The Shifters of Garoureve #3

Trapped in Garoureve

Rate this book
She’s trapped, and there’s nothing she can do about it.

Gina had been looking for a sign when she pulled into Garoureve. The future she had set up for herself was not one she was looking forward to, but when her car broke down, everything felt like it was crashing down around her.

Realizing that she was trapped in the small town, Gina quickly made plans to escape. She can’t be trapped with wolves. She can’t be trapped with him.

From the first moment she meets Tristan, she hates him. He’s annoying, he’s coarse, and he knows exactly how to rile her up… so then why does she keep ending up in bed with him? Or more like, why does she let herself end up in bed with him?

And why does he keep pushing her away when everything in her tells her to be with him?

The third book in a series of paranormal romances featuring plus-size heroines, wolf shifters, fated mates, and a town that magically appears when it’s needed.

Trapped in Garoureve is the third book in the Shifters of Garoureve series. This book focusses on Tristan and Regina/Gina.
Gina is on her way for a job interview but stops in a small town to spend the night there. Once she arrives in Garoureve her car suddenly stops working and she goes to the mechanic shop. Tristan and Gina have an instant connection but they also are pushing each other’s buttons and I absolutely loved that.
Tristan calls her his ‘spitfire’. And the story develops from there on out.

At first I was a little hesitant that this one would have the global story line as the first two books. But I am really glad this book really has a story of its own. I love that besides their love for each other. They also both need to deal with personal things in their private lives. I love how they both take the time to deal with it. And not bring unnecessary baggage into the relationship.

I also love how they both had such a unique and wonderful relationship with their grandmothers. And how that shaped the both of them into their adulthood.

Of course the LOVE and SEX is off the charts in this book! Trapped in Garoureve is a great third book in this wonderful and addictive shifter series.

4.5 stars from me for this gorgeous power couple!

Regina was a bitch from the get and she soured the story for me throughout. Based on her character I’d rate this a two BUT Tristan bumped it back up a star.

*I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review*

I have mixed feelings on this book. First, I will say I LOVE the Garoureve books so far and have completely fallen in love with this little town. If I could move there I would!

I enjoyed this book, but not as much as the first two. That being said, I think it was more of a personal preference that made me struggle than anything to do with the book itself.

This book, like the first two in the series is well written with a great plot. The background, attention to detail, amount of spice, and storyline itself were on point as I’ve come to expect from Elle. Her ability to weave a story is phenomenal. At this point, I would read a dang phone book if she wrote it!!

Personally, I’m an alpha guy kinda girl and this book was much more switch oriented. They submitted to each other multiple times. I wasn’t a fan of the “good boy” scenes, but I’m not gonna yuck someone’s yum, so that isn’t a critique. It’s not my personal thing, but I feel it was well written for the tone of the book.

In addition, I felt like there was such a focus on Tristian’s background, then just a couple throw away lines at the end with no real solid resolution. I would’ve liked to see more. Who was his pack? How did he find them? Did he get stuck in their town? Why was he gone so long? Why did he think he was bitten instead of born? Also, all the focus on his tattoos? Was it just set up for the next book cause the witch is covered in tats? Why can’t the man keep a tattoo? I NEED ANSWERS!!

Overall, I really enjoyed this book, but think it would’ve been a 5 star (as the first 2 were for me) if it had a bit more fleshed out at the end and had matched a bit more with my personal preferences. Either way I’m still Team Garoureve forever and can’t wait for the next one!!

The first, like, quarter of this book had a lot of promise. I was really digging both the MC and the love interest but at about the half way mark I was already losing it.

While this series has great fat rep and the consent is always spot on, idk, there's just something about this authors story telling that gets lost in transition for me.

My biggest issue is that this is a shifter romance series but I Kid you not, the wolf aspect has LITTLE TO NOTHING to do with the plot. This one had the most references to actual shifters, compared to the first two but even in this one it feels like an after thought. Like the author was like, 'right I have to add something interesting so its not just ALMOST 400 PAGES of two strangers CONSTANTLY going back and forth about hating each other'. Even the sex scenes in this one was a little blah for me.

