The first thing I have to say is that I actually liked this story. In spite of being the human female-male alien mate trope, up until 60% they still haven't had sex. And that is pretty amazing. Not only that, but the woman is a really kick-arse lady, while the alien let's her help and express herself (unlike other cavemen-aliens we know).
Then what's my problem, you might ask. None, other than the fact that I feel this story should have ended with the couple's escape from the planet Polai. All the tension building up to that moment simply vanished afterwards. So I don't feel the need to continue reading. As far as I'm concerned Lis and Ru's story is over. They'll obviously sleep together (thus completing the mating ritual) and the alien shall live.
And that's just about it.

The heroine: Lis - she was abducted by aliens and stranded on the planet Polai, which had a satisfactory environment for humans, but she had no translator and the natives of Polai were not friendly. So she lived in the wilderness, barely surviving for over a week.
The Hero: Ruwen - men from his planet only lived past the age of 30 if they found their Denys (mate). Ru was nearly at the age of 30 so didn’t expect to live long, which is why he took a risky job to the planet of Polai which tended to let unknown ships land on the planet but blew them out of the air rather than letting them exit on their planetary space.
The Story: Ruwen knew he was lucky to have taken that job to Polai when he finds his Denya. He is able to give her a translator and does his best to make her feel comfortable on his spaceship. He allows her to shower, makes her a meal and sits down to a meal with her. Though Lis is wary of the new alien, she felt extremely comfortable with him and grateful for the reprieve from the harsh planet. Though when Ru tells Lis they are mates, she doesn’t know what to think.
Ru has to finish the job he came for before leaving the planet and Lis demands to go with him, so they brave danger as they go through with his mission. The story was ok, but for some reason I couldn’t get ‘in’ to the story, whether it be the writing, the story itself, the narration, or perhaps I have just overdone the alien romance genre for a while.
The book was told in multiple points of view and narrated by Zachary Michael. I didn’t really like his voice, it was too soft. I tend not to purchase audiobooks unless there are at least two narrators, but I got this one in a box set with the first three in this series. I am not sure if I will listen to the next one or not, possibly at a later date.

Ruwen is an endangered species. They die by the age of 30 if they haven’t found their fated mate.
This story is short and drags bit. Ru was sweet, but I prefer my aliens/alphas to be a bit more alpha and in charge. As for the story it’s got no world building, no relationship building, and the characters have no depth.
This was a freebie and I’m glad for that. It had nothing special or memorable about the story and It didn’t capture me or make me want to read on. It was something to pass the time.

Ru knows that he doesn't have long time to live because he hasn't found his mate. So he's taken one more mission and hopes to complete it so he can collect the money and live out his last days in peace. But while on his mission he finds a human female that was mistakenly kidnapped and brought to this alien planet and left. He knows right away that she's his mate but she doesn't trust him at all because of the ordeal she's been through.
Lis has been on her own ever since she was kidnapped and left on the alien planet. She tried to get help from the aliens who lived there but they aren't friendly at all so when Ru finds her and tries to help her, she's not willing to trust him at all. He has to blast her with his stun weapon and bring her back to his ship in order to place a translator on her so they can communicate.
All she wants is to go home but he knows if he can't get her to accept him as her mate that he will die. He's not going to tell her that though and asks her to give him a chance in the time it takes for him to get his mission completed. She agrees to give him a chance while they are together but she actually starts to feel something for him pretty straight away and she doesn't understand why. He doesn't really explain why she might feel something for him or about how he'll die if she doesn't agree to be his mate.
Watching them get to know each other and fall for each other was really fun to watch. But I would have liked more of a back story as to what Lis endured after being kidnapped since we were just told it was bad but not what happened. I would have liked more of a back story on both of them as well to get to know them both better. But this was a fun little alien story.

This awful book does not deserve the ranking it got. In the first couple of pages she’s on earth and got knocked out, woke up in a space ship having all kinds of medical tests being done (how she knew when she was unconscious I’ll never know) then she wakes up on a strange planet with a note from the aliens that abducted her that read, sorry we took the wrong girl. Oh come on! She’s starving and breaks into a vacant building only to find someone else there and she’s wanting to jump his bones right away. This is so juvenile! I spent $3.99 on this awful thing and I want my money back.

I think we can all agree that one doesn't read one of these stories for their literary qualities. Still I enjoyed myself quite a bit. Although mostly cliche, there was more action than expected. And I mean action like fights with stun guns and a kidnapping. They get resolved very fast, true, but I was still surprised.

Nice idea, yet lacked in all areas.
The whole book is underperforming.
Lack of proper world building. Not much creativity or uniqueness.
The plot threads are too good to be true, such fortunate coincidences.
Characters are boring and the depth is none existent.
No suspense, no plot twists!!

