper was causing her anxiety. There is enough of that, with the new boyfriend on such a strict exercise and diet plan. See how they all learn, to balance their lives.

Oh my stars! This book hit me right in my heart. It was so beautiful, showing how love should grow between two people. It isn't always all sunshine and rainbows, there's gotta be some rain to help it blossom. Good times and bad make it all right in the end. This book had me genuinely worried about the two main characters at times. I was silently cheering for them, crying with them, laughing at the jokes, smiling at times and hugging the book when they hit their milestones. All the feels are within the covers of this book.

Beatrice, Bea to family and friends, is the youngest sibling in the Turner family. She's the only sister so all her brothers watch out for her. She's an artist so she has the soft, tender heart that goes with being so creative. She wants to be a potter, sculpting beautiful things with her gentle hands. She's afraid of letting down her brothers and her gran, the people who mean the most to her and who raised her after her parents died when she was young. She has fulfilled her dream of art school and when her gran needs someone to move in and care for her, Bea gladly does so, putting herself after others. Her eldest brother, Beau, plays hockey for the NHL Tennessee Thunderbolts and gets her a part time gig selling cupcakes at the arena. It is here that she meets Cole, a sweet but handsome young fella. Cole is immediately attracted to the beautiful red-head selling cupcakes but doesn't tell her that he is a teammate to her brother. He wants to get to know her first without his career getting in the way. Plus he figures that her brother probably won't be too pleased with him. Bea and Cole are both struck by how similar their past is. Both had parents who died when they were young and they have put their family before themselves. They slowly fall in love, Cole enticing Bea with his quirky jokes and Bea loving his sense of humour. They each have a different way of dealing with the stress that comes into their life and when more and more situations start to pile up on them, things start to cause them to backslide. How will they cope with this turn of events?

I don't want to give anything away but this ending truly tugged at my heartstrings. I love how this series places the characters in very real settings and in true to life situations, so very relatable.

Sweet and swoony, Cole and Bea’s book delivers all the feels in a lighter and cute sort of way. Their story begins when Bea’s brother (and Cole’s teammate) helps get her a job slinging cupcakes at the arena. Cole instantly takes notice of Bea and starts buying cupcakes daily to get to know her a bit more. Eventually, he gets up the nerve to ask her out, and their relationship progresses from there. They’ve both endured loss in their pasts and are trying to navigate their way through life as newish adults, so their romance isn’t exactly trouble free. Despite how Cole and Bea feel about each other, there’s a lot going on, and we have to wait and see if they’ll be able to figure out everything going on in their own lives so they can be together.

These two are possibly the most endearing and lovable ones yet from this author. Cole wears his heart on his sleeve, and I love that we get to see a different side to a hero in a sports romance than I feel like we typically might. He’s both affable and genuine but masculine, too. And then there’s Bea, and she couldn’t be more adorable or relatable, and her character is the perfect counterpart for Cole. They’re the sorts of characters that make you believe in love, even when it’s not easy at times.

Then there’s the way their love story plays out. I don’t want to give anything away, but I love the pretense of this book. There’s something so sweet and hopeful in how their relationship plays out, and it just melted my heart. Plus, there are parts of their romance that feel sort of old fashioned but in the best way. Again, I won’t spoil it for you, but just know that it’ll leave you swooning over this couple.

I’ve been loving this series, and Rookie’s Regret is another enjoyable must read. It’s the kind of book that will leave you saying “aww,” and I can’t wait to see what’s next for the Tennessee Thunderbolts.

Cole Phillips didn’t exactly have the best start in life thanks to his parents and their drug issues, issues which led to them losing their lives, leaving him an orphan. Fortunately for Cole he was taken in by his uncle, who raised him as if he were his own, giving him all he needed in order to become the man he is today, however memories from the past still haunt him, it’s the routine which goes along with being a professional hockey player for the Tennessee Thunderbolts that goes towards keeping those demons at bay, it’s those routines which also affect his personal live and have prevented him from wanting to be in a serious relationship, until now that is. Meeting the gorgeous redhead who’s selling cupcakes at the stadium has him wanting more than he’s ever wanted before.