And don't get me wrong I love the whole hate to love trope but I need to see why the characters are falling in love. I didn't really see what it was about the love interest that made the MC fall in love, because she literally didn't even know his last name until the very last chapter!

I really like Tristian until this book because he literally had NO personality and Gina didn't make sense half the time with her constant wishy washy views and opinions.

I honestly can't express my love for this series. It really makes me want to find this town and have a wolf shifter of my own.

Here we have this strong will tall (I say this because she talks about her height a few times throughout the book) beautiful woman driving to Chicago for an interview that she really doesn't want to do. Only reason she is going through it is because of her mother. Whatever her mother says you have to do. She sees a sign for Garoureve and decides to go there to top off on gas and food. What she doesn't expect is to find herself and the love of her life she never knew she needed.

There was so much going on in this book and the spice was FANTASTIC. I really just want to read this series over again because now I can't wait to have the next book in my hands.

more specifically, at the line “if there was a question that he didn’t want to answer, then it was probably a question that she should know the answer to.”

i remember liking the first two of these books, but it’s been a while, and this one is horrifically grating. gina is just an incredibly annoying character. i should’ve known from the first page where she’s incapable of admitting she was wrong, even in her own head. then there’s her shitty “i AM perfect,” that she yells at tristan for no reason at all.

and the final nail in the coffin is her “i met you 12 hours ago but i am entitled to your personal details, even ones you do not want to share, despite the fact that i don’t like you and am rejecting the soulmates thing.”

she just seems like an arrogant narcissist, and definitely not a character i would root for.

now granted, i understand that books have characters who are difficult and then the rest of the book shows their journey and how they learn and change. i understand this judgement is premature.

but personally, i like having fun when i read, and it’s hard to have fun when i’m spending the first 100 pages of the book wondering when my fmc is going to stop being insufferable.

Let's start with what was well done in this book... establishing the characters. Most of the time when you read a book with a character that speaks another language you just KNOW that author use Google to translate, but I was surprised the Spanish didn't make me want to tear my eyeballs out of their sockets and weep for Google Translate being abused again for the sake of a story. So good on the author for that.

I also liked seeing the past characters and learning a little more about the town because we NEVER learn enough about it. We still have NO idea about this damn place and why it was made the way it was or who will ever come back and fix it and yeah, I get it is a series, but we are three books deep now and know so little still.

What I found lackluster...

Basically everything else.

This is a shifter series, is it not? So why was there like 3 pages in book one where they shifted and that's it? Like.... WHERE ARE THE WOLVES? They always run off and shift. In the second the guy shifted for like 2.5 seconds for her to see him then that was it. I want to see these wolves. I want them up close and personal and I want their shifted sides to be more of the story. How do we read a shifter book with no shifting? I need more.

I think I have figured out this author's writing style doesn't evoke emotion. There were very specific moments that I could tell the author was doing her best to make it emotional but I didn't even get teary... nothing. It felt a little melodramatic, to be frank. The time away, I'm still trying to wrap my head around what that added to the story besides closure to her messed up relationship with her parents, which shouldn't have felt like the main focus, but it did.

I want a romance that I feel inside and I have yet to go through that reading this series. It's fine. It's cute. It's sweet. It's sexy at times and it was refreshing to see a fat character that didn't loathe herself like the woman from the first book but it didn't redeem the book enough in my eyes that to see it as anything other than mediocre romance. It's a fast read, if it can keep your attention, and the sex scenes can be pretty good but I got tired of the wishy washy attitude our MMC had basically the whole book.

I don't know about you but some guy decides to break my favorite fucking sex toy then doesn't even make up for it by railing me into the next day.... jail. Immediate jail. I will literally make you choke on the broken pieces before you go buy the exact same one for me again.

Also, why bring in the drama of him going home when we never get to know any real answer or conclusion or hear more than the bare minimum when they finally reunite. I don't get why she decides to stay in town. I don't get the pull she feels from the writing. There are so many things that are just never explained enough to feeling complete.

Overall it was cute. Mindless. Easy to pick up and put down. But it was enough to have me interested in the next. I don't know how much, but we will see.