There's nothing like the threat of death hanging over a person's head - one there's no circumventing unless they find their special someone and the odds of that are pretty slim - to really make someone take reckless chances. To be fair, in Ru's case it worked in his favor. Taking a dangerous job on a planet that doesn't like outsiders is a calculated risk considering he doesn't have much longer to live and it pays off when he stumbles over Lis.
For her part, Lis isn't in the greatest place when she and Ru collide. She's been kidnapped, dumped on an inhospitable-to-humans planet, and she's running on fumes. Her sudden bone-deep attraction to Ru kinda throws her, but she's going to go with it. You know, once she gets over her distrust.
After all, she's had a rough week, why not indulge in a little frisky business with a sexy alien?
Danger, alien space stations, and two fated souls meeting one another despite all the obstacles between them. I love protective, growly aliens and these aliens deliver.

I had read this fun and sexy sci-fi adventure a year ago, but didn't review it for some reason. It's well worth reading if you are a fan of this genre! Recommend.

Lis gets abducted by aliens, after a bunch of tests they tell her they picked up the wrong human and drop her on a planet with a backpack of supplies. Ruwen is basically an endangered species. His species dies by their 30th birthday if they don't find their mate. His birthday just happens to be around the corner. He's a mercenary and accidentally finds Lis on his last job. The planets align, angels sing and sunshine comes out from behind the clouds when Ruwen and Lis first see each other.
Eh.
This was a short book. It was sort of draggy. Maybe because I prefer my aliens to be a bit more take charge. Ru was sweet. Nothing wrong with that, but I got a little bored sometimes. Nothing super special about this. Its a great book to read if you don't have a lot of time but want to read something sweet.

It was fun and intriguing. I was a bit surprised by how it all began but still enjoyed it. I look forward to getting to know more about this alien race. Quick read that gave you something else to think about for a few hours.
Narrator did a good job giving character to the character. I was able to identify the differences between male and female. Smooth audio.

I dont know why this book have such a bad Feedback. It was sweet and I really enjoyed that heroine was capable Woman not some princess. It had Mass effect game feel to it and I loved it.

This was a quick and easy read. I bet the rest of the series will be too but I'm not going to mark this series as to be completed because I don't think I need to. If I want to come back to this series at a later date I might.
The main characters are Ruwen and Lis. Ruwen is an Alien who is due to die soon if he does not find his mate. Lis is a human who is has a difficult marriage who is abducted by aliens tested to see if she's their mate then when deemed not suitable was left on a planet alone. That is where Ruwen finds her and feels instantly connected to her. The two start off with a rocky relationship but it starts to grow into something more.
There are very few secondary characters since both of the main characters are fairly isolated.
The storyline isn't the most original but it is a quick and easy read. The pacing is OK but nothing noteworthy.

This was a RU listen. The narrator was OK. The story wasn't unique. Ruwen's people have to mate by their 30th birthday or they die. His planet has been destroyed and his people scattered. More and more of them are dying because they aren't able to find their mates. Lis is human was kidnapped by aliens by mistake and dumped off on a planet where humans can survive. She runs into Ruwen and it's insta-love / lust. Ruwen knows that Lis can save him from death so he isn't pushy. It was nice that they didn't act on the insta lust right away. It was more of a slow burn or as slow as it can be in a short book.

The new planet is hostile and she doesn't speak any alien languages. Lisa is starving and tries to break into a isolated warehouse to find food when she interups a cloaked aliens is trying to rob it. He recognizes her as has DNA coded "mate" who he cannot survive without but she has no idea why. Great intro as a first book in a series.

Fully in love with this... space?
I would say fully inlove with this world but it's off world so space lol. I love the concept of the Deytens, and all the other unique races. The authors do an amazing job of bringing you into the Galaxies they have created. It makes you believe they actually might be real! I hope there is another story where she's meeting the family though.

Kidnapped, rescued and then kidnapped again - Can they both rescue each other?

Lis is a bounty hunter on Earth or at least what is left of it. Aliens and space travel are just an every day way of life now on Earth. Except some aliens are rude enough to kidnap the wrong girl! Lis is kidnapped and is medically tortured only to find out that they retrieved the wrong woman. She is left on a hostile planet where people go in but getting out is another story. Can she survive a planet that does weird things to her skin and safe food is almost non-existent?
Ruwen is a contractor and he is on his latest mission to get information on a hostile planet. He comes across Lis and instantly knows the she is his Denya (mate). If only he could convince her not to leave him. Because there is a slight catch. His time left is limited and the only thing that can save him is for Lis to accept him as her mate.
They work together to get his mission completed and leave the planet. Learning about each other will only go so far - Will Lis open herself up to what Ruwen is offering?
It was a fast moving plot and the characters have a nice reciprocal relationship where they just might be able to save each other. I wish there had been a little more relationship development between Lis and Ru. But overall it was really enjoyable. Lis's character keeps you second guessing what she will do, when given the first chance to leave Ru, will she? Or will she stay and fight for what she feels is right?