Bea has moved back home to look after her beloved gran, she dreams of eventually owning her own pottery shop, in the meantime though she’s selling cupcakes at the stadium of the team where her brother plays goalie for. It’s at the stadium where she initially meets Cole and after some shy introductions the pair are soon smitten with one another. Cole instantly knows that Bea is the woman for him, even knowing she’s his teammate's younger sister isn't enough to deter him from pursuing her.

Together these two are very similar, sweet in nature and neither can say no to those around them, however as a couple are things moving too fast? Is Bea losing herself to Cole and his dreams, or is it Cole losing himself to hers? Or are they worrying for nothing? Can the rookie and his lioness really have it all, their dream careers as well as the dream relationship?

This was a well written sweet sports themed romance and I look forward to seeing what’s in-store for the next hockey god to be brought to his knees.

Where do I find a Cole Phillips of my own?!

For a man that has lived a life of basically only hockey, the rookie became an almost perfect and swoon worthy book boyfriend almost immediately. Bea Turner might be his teammate's little sister but that didn't phase him in the slightest when it came to his red headed lioness. Rookie's Regret is the 3rd book in the Tennessee Thunderbolts series by Gina Azzi, but it can hold really well as a complete stand alone.

I loved that Cole and Bea's story was an almost instantaneous connection and the more they delved into each other's lives the more that they found in common. I felt all the emotions when reading their story- cracking up with laughter at Cole and his adorably bad dad jokes, swooning not only over their sweetness together but how hard Cole tries to be the best boyfriend in the history of boyfriends- hello burnt beef wellington! My heart ached at their losses and the insecurities that plagued them years later as adults.

For the majority of the book Bea and Cole's story, while it did tug at my emotions, was a fairly lighthearted and low angst/drama read. I was almost filled with dread knowing something bad was going to happen because they were just so adorable and perfect together and everything was so happy despite a few adjustments that were needed- I didn't want anything but happiness for them. The way these two supported each others dreams and aspirations made for some serious #couplegoals moments that I hated for them to have those moments where everything spun out of control and hearts were hurt.

I loved it all though and I could not put this book down- these two might be my favorite couple out of the series AND the Boston Hawks series combined.

Lots to Prove on Both Sides

With Rookie's Regret, we are back with the Tennessee Thunderbolts hockey team and focusing on the rookie of the team (duh) and his teammate's sister. Yikes.

Cole is the new guy and we've met him in previous books. Kinda shy and quiet, which usually means there's a lot going on in the background and that would be an understatement for this guy. I liked Cole instantly. He was always aware of his surroundings and others feelings, almost a detriment to him...almost. He is overcoming a terrible childhood, something that has molded him in to the man he is today, one with someting to prove, which is a heavy burden to carry.

Bea is the sister of Beau, Cole's teammate. She's got three older brothers, so to say she's babied is putting it mildly. Sharing a similar childhood experence as Cole, Bea is also out to prove herself to others, especially her brothers. They are all succesful and she wants nothing more than to show them she can to it too.

While the story of Cole and Bea felt predictable, it was a journey to get them to the end of the book in one piece. Gina Azzi threw quite a bit at this young couple and it was going to ba a miracle if they made it. Along with them each having to prove themselves, they also have friends and family constantly chiming in.

The book is well written and a great addition to the series. We are in contact with previous characters and of course gran. I just loved the relationship with Bea and her siblings and thier grandma. Rookie's Regret reads well as a stand alone, but is more fun within the series. Looks like Beau is up next and he's got all kinds of drama going on too. Sign me up!!

"Cole and Bea. I love them together. Their story is a beautiful piece of art that came from a past they grew from. Neither is expecting to find something like they have at this time in their life but they learn to embrace it no matter what issues come up.
I also loved how much of a gentleman Cole was and how he let Bea make her own decisions and pace.

There were a few times that I wasn’t a fan of side characters but their actions ended up having reason.