Okay, so let me just go on about this book and most importantly, the lovely individual who created this work of art. First off, I wanted to touch upon Elle Drew and just say that seeing her grow as an author is absolutely amazing. I have read this series from the beginning and the very first book hooked me in, but the third book has sold me for life. Her writing and world building have developed over the three books, and I can’t wait to see all the shifters meet their fated mates and have their happily ever after.

Elle Drew has absolutely stepped up her game in this book and we get to see the word of Garoureve and find out more of the town’s history. The town and the individuals itself have their own trauma and having the knowledge of what happened helped explain some of the events of the first two books more and allowed me to emphasize with the male main characters more than what I did in the past.

There is trauma in this book but enough humor and light heartedness to balance it (don’t forget the spice). Each book has its own male and female lead, and the book focuses on the development and growth of each individual alone and in a relationship. The dynamic between Tristan and Gina was fantastic and I loved how they switched roles of dominance throughout the book (we love switch hitters 😉 ). Each individual has their own share of trauma and the journey that they went through absolutely destroyed me for a little bit (especially Tristan) but they both came out stronger at the end and an even more powerful couple (but let’s be honest – this town needs therapy STAT but I think this is something that will be touched upon in the future books of the series).
So far, this book has been my favorite out of the series; however, my favorite couple is still Mardoc and Scarlett.

** I received an advanced copy in return for an honest review **

I have been lucky enough to be a part of the ARC team for all three novels in this series so far and I can honestly say this one hit me so hard and in a way I didn’t expect.

Gina and I are scarily similar. Her fears and relationship with her family evokes such a visceral feeling from within me. This one really gave me that “found family” feeling and her immediate bond with the other girls just makes so much sense. As someone who has always heavily relied on her friends rather than family, their easy banter, immediate support and love for no reason other than they know she needs it… hit me right in the heart. Also that chat with Scarlet before going to the bar… someone must have been cutting onions I swear.

Elle writes such a variety of diverse of characters, not only within her girls but their wolfy counterparts as well. Tristan is complex and troubled but Gina isn’t out to try and completely change him. She’s there to help him grow and heal without pressuring him or making him feel less than for needing time to process. This is a much healthier depiction of spousal support when faced with this kind of trauma than other books I’ve read. Gina understood how to support him and I feel like that is largely because of the lack of support she has received from her family growing up. They are two sides of the same coin, or two halves of the same whole partnership.

Teeny tiny barely there spoiler ahead://

As always the smut from Elle is delicious and I like how confident Gina is in her sexuality! The slipping in of bisexual Gina (and a curious Tristan???) had me screeching.

This is the third book in the Shifters of Garoureve series. In this book, we take a turn where the magic of the town isn’t a secret and it felt like a natural evolution based on how things have been unfolding in the last two books.

Here were my favorite things about book 3:

- we got to dig deeper into the mystery of Garoureve like how some of the magic works, why there’s a magic boundary, and more.
- Tristan and Gina have a more angsty dynamic which centered around a lot of great push and pull.
-There was a lot of depth as we dug into each of their backgrounds and there was a good exploration of dealing with trauma—both for them and the other members of Garoureve.
—That said, this book is a bit heavier IMO than the other two (not a bad thing, just something that played a big role in the tone of the story). However, there was still a lot of humor and sexy times to bring levity to the story.
-I really liked seeing the interactions between the three women who have been pulled into this crazy situation. I’m a sucker for growing friendships in books.
- I loved that Gina was into pole fitness, it was a fun touch that centered around her own power in learning that skill.

I have to say that Cole is still my favorite shifter of Garoureve but I did like the switch-I-ness of Tristan and Gina’s dynamic.

I’m really excited for the next book based on what Elle has set up so far! I’ll definitely be continuing the series!

Just to be clear I was given a free copy of the book, this is my honest review. There may be slight spoilers so read with caution.

This series is absolutely fantastic and Elle is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors.