Lis is a bounty hunter on Earth or at least what is left of it. Aliens and space travel are just an every day way of life now on Earth. Except some aliens are rude enough to kidnap the wrong girl! Lis is kidnapped and is medically tortured only to find out that they retrieved the wrong woman. She is left on a hostile planet where people go in but getting out is another story. Can she survive a planet that does weird things to her skin and safe food is almost non-existent?
Ruwen is a contractor and he is on his latest mission to get information on a hostile planet. He comes across Lis and instantly knows the she is his Denya (mate). If only he could convince her not to leave him. Because there is a slight catch. His time left is limited and the only thing that can save him is for Lis to accept him as her mate.
They work together to get his mission completed and leave the planet. Learning about each other will only go so far - Will Lis open herself up to what Ruwen is offering?

Ruwen NaNaran is a doomed man. Male, actually. He's a Detyan, one of the ever-dwindling race of displaced beings from a destroyed planet, and if he doesn't find hs genetic mate, his denya, by age 30, he's a goner. Since Detyans are rare, and since their population is overwhelmingly male and scattered throughout the galaxy, the odds against him finding a mate and living a normal lifespan are astronomical. Ruwen has accepted his fate, and is preparing to bid farewell to those he loves. On his last gig, a mercenary'smission to the planet Polai, he encounters a refugee from the Polan slave traders. She is Lis Janyx, bounty hunter, female, human. And unbelievably, she is Ruwen's denya. All he has to do is convince her... Ruwen is a likable hero, but the scene stealer is Lis. She's human, frail and weak by Detyan standards, but she's got a black belt in badass and attitude. I loved her from the get-go. The book is a great quick read, with a good balance of action and sex, and a dash of humor and pathos to boot. Ignore the trite title and grab this one!

Another good Sci-fi romance by Kate Rudolph this is a romance with a bit of action thrown in to spice it up a bit. Ruwen is a alien mercenary and has took on a risky job to obtain some data information from a hostile planet - but he doesn't care if he makes it or not as he hasn't long to live curse by his species he will die by his next birthday which is just a month away if he doesn't fine his Denya his fated mate. Lis Kidnapped from Earth and dumped on a strange planet with hostile aliens no means to survive and she fast running out of places to hide, she will do anything to find a ship to take her home and off this awful planet. The moment Ruwan sees her he knows she's his Denya but she's already been hurt and is distrustful of Aliens. Will the chemistry be enough or will she walk leaving him to his fate? Well your just going to have to read the book to find out and it worth it as it's a really sweet read.

This was a refreshing book for me.
The planet she was stranded on was not human-friendly, and not only regarding wildlife/other aliens. She had problems finding food and water, she had blisters from the sun, and so on. It was really believable; I cannot imagine a world where everything is ok for human beings like is usually portrayed.
The H said they were mates but chose to not talk about the consequences of them not mating until she made her own decision. He was facing death but didn’t want to force the h.
In this book, I truly saw a couple in love, that chose to be together because they really love each other, not because of faith (even though we are talking about the mate trope). Really liked that.
The H was not some arrogant asshole who thought the h was a damsel in distress. He valued the h and was open about how she helped him in his mission.
The h was not some annoying bitchy girl who just wanted to go back to earth.

Unexpected results... Lis never coulda imagined...
The story has a bit of a whirlwind/wavy hands kind of beginning to get Lis to Polia... But given the fun and interesting story that unfolds, the beginning is easy to forgive, and actually feeds in to some humor later.
Ruwen is living like a man with no future. Taking dangerous jobs. Living life on the edge. Enjoying all the fun, pleasure, and risks the Universe has to offer... until he meets Lis, who brings with her the most unexpected thing of all... hope.
This done in one quick read is a lot of fun. Different than the Detyen Legion / Warrior stories, which are focused more on revenge for what happened to their home world, this centers on the few survivors doing just that, surviving, and finding strength where they can.

Enjoyable
I enjoyed this read. I'm a true sci-fi fan and these type of books let me live out my fantasies. I mean who wouldn't want to travel the galaxies and find new life and love?!
Ruwen is ready to face his end and wants to go out with a bang. However, he never thought the bang would be a beautiful brown eyed woman with curves to spare.
Lis is on a strange world trying to survive when a hot red eyed hottie starts chasing her. She just can't catch a break and a break is all she really wants.
Fate has plans in stored for these two!
I liked it. If you like Scfi romances you will for sure like this one.