I FLOVED this part:
“Are you my girl, Bea?”
I’m your girl.” " ~Lindsay

"This is turning into a fantastic series. Each book has been an absolute standout. Cole & Bea’s story made me feel the whole gamut of emotions from start to finish. At times it felt like their relationship was developing too quickly, both were all in early on in the book. But when I was thinking that, either one or both of them would do or say something that made them seem older than their years and it made more sense. Both are extremely career focused which is both a plus and a minus for me. It is explained well in the book why Cole is like this, and it does mess with his head. Bea is extremely supportive of him but worries for him as well.
There is so much more I could go into about this book but I already think I have given away too much of the storyline. I will add that there are some awesome minor characters-mainly Bea’s brothers. I know I would love to see them all with their own stories one day.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book" ~Sharon

This book managed to grab me, shake me, break me, and patch me back together by the end! Cole and Bea are both trying to find their way, even if it seems like one is more successful at balancing it all for a while. And while Cole knows the risk in dating a teammate’s sister, he does it anyway. He just has to find a way to hold onto everything he loves in life. And Bea needs to learn to trust her abilities and dreams a little more. As much as these two complement each other and work toward a healthy relationship, they also have to let go of some old hurts and coping mechanisms. But maybe it’s all worth the worry and misery and heartache if they build a solid foundation for forever in the end.

I swear, my anxiety ramped up with both Cole and Bea when I thought of all they had to get done and figure out. I couldn’t even be angry at either of them for their abysmal failures at openness sometimes. I could be disappointed, but I also knew that friends and family had their backs and would never let them wallow in misery or regret for too long. This also led me to want Beau’s story even more. Because that guy is holding old hurts and regrets close, too, and I need him to let others in just as much as I needed him to help both Cole and Bea find their way toward reconciliation! Heck, this whole team has stories I can’t wait to enjoy because this is definitely a group of men and women who show up whenever needed and stick around for the hard work, which is 100% what everyone needs once in a while. So here’s to hoping for more of this team soon!

Rookie Cole is one of the sweetest cinnamon roll characters I have read in a while. He is quiet, dedicated to his team, and works hard off the ice. He parties very little and does not partake in the puck bunny scene. Cole is not only dedicated to hockey but he is dedicated to his family.
Bea fresh out of art school and back in her hometown to help her brothers care for their Grandma. Her brother, Beau hooks her up with a job at the arena selling the most amazing cupcakes (and friends we get cameos of some of our favorite Boston Hawks friends!). Bea is a quirky artist with a giant heart. You will not only adore Bea but you will fall head over heels in love with her Gran. She is an amazing side character and someone that you would want to sit on the porch gossiping and drinking sweet tea with!
Cole and Bea’s meet cute is so adorable and completely fitting for the pair. They quickly formed an easy friendship that morphed into a relationship. Cole was so sweet and moved at a snail's pace, but once this man was in he was ALL IN! He was completely captivated by Bea, and she was enamored with Cole. While they are different they also have a lot of similarities and balancing a demeaning career, making dreams come true, and helping family is a lot to juggle for everyone, especially a young couple fresh out of college. If you love a book filled with lots of warm fuzzies, sweet characters, and a couple that works hard for their HEA this is the book for you! I can’t wait for more of the Thunderbolts!

#rookiesregret is book 3 in the #tennesseethunderbolts hockey series by @gina_azzi

Cole is the rookie on the team who’s slightly over the top. He demands perfection from himself to be the best so he can to prove everyone wrong. Even if he is taking his workouts and time spent on hockey to the extreme. When he’s leaving practice he sees a fierce woman who catches his eye. Making small talk, he gets some cupcakes from her stand and is on his way. But he comes back daily just to see her and tell some jokes. When he asks her out, he has no idea she’s his teammates sister. Can he make time for someone else in his life that isn’t hockey or will he realize just how nice it is to have someone in your corner?