This book was so so good. The dynamic between Gina and Tristan was so good and addictive. The bickering was funny and the sexy scenes were very spicy but so good! I admit I wasn’t a big fan of Gina at first. Her attitude rubbed me wrong lol but I quickly realized how amazing she is. And her relationship with her parents was very relatable. I really felt her pain and her struggle with not knowing who she really was or what she actually liked and wanted in life. And poor Tristan carries so much trauma and guilt. They both had so much baggage to deal with outside of Garoureve, and I’m glad with the outcome.
I cried a little, and felt so much for these characters.
I love how the women are becoming such good friends.
It’s so nice to learn more and more about the pack with each new book in the series. And it’s also great to learn about the town and how the magic is affecting things.
I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

First off, lemme just say I was so dang excited to know that in book 3 of the Garoureve adventures we were going to be blessed with a Latina! Let me just say I connected with Gina SO much! I feel like her character was very relatable and believable, down to the way she code switching!
Now with her character she defiantly had a lot of growth through the story, and I felt her torment that they struggled with when it comes to the demand of her family. I was so proud of her and how she finally took the reins of her life and choose HERSELF! More women needs to do this!
Then we got to see more of Tristian who we have seen in the other books but never got to know him till now. I seriously felt heartache for him, he had so much growth and how he is able to find himself was so good! He kind of annoyed me in the beginning but eventually I truly understood why he was acting the way he was.
I gotta say this is probably my favorite one in the series so far! It was one I could relate to, and had some connection with.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I am going to start this out with holy freaking cow...what a wild ride! This book was an absolute dream. I love a QUEEN who adds trigger warnings in her books first off! I couldn't put this new addition to the Shifters of Garoureve down. I laughed, I cried, I awwwed, and praised the main characters for the work they put in.

Trapped in Garoureve was an emotional ride for sure, but I fell in love with Gina and Tristan. How can you not love a grown man getting pushed around by a badass woman who puts him in his place. Their dynamic grew throughout the book allowing each character to grow separately as well as together. Also I totally loved him asking for consent at the very beginning!

I cannot wait for the next book in the Shifters of Garoureve series. The building of this community and being able to see the town flourish is simply amazing! Thank you Elle for this phenomenal series!

I love their desperation.
I love their desire.
Absolutely obsessed with their drama.
I want to be their "good little one", please say yes 🥹
No more arguing about who is submissive.
It's me.

Oh, I love love love this couple. The world needs more couples who don't fit the stereotype.

Abuse TW

I don't like giving one-star reviews, but the FMC is abusive (physically/mentally), narcissistic, and gaslights Tristan. She also uses the typical dog whistle of abusers, "He made me violent." Gina was just an awful human being, all the way around. Tristan deserved 1000% better.

To be completely transparent. I did receive a free copy of this book. The only thing that was asked from me was to be completely honest

I am just going to dive straight into my review of the book. Granted, I absolutely love the series. I just realized that as the series is three books, it's revealing what the town is actually about. To me, it seems that the town is more about providing safe for its inhabitants, and those that travel to the town, or through it. It is a good book to read. Check it out.
Anyways, Just as a warning this part may or may not contain spoilers so do with that what you will.

After reflecting on the book, there were four things that I think that stood out. I will talk about each of them.

1. Challenging each other
One of things that I liked was how they have the relationship where they were pushing each other, and challenging each other. I hate say this but the examples were the naughty's ones, and the emotional scenes. How they did unexpected things. For example: Earlier on when they were having a conversation between the two of them. She did not ask the questions that he thought she was going to ask. Also Because this is going to be the only time that I will say this here. So please enjoy.
The fact they both fought for control, and how he at certain times submitted to her... Enjoyed
any who moving on.

2. Dealing with the past.
The handling of talking about the past is extremely important. Elle writes about it in way that encourages the characters not only to talk about it but also acknowledging what happened, and also dealing with the fall out of talking about it. It is not just naming the trauma but it also about proccesing. In one of the conversations that she has with Silver. Gina refused and states, that she does not want to hear it unless it comes from Tristan. I like how she responds to Silver because it stops gossip from being spread, and i think it gives Tristan more chances to reveal himself to her.
I liked the acknowledgement that the entire town is may be dealing with PTSD of some kind. It makes the connections from the first book to the current book. The scene with Silver was absolutely heartbreaking. It also explains why Tristan and Silver's relationship is the way it is. My only question is: will we see them have some type of conversation in the future?
To continue under the section. The setting of boundaries. I feel that it is interesting that Gina and Tristan were kind of opposites in the area. It seemed that Tristan had lots of boundaries but Gina appeared to have none in regards to their respective families.

