It is no surprise that in present day technology is shaping our destiny, our economy, our society and indeed, us. What is actually happening in this tech world is far more vast and intricate than what is present in front of our eyes. The major changes are nothing but the accumulation of strategic moves that dates back to even ancient history. In this book the author has pin pointed every aspect of global technological upsurge and related geopolitical alignments that contributed to such relatively competitive game. The game includes all and slowly but surprisingly it's changing everything.
This book is a bird's eye view of the global technological changes and how everything is changing along with it. This great surge of change is connected to a series of multi-layered historically significant incidents and here various facets of it has been discussed in great details. The way everything has been connected and linked with major events gives us a broader understanding of the situation both in terms of complexities and opportunities. The details hold profound meaning and all the concepts are clearly surfacing through the writing. The storytelling is a work of genius, never once along reading this book I felt bored or dissuaded, in fact it was really interesting to read something so extensive and well structured. It's a good book to educate oneself in geopolitics with special emphasis on the the tech world as it's the controlling factor of our future.

Divided into 5 parts and 16 chapters this book is an insight into how technology is affecting our life as well as the geopolitics.
Have you ever thought how much Technology affects the development of a country? The answer is a lot. The keys that disrupt 'The Great Tech Game' are - the climate and the biotechnology.
The author has used very simple language and the technical jargons are written in such an easy manner that anyone with very limited knowledge can understand the content of this book.
Although I am from a technical background, I got to learn so many new terms!
It took me quite sometime to finish this book because I am afraid of big books but don't let that scare you - this book is worth reading (even if you are not from Geopolitical or Technological background).
This is a non-fiction that I actually liked!

There is a quote at the beginning of the book - ' Adapt or perish, now as ever, is nature's inexorable imperative. ' by H.G Wells.
Every period in history had a game changer which defined the course of humanity and how the human civilisation evolved. We are aware of the agriculture, trade, colonization, industrialisation and capitalism has transformed the world for better or worse.
The author now says that the great game of the 21st century is the " The Great Tech Game " which is unfolding in front of our eyes. I doubt anyone would not agree on this as our day to day lives are closely interconnected with technology. Right from the moment we wake up to we say bye to our loved ones miles away through a video chat. Technology has redefined the way we lead our lives and has rooted deep into our cultural psyche without which life can run amok.
The book delves deep into these aspects interconnecting out past and present as to how one invention lead to another. This is a cycle which keeps adding new elements overpowering both our expectations and the predecessors.
The book is divided into 4 parts with each part masterfully written to weave a big picture as to how tech is here to stay. The author has done enough research to prove beyond doubt that technology has not just impacted us at micro level but even at macro level.
He urges the all countries to remain relevant in this tech era. Falling back on past solutions is no longer an option in this generation where tech has engulfed and spread its tentacles on every branch of government and life. How policies must be written in conjunction with the information in hand, how our foreign policies needs to be revamped , etc. All these carefully and strategically planned out options is what is going to usher any nation to success and to survive in this technologised world.
This is more than just a roadmap but a survival kit for the nations which can prove to be very decisive in the present and the near future. Overall, I loved this book for the information and inter connectivity which the author weaves with ease.

The Great Tech Game: Shaping Geopolitics and the Destinies of Nation by Anirudh Suri is a fascinating non fictional book. The book is really informative and interesting. There are mainly five parts.
Author has introduced great agri and trade game, great colonization and industrial game and so forth in the initial chapter. The subsequent chapter is about new destiny of nations. The book has elaborate explation with illustrations and maps. As there are many graphical representation it is really easy to understand.
The book is a bit bulky so my initial thought was that I will probably take a long time to finish it. This book is insightful and we will surely gain a clear picture of what is going on around us. Fictional readers might find it bit boring but you guys can surely try.

