THE TOWER

Rate this book
Once there was a race of beings not of angels and not of man.... A cross-breed between the divine and the mortal, known as the Nephilim. Some adapted and moved on to become as gods among men, scattered over the continents by the floods intended to kill them, to create varying forms of divinity in their image. One in particular, Nemesis, began the Immortal War - the bloodiest war in human history. Nemesis and his wife Lamia were imprisoned in an attempt to end the war. For twenty years Nemesis has waited for release.... Soon, Nemesis will get his wish.

When I began writing, it started as a form of escapism. When I began typing, it was as a result of a ploy by a high school English teacher to get me to use 'new' technology: a laptop. The thing was monstrous and looked more like a foldup card table than the sleek little Mac laptop I write most of my stories on these days. Ironically, I wrote the first draft of my first novel, NEMESIS, on that old laptop.

Fast forward a couple of decades and I've got a few books out there, including NEMESIS in its final polished incarnation. My English teacher would be so proud. Maybe.

I write under several pseudonyms, including Suzanne Madron, James Glass, and Xircon.

My new hobby is to take pictures and get autographs of anyone who might recognize me.

I was pleasantly surprised by the trilogy's ending; I didn't see it coming, and this was good, for I'm one of those guys spotting plot twists a mile away. This is what `Return of the Jedi' is to `Star Wars'. If you have read `Nemesis' and `Lamia' you can't certainly miss this explosive final. Now two words on the author. I've noticed a literary growth from book one to this latest, passing through shorter stories set in the same universe - such as Enoch's Devil - yet there's even more, as it seems she has finally unchained herself and has left her imagination and creativity run free, without being somehow restrained by common ethics.
A fair warning: if you have deep spiritual belief in a mainstay religion this may not be the right series for you.
As for me (I'm a fanatic of Milton's Paradise Lost) ... I loved it.