3. See the two characters interact with the outside world.
Granted both Tristan and Gina were on their own different journeys. Gina was on journey of finding out who she is, what she wants, and changing the dynamic between the relationship that she has with her mom.
Tristan was on a journey of finding out who he was, exploring the outside world, learning where and who his family is. Learning more about his past. I liked how through it they were talking each other. It was done in a way of knowing what they other one needed, and just being supportive of each other.

And finally 4. Acceptance.
Speaking a Biracial person, myself, this huge thing. Especially when its two different cultures. What typically happens is that one cultural typically gets pushed aside for the other. I know from personal experience. Being accepted and not compromising either cultures.
Gina experienced the acceptance that her mother never got both within the town and with Tristan. For example, when she showed Madroc had to make her favorite kind of coffee. Madroc learned how to do it, and didn't really think much of it. Or she wanted to open the diner and using her abuela's recipes. For example, when they were having a conversation about what his last name was. He literally asked her last name was. He just took it the last name without question. For her, that meant the world.
Since Elle has started this series, I appreciated that she has expanded the world. As a result of I have more questions:
1. Will the other pack have a role in the story of townspeople, or role in the universe of this town?
2. I want to know more about the witches in New York
3. Does Roddy get his own story? Where does he disappears to? I know I can't be the only who is wondering about that. Just saying.

Have a great afternoon.

Note: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first ever review on Goodreads, and I’m glad my first one is this Smoke Show of a shifter novel.

“Fuck, you are mine. Mine. And I’m yours. I’m always gonna be yours. And no matter how much we both fuck it up, nothin’ can change that.”

First off, this is my favorite book series right now. I was DYING to read this and Elle M Drew did not disappoint!

Every character in this series is their own person with depth and written with care, and this couple was different in ways I didn’t expect.

I knew I was in for some angst and aggression. Check.

EMD always delivers on 🔥 sizzling spice 🔥 Check check!

But then you throw in

Best surprise ever.

The dynamic of tender and feisty in the spicy scenes was wonderful, and a couple of times I laughed out loud.

“I want to know you,” he murmured, and ran his hand along her cheek gently, caressingly.
She wanted him to shut up.

“I will stab you if you don’t take your pants off,” Gina groaned, but there was no anger behind her words, only desire.
“I will, Spitfire. I can promise you that.”

This was less insta-love than the rest of the series and it just worked for this couple.

Tristan was so vulnerable and tender and I just wanted to give him a hug so bad. This poor guy has been through the wringer.

The cameos from our other favorite characters was appreciated, love to see love THRIVING.

When Gina breaks down across from Tristians Mechanic shop in this little town called Garoureve she didn’t expect to find the most aggravating man on earth.
Gina and Tristian bicker from the moment they meet! The tension between them can be felt with how well they were written! These two were snarky and sparking towards each other and I loved it! The tension between them grows while Gina is trapped in Garoureve, learning the towns biggest secret and trying to figure out how to get the town to let her leave are causing her to reevaluate her life. Her mother expects greatness from her and her siblings to the point that Gina is not happy and is stressed out that she is not good enough.
Tristian has not been able to leave the town ever and he just wants to get out of there. He blames himself for part of a tragedy that happened to the town years ago and so do some of the other residents of Garoureve.
This couple will have you wanting to knock their heads together so they can see that they need one another and they need the town.
These two have unfinished business outside of the town and once it’s done Gina knows she wants to go back even if Tristian is not there. Her heart yearns for him to meet her there but will he return to a town that treated him badly? Will he enjoy his freedom from the town?

Read Trapped in Garoureve to find out!

Questions, questions, questions and finally! some answers!!

I think Tristan is my favorite male character so far; even though he’s incredibly heartbroken, lost, and grieving (more than one parental figure) he knows it’s his job to fix his problems. He’s willing to do it. He also worships the ground Gina walks on, although I mentally go back and forth on whether she deserves that level of worship — especially in the beginning when she’s an insufferable *beep*. She gets better too though, but I think she’s my least favorite character so far. I know that’s probably weird, my fav and last fav being a pairing but there were a lot of things that bothered me about Gina, most of all how she treated Tristan.