As we further move or delve more and more into the new digital normal that has been caused due to the recent changes that took place, there is profoundly a new picture of the relationship between technology and geopolitics that is emerging, which is quite different from anything that we have ever witnessed before.
As the author has rightly mentioned, these numerous capabilities are fast becoming the frontlines of either global competition or coordination.
As a result of this, all the developments that are taking place happen to lead to a need for global norms and protocols in order to accelerate the benefits as well as mitigate the risks of the new technologies.

The globalised world we are living in today wasn't like instantly turned into a world where we all became interconnected and interdependent on each other. The foundation of it was laid way back when human civilisation actually started to explore the riches of the earth and went on deeper to know its usefulness. The British also had a huge contribution to make us a globalised world. The colonial era that we thought ended in the late 20th century with Britishers moving back to their island country was actually end of a chapter of colonialism, not colonialism as a whole. Because from time to time, different empires had tried innovative techniques of exploring a new land and establishing their hegemony over them. And now is the age of technology. The new weapon to control geopolitics, global market and diplomacy to a good deal of extent. And that's what the author talks about in this book.

The book stretches around with 550 pages encompassing a total of five parts comprising sixteen chapters. The content of the book is captivating with various facts. Although the language is simple and served to be understood by the general readers, I found it difficult to grasp certain content that talks advance about the technology. There are a lot of new vocabulary that is new to me, such as cyberespionage ( a form of cyberattack that steals classified, sensitive data), Technology laggards (those that are not used to any significant degree for the development of new software systems today), tech titans (people or companies that have contributed the digital/Information age with innovative tech products or services).
Mr. Anirudh also provided a clear understanding of how important technologies are for the development of a country. The author sketches out the relationships between technology-rich and technology-poor nations. I'm extremely new at learning about digital colonization, which is an intriguing topic to read. Our government had taken various initiatives and schemes to improve digitalization in our economy. And how these could have a long-lasting impact on our society can be realized after reading the book.
The author highlighted the two keys namely, climate and biotech which have the power to disrupt the Great Tech Game. As a biotechnology student, I could greatly relate to this. The author offered his perceptions through various examples that made them understand with ease. I must appreciate the author for his extensive research in each chapter. Although the book might interest only the readers interested in technology and geopolitical content, I would suggest everyone go for this book.

Anirudh Suri's book, The Great Tech Game, promises much but cannot deliver the goods. On the positive side, the book is descriptive, giving me the impression that he wished to pack in as much information as possible, but not so much that the reader's patience runs dry.
In the book's first sections, he discussed some trends taking place in AI and how they affect geopolitics. He speaks of 'the Great Tech Divergence,' an excellent phrase, using it to highlight the growing differences between countries.
In the latter sections of the book, he abandoned this analysis, focusing on cramming in as much information as possible—information irrelevant to the subject at hand. Even when he discussed issues like education and the growing gaps between countries, he did not draw inferences to explain how this will affect future AI and geopolitical strategy.
His geopolitical analysis is consistently superficial: AI and related technology are a new aspect of rivalry between nations. However, he makes one consistent point throughout the book: India is a laggard in the race. Even here, he did not take his analysis to the logical conclusion. What is India's position today, and what will be its projected position ten or twenty years from now? What holds India back, and what can India do to speed up its development?
I would have liked to have seen one or two detailed analyses explaining the growing US-China rivalry and how AI and related technology will change their relative positions in the coming decades. Will they go to war, and will a global conflagration engulf us?

I picked this book up because it just felt so relevant to my career, my passion and to the world as a whole. The cover was as attractive as the theme, so there was no stopping me.
I, obviously, was a little sceptical at first. I expected it to be full of technical jargons and hard to be understood and comprehended by laymen like me. Fortunately, I was met with a pleasant surprise, when I started turning it's pages without once feeling the need to use dictionary or even Google an event in history- as everything has been described so simply, yet keeping it so informational, that one never feels out of place.
Since I belong to a technical world, being up to date with what's hot is kinda the need of the hour for me. No matter how much catch-up we play, there's always something new, way ahead of its time, *sigh*.
However, this book very carefully tackles that doubt in one's mind. We always think about future as something completely unpredictable, something completely new. But, with the thorough research done in the book, we can see how much future our almost forgotten past holds.
With thorough description of revolutionary events throughout the history, which seemed to change the world, author very skillfully draws a picture of our future clear enough for us to be prepared, and even lead it successfully!
I would recommend it to anyone and everyone, regardless of which field of work they belong to. If you want to stay relevant, if not ahead of time, you need to pick it up, sooner than later.

