Join a half fire, half water faerie's quest to stop a dark elf lord's plot to subjugate two worlds under his wicked rule.
Jonathan Jackson loves his fun-filled summer breaks from school. However, he earns a week of extra chores after pulling one too many pranks. During the Great Chore Sentence, as he calls his punishment, Jonathan learns an ancient prophecy foretells he will defeat the mind-conquering dark elf, Malgroth, and mend the broken mortal and immortal worlds. He finally sees his magical abilities will provide the edge he needs. With time running out, he journeys to the Dark Lord’s realm to stop him from nullifying the prophecy and enslaving both worlds under his tyrannical rule.
I really enjoyed this fantasy adventure book over break. I got really into the world and ended up reading it in three days! It is fast-paced with deep characters and an interesting magic system. The writing style is similar to The Chronicles of Narnia, The Hobbit, or There and Back Again, and John Flanagan and the fantasy type is similar to Julie Kagawa and Holly Black. It's young adult fantasy genre but this is a book anyone can enjoy. Highly recommended!
This is a must read and every young reader's next great adventure! I thought COV was action packed but easy to read. I was captivated from start to finish with its climactic thrills and mysterious schemes. It flowed at a quick pace and developed believable characters which I loved. The main character is funny, wordy, and my favorite! Definitely recommend for readers looking for a lively fantasy story with magic and convincing characters.
I absolutely loved this book! The story was interesting and fast-paced, I read it in one day! The plot was intriguing, the book well written, and the characters hilarious. Definitely recommend for anyone who loves fantasy!
This book was such an entertaining read, I couldn't put it down! This is definitely one of my favorite books to read, and it's always a go-to recommendation for friends
I absolutely loved The Circle of Valstan and ended up reading it twice! It has great characters, a layered and twisting plot, good morals, magic, and a story that will keep you wanting more. I also learned new words, animal behavior and anatomy, and more from this book. I enjoyed the character development and their relatability. If you're a fan of the Lord of the Rings, the Chronicles of Narnia, or Ranger's Apprentice, then you'll love this book too!