Bea has come home after college with some baggage. She loves her family and wants to help take care of Gran, but she also has dreams that she wants to accomplish. She wants her family to treat her seriously. So when she meets a guy who actually listens, it makes her finally feel seen. She wants to follow her dreams but doesn’t want to be put on an afterthought. Can she get Cole to understand there’s more to life thank hockey or will she need to follow her dreams alone?

This is a cute book. I loved Bea. She was funny and quirky, but also knew what she wanted in to do with her life. She lacked some confidence but I liked that she finally saw the potential she had. Cole was over the top obsessive, but it’s understandable from his background. I loved his lame jokes and how he was extremely honest. Plus who doesn’t love Gran!? Can’t wait for more.

Rookie's Regret is a wonderful strangers to lovers hockey romance that was a joy to read. Ms. Azzi gives us the story of Cole, the rookie, and Bea, his teammate's sister. It was love at first sight for Cole and Bea was intrigued by this handsome and sweet-talking guy that tells the corniest jokes. Bea is back home and wants to start her own pottery business but needs to get things organized and find a way of doing it. When her brother gets her a job at the arena selling cupcakes at the pop-up shop, she takes it but only as a temp job. While there she meets Cole and is instantly attracted to him. He is sweet, easy to talk to and always has a joke to tell. Cole is feeling the pressure of worrying about his uncle's health and being a rookie in the NHL. The only thing is they both have so much pressure on them that they falter. Can they help one another get through it all? The connection that happens between is strong and perfect. The way that each one knows what to say and do to make the other one feel loved is what every relationship should be based on.

This book is one that has you loving Cole and Bea but also the secondary characters that are rooting for them. They also are there to support and help Cole and Bea. The banter and friendship throughout this book are wonderful and add to the already gripping storyline. I cannot wait for the next instalment in the Tennessee Thunderbolts series.

WOW - Cole may be the Rookie of the team, but he can sure give his older, more established teammates a run for their money in the hot, swoon-worthy stakes because once he meets his lioness with all that red mare, Cole knows he has met his match, I loved Bea, she isn't your shrinking violet, she isn't your rake thin model type I imagined her as Meredith from Brave, but and yes there is a but, Cole's younger life wasn't easy if it wasn't for his Uncle Kirk, cousin Jamie and his sole focus on Ice Hockey Cole wouldn't be where he is today, so there is a lot of conflicting emotions running through Cole and his loyalty to his Uncle and his want to do the right thing could end up losing him the one woman who is becoming to mean everything to him. Bea isn't having any easy time herself, an ex who won't stay away, overpowering brothers, who you guessed one plays hockey with Cole, and Bea trying to prove to everyone that she can succeed is causing her to doubt herself, Cole is becoming her rock, she never thought someone like him would be interested in her, and when he starts to pull back all Bea's insecurities and fears come to the surface, but their connection has been growing since day one, when they come together, it is explosive, so these bumps to their HEA are just that bumps nothing that can be overcome.

The Tennessee Thunderbolts Hockey players are hot, they are hunky, they are passionate about Hockey, but that is nothing to how they are when they meet their soul mates.

I didn’t finish. It’s probably an okay book. But so far it’s just a little too straight forward. She likes him, he likes her. He pursues her instantly. Dual point of view writing makes it so we know what they are both thinking at all times so we never have to wonder about that at all. I’m just not being pulled in. She’s likable though. He is too but I wish the way he is acting would come later in the book. I like when authors hold back and give us some kind of build. Because he is doing the kind of swoon worthy things you want in a guy but he’s just throwing it out there too soon. Or rather the author is I think to make sure we know exactly the kind of guy he is but when he acts like he is this soon in their relationship it feels fake. The kind of guy that tries to hard to be a certain way. Like for instance we are shown his protectiveness towards Bea which I like but because he’s only met her it seems like too much. I want that to come after their relationship has progressed. I don’t like when the love interests are claiming how different the other feels from every other guy/girl or that the relationship could be something special after just barely knowing eachother. And they do kinda get to know eachother but we don’t really get to see it first hand because we are just told that they have had a lot of conversations over her work. So yeah I don’t get to see much of their relationship building.