Character thoughts aside I loved the town’s story development. We get a lot more info in this installment and things are making more sense. In the first book things were incredibly vague and abstract in a way that it felt like even Elle didn’t know what was going on. This book felt much more solid, like Elle has a firm grip on where she’s going and what she’s doing with the series. There’s a confidence that has grown. It’s really lovely to see and follow her progress as a writer in addition to following the series as it evolves too.

Note: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. That being said, let’s do a slow clap for Elle M Drew as she has once again written a swoon worth story about a heroine who stumbles across a mysterious town. Seriously tho, I don’t know how authors do it but it blows my mind when a book series continues and while the concept is similar, the story’s are completely different.

Right off the bat the author hooked me with these lines. “You should know that my name is Tristan,” “Why should I know that?” “Probably cause pretty soon, you’re gonna be screamin’ it,”

Come onnnnnn, there’s nothing I love more than an Alpha-hole who drops pantie melting lines. I think the icing on the cake for this is that the MC’s don’t fall into insta love. Yes they instantly lust, but they butt heads and that add fire to their passion as they try to figure their relationship out. It’s a great change of pace and a reminder that not all love story’s are the same.

Add in the real life problems that both the male and female MC have and this book has me by both my panties and my heart.

Another great Garoureve book!
I was curious about Tristan since the first book and I was not disappointed by his story. I love a tortured soul who doesn't think he's worthy of love.

Gina was indeed a spitfire! I loved how confident she was in her own body and it was nice to read about a fat girl who doesn't once talk bad about her body or her weight.

I loved that they had to be separated for a bit in the end, in order to figure out who they both are and what they really want.

Again this book doesn't disappoint in the 🌶🔥 department!!

Also the virgin trope with a twist was surprisingly good to read. Its usually the woman and I'm not generally a fan but for once it was well done. I liked how the first time he couldn't get her off and how he learned each time and got better.

And I think it was the first time I read a pnr book where the fmc is the dominant one and I have to say I didn't hate it!
New kink unlocked?

At this point I will buy anything Elle writes.
Did I get a free copy of this book? Yes

I'm writing this review after receiving an ARC. This is an honest review. - Read ahead if you're interested in superficial spoilers.

This is this third book in the series. (1. One Night in Garoureve & 2. Needed in Garoureve) Like the other two, this is a paranormal shifter romance with a happy ending.

Garoureve is such a nice place to spend some time. The world, the magic, the sexy as sin shifters that can make me squeal in delight!!!! Elle M. Drew knocked it out of the park AGAIN!!!! (and I hope will continue to do so again and again and again)...

The FMC, Gina, is a sassy spitfire of a woman who finds herself in Garoureve. She is a Hispanic/latina in all her glory, eyeliner, Spanish curse words, and all! (I love seeing my representation in fictional literature!!! Woo Hoo). The MMC, Tristan, is trapped, just like Gina is, but has been under duress for many years, his history unknown.

Their connection is instant, as is typical of this series, but they are imperfect and facing struggles that impact who they are and their path to finding each other. This book carries trigger warnings, but the portrayal of their angst, although real, is not particularly gritty. This is a romance, after all.

These characters evolve tremendously throughout the story, their scarred past coloring their journey. It is a fast, easy read, with plenty of spice.

I look forward to reading more from Elle and watching the town of Garoureve flourish and grow!!!

Okay so I am always hesitant with reading supernatural romance books - I have been spoiled for many years reading Christine Feehan's novels. May I just say this book hits in all the right ways, the best part is it is relatable to those of us with curves. ❤️

This was my first time reading from the series - yes I am an out-of-order kind of gal so what?!

The FMC Gina is def giving me Scorpio vibes - she knows what she wants and she doesn't care what others think. She is on a journey that leads her to what seemed like a small backwater town. Where her car breaks down and queue in the drama....a sexy mechanic to save her! Nope, not in the least, we meet Tristan with a raccoon-like persona (sorry I like raccoons and for those of you that don't you can lick my boots).

Will their romance flourish and bloom perfectly...heck no but that's the best part!

