When Amelia Albert and her new detective husband, Robert Flatterly go off on their much needed 7-day honeymoon to the Caribbean, Amelia thought she could kill two birds with one stone. They would have their honeymoon and she could investigate a new cold case just put on her desk that morning. The crime happened two years prior by supposedly murdered by a female pirate who lived in 1726. What she didn't know, was that while they were on their cruise, two other murders occurred in the Caribbean on two different islands that appear to tie into her cold case from home that have the same M.O.s. As she continues to investigate the crimes, she soon learns someone in a pirate outfit is following her throughout the cruise and someone wants her dead. On the return trip from the other islands, her cold case from home turns even hotter as she delves deeper into the cases and discovers that a priceless antique book with a white heart-shaped pearl nestled deep inside the book is the motive behind the murders. Will Amelia and her new husband return home from their honeymoon cruise before they become the next victims?

I went to college and received a BA in History and minors in Anthropology and Archeology. There, they introduced me to the cultural and mythological world, creating my desire to write in the supernatural and mystery genres.
In my spare time I also write folklore short stories, historical and romance time travel genres.
I have published book 1 The Curse of the Ruby Eyes, and have book 2 The Pearl of the Pirate Heart of the Twelve Gems of Murder series also on Amazon available now.
The Pearl of the Pirates Heart by Shelly Neinast is a rip roaring pirate adventure with the unusual mix of time travel and crime thriller thrown in for good measure. As the second in a series of books, The Pearl reintroduces a cast of established characters which those of who are familiar with the series will recognise. As a first time reader who isn’t familiar with the characters or the concept, it wasn’t difficult to immerse myself in the drama as it quickly began to unfold. This story contains a lot of interesting historical references to piratings bloody history, and really brings to life the colourful cast. The story switches between the past and the present as the main characters investigate a series of murders, and it’s a really fun approach to the usual crime thriller. For me though, despite the adventure and the thrills and the gruesome history, the book is short of a thorough edit. Too many grammatical errors marred the reading experience and prevented me from enjoying what is a well thought out and original story.
Amelia and Robert are on their honeymoon in Nassau when they discover gruesome murders have been occurring. The murders are carried out in a way that is similar to that of a female pirate, Captain Bloody Blade, some three centuries earlier, used to butcher her crew.
Amelia gets involved in the investigations and is soon chasing a supernatural entity who may be responsible for the murders and is leaving her and her husband death threats. This story evolves from a crime drama into a fantasy as Amelia is transformed back in time to a Caribbean island where Captain Bloody Blade is enforcing her authority on her crew.
As you read on it becomes a crime drama with a race against time with fantasy tied in. The murders are quite gruesomely explained and it's nicely written. There were a few spelling errors and the change in genre was a bit crazy I though, but I did enjoy reading this. I would recommend it.
This book is about a couple Amelia and Robert. Amelia wants to solve two cases at once. Hence this makes novel very entertaining. 2 murders have taken place. Amelia is very determined and she definitely solves all the cases in prodigious manner especially due to her special powers, she is able to track a lot and travel back in time. It's takes a bit of time for Robert to believe in her but he finally does and helps her. I really love the way how the writer has written two different cases yet it is very clear. The author has used the idea of super natural powers and magic in exceptional manner. Amazingly well penned.
a mystery sequel about pirates, supernatural, time travel , and crime…
As a mystery lover, time travel, supernatural, pirates, and crime are all my things!
This book has kept me engaged from the beginning till the end. The plot is nicely written and developed at a fast pace. You could hardly stop the adventure with Amelia and investigate together this 300-year-old crime! The characters in the book are also crafted with solid personalities. I especially like the idea of a female pirate! Another thing I truly enjoyed reading is the rich historic information it references to. I learned a lot from it!
A great read! I’m excited to continue reading the sequel!
A lovely mystery and a good follow up to the Curse of the Ruby Eyes. In this book, Amelia investigates a 300-year-old murder linked supernaturally to something more recent. As she investigates, astral planning back and forth to the past, she discovers the mysterious pear of the title. There is plenty of suspense here, along with twists and turns. A delightful detective mystery read that will thrill you. Mixed up with all of this suspense is a history lesson also, and I quite enjoyed that part. Read and enjoy.
Amelia and Robert are honeymooning in the Caribbean. They’re only just recovering from the events of the first book when a murder happens. As Amelia begins to investigate she learns about the legend of pirate, Captain Bloody Blade and soon gets embroiled in a 300 year old pirate curse. It’s a race to solve the case and her journey involves pirates, time travel and shape shifters. This was an enjoyable read and I can’t wait to see what happens in Book 3.

Wow. What an interesting story. Crime, supernatural, pirates, mysteries, and time travel. I will say this is not a genre I normally read. I’m more of a sweet romance reader. It was nice trying something new. I’ve never read a book with a female pirate captain before. I was rooting for Sam. The Gone With the Wind reference was awesome!! Loved it! It’s a good story. I do recommend it.
Another classic from this author. I loved her first book, and I had to wait for a while to get my hands on this one! I love how the main issue of this is solving a murder in the Caribbean! How the main character and her husband are just supposed to be having a good old time but end up having to solve a mystery in the process. I was never a fan of reading a book with pirates until I discovered this author. I highly recommend this one. Its entertaining and so worth it!
For years, I read historical romance, and my favorites were those centered around pirates/privateers. I love history, and reading historical romance gave me what I secretly had a hankering for. I also loved time travel romances. Not to mention, who doesn't love a great mystery? This book gives you everything! History, time travel, romance, terror, and mystery! OH MY GOD! GREAT BOOK! I can't wait for more from this author!
Amelia and Robert are back, married now and on honeymoon. Their holiday has been designed to take in a two-murder island where bodies have been left in the same state as in one of Amelia's cold cases, and all three mirror the deeds of a pirate captain from the 1700s. Action in bucketloads and more time travel. Can this help Amelia work things out. Book two follows on directly from book one and now leads me onto book three, and I can't wait.
I was delighted to read the second awesome mystery in the Twelve Gems of Murder series! This story is full of vivid imagery and exciting events unfold constantly. Amelia and Robert’s Caribbean honeymoon, with its blend of sweet romance, pirate adventure, supernatural elements, and time travel, captivated me; they’re both endearing characters. This is so creative; I’m eager to read what comes next. I highly recommend this very entertaining book!
Wow! This book is interesting, unpredictable, I mean the best, it deserves to be one of the best novels. It is a supernatural, time travelling, novel that will keep you turning the pages to know what Amelia discovers about Captain bloody blade. I wanted the pirates to gang up and kill her.
time travelling swashbuckling adventure so easy to be appreciated
time travelling swashbuckling adventure so easy to be appreciated. None too many grammatically mistakes for myself. Nowhere near enough to put me off the adventure of an interesting cavalcade of characters! Read on
Review: If you love a good mystery and pirate stories of long forgotten treasures in the Caribbean, this fast paced adventure is the best choice you can make. It will captivate and surprise your from its first chapters. With her clever crafted plot, inspired by Agatha Christie and Dean Koontz the author will capture your imagination and take you to real exotic places, a journey which will let you begging for the sequel.
This book has time travel, pirates, treasure and magic, all rolled into the life of a just-married young lady who is experiencing her honeymoon and some very interesting travels. It needs some serious editing, but it's a wonderful and charming story.
I read book one and then book three, skipping this one by accident until now. It was still very enjoyable, and Amelia is a strong female characters. Who doesn't enjoy some pirates. Real life locations were included which added to the appeal more for me.