From what I learned in this book is that I need to visit the previous Shifters of Garoureve Books and enjoy some more delish MMCs.

When I say I devoured this book .... I finished it in one sitting and now I need more.

Thank you for allowing me to read your amazing ARC! Can't wait for the next installment in this series.

Gina and Tristan's story.

Tristan is an enigma of the town. He just showed up. He wasn't born there, yet he can't leave. He's the town mechanic and when Gina shows up and her car is broke down, he can't help her. His mind screams MATE. Yet she fits him tooth and nail on everything. Effectively, she is a female him. Great! Just great. Tristan can't bring himself to keep her, he explains how she can leave him and the town. Will she? Who knows.

Gina is living under her mother's thumb and no matter what she does it's not good enough. So when she arrives to Garoureve and her car stops she is pissed. This is NOT what she needs. It will just give her mom ammunition against her. She needs to leave ASAP. And the town mechanic is useless. No matter how hard she tries, she is pulled back to Tristan and his story. Can she leave? Does she want to leave?

I have to say this is my least favorite book, only because of Gina. She is just hard to like. Tristan, ehh, I'm indifferent to him too.

I received this as an ARC from the author. All opinions are my own.
The magical town of Garoureve is a town of wolf shifters. Due to a fire that decimated the population 15 years ago, the town does not let anybody leave unless it Knows they will come back. Tristan, the local mechanic, came to the town as a teen, and is desperate to find his mate and leave. He feels like an outsider, and has a very prickly personality. Regina is a plus size woman who is very confident in her body, but unhappy with much of her life. She has been a constant disappointment to her mother.
Regina stops in Garoureve for gas and her car won't start. Tristan and Regina meet and the sparks fly. They have to confront their demons to make the relationship work, while continuing to have mind-blowing sex.
The world building was very detailed, and built on the world from the previous two books. The friendships formed and interactions felt realistic. I loved how the town itself was a character. It was a joy to read, and when the book is available in paperback, I will be getting a copy.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Elle has done it again. This whole series has pulled me in, and I never want to leave.

Shifting and magic aside, these stories are incredibly relatable. Elle has captured the good, the bad, and the ugly of relationships, and the importance of recognizing and confronting trauma. I felt specifically called out when Gina contemplated her lack of boundaries with her family.

As far as the spice goes, GORL. Elle perfectly captured new (and inexperienced) love, and it made me feel all the feels. I started reading this on a plane, and had to put it down so as to not cause a scene.

I love reading about sexy, fat, confident women. Seeing my journey reflected in a series of books is empowering, and I can't wait to see what Elle has in-store for us next!

Listen. If you haven’t picked up a book in the Shifters of Garoureve series, this is your sign to go do so right now!

Each of these books are absolutely amazing, 5 star reads but I think Trapped in Garoureve is my favorite so far.

The growth you see between Tristan and Gina, and the way their relationship blossoms and unfolds in this story was incredible. Especially given the start of their relationship 😅 I don’t want to give too much away but I will say the phrase “good boy” is used quite frequently in this one and it made my heart so freaking happy 😂

And don’t get me started on Tristans backstory and the moment of vulnerability for both Gina and Tristan that’s shown in the book. That moment brought me to TEARS.

✨One of my favorite quotes: “She could easily break him, but he looked like he would be fun until she did.”

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review 💕

a phenomenal addition to the series

Once again, Ms Drew knocks the wolf shifter genre out of the park. Gina and Tristan are both well developed characters, brought together as fated mates in the mystical town of Garoureve. The town that seems to appear right as someone needs it. We meet Gina as she drives across country in effort to be out from underneath the controlling hand of her Mother. Tristan, a lost soul waiting to escape the town he’s been trapped in since he was a teenager.
Their relationship starts off full of anger and annoyance that quickly morphs into passion. In each other, the find their mate, and in doing so, the ability to face the circumstances that brought them to where they are.
As always, the author’s focus on real plus sized women is appreciated. Gina is smart, strong and resilient. She is bold and brave, and a perfect example of what women are capable of beyond the size of their clothes.
I can’t wait for the next instalment of the series - I think it’s safe to say if you’ve read the books, we all want to find our way to Garoureve!!