Fortunately, I was met with a pleasant surprise, when I started turning it's pages without once feeling the need to use dictionary or even Google an event in history- as everything has been described so simply, yet keeping it so informational, that one never feels out of place.
Since I belong to a technical world, being up to date with what's hot is kinda the need of the hour for me. No matter how much catch-up we play, there's always something new, way ahead of its time, *sigh*.
However, this book very carefully tackles that doubt in one's mind. We always think about future as something completely unpredictable, something completely new. But, with the thorough research done in the book, we can see how much future our almost forgotten past holds.
With thorough description of revolutionary events throughout the history, which seemed to change the world, author very skillfully draws a picture of our future clear enough for us to be prepared, and even lead it successfully!
I would recommend it to anyone and everyone, regardless of which field of work they belong to. If you want to stay relevant, if not ahead of time, you need to pick it up, sooner than later.

Firstly I must start by mentioning that I never had much interest in technology or anything related to it. Sure my life, and many of yours almost completely rely on technology, but there are high chances we never gave it much thought before.
But this book by Anirudh Suri really got me thinking. It shows in a very interesting way how technology is shaping our world.
This is an extremely informative book and it will take readers quite some time to grasp everything it says, but as someone who read it recently I can vouch for this amazing book- it's well worth the time you put into reading it. I already feel more informed about things I never paid attention to before. Matters that actually need to be discussed.
Kudos to the author for writing such a well-researched, detailed book. The best part is that it was easy to understand, even to a person with not much knowledge about the topic. Not once did I get bored or feel like the information was too dry in this 500-page book.
The author moved to India after living in the US for over a decade, which is something very unusual- but what impressed me more is that he decided to write a book that focuses on technology's impact on Asia specifically.
This book, that's divided into 5 parts, might truly be one of the best nonfiction books I've read in a long time and I recommend it to all, even if you aren't a fan of the genre- because knowing the facts stated here seem absolutely necessary in today's world.

It’s a non fiction work. It took me a while to complete it as it’s bit far from my subject and it’s a huge book. I will try to briefly outline about the book here that will give you idea. This book is about how technology is shaping us, nations and their destinies, the world order and the future of humanity. And this book is about sensing that change and understand the way technology is changing us. The book is divided into four parts. Part one is into deep history and help us understand what we are living through today. Part two is about how technology is beginning to transform the economic destinies of nations. Part three is outside the confines of the nation. About how is technology shaping the relations between nations and the world order. And part four is how the rules of the Great Tech Game are being set. This book is a roadmap for how any country must develop its own strategic plan for success. The book goes on to evaluate whether digital colonialism is an inevitable reality, or whether new frameworks will emerge to govern relationships between technology-rich and technology-poor nations. I liked the concept. Author has explained it deeply. Author has explained everything with proper examples and literature references. The references of articles and proper timeframe suggests that author did ample amount of research before penning it down. The language of the book is lucid so layman like me without background knowledge can understand it. Quite an informative read.

The Great tech Game , by Anirudh Suri is a roadmap towards the perfect installation of technology for the country and its betterment . The book is a hardcover and literally so big that it took me many days to finish it , but i am completely satisfied reading it . A practical , inquisitive and a perfect read for us , especially those who love technology. Divided into 5 parts , the book begins with technology and science of past , then the modern day demand of more and more usage of technological operations , and a guide to implement the proper and planned techniques to achieve the spread of this tech game towards other countries as well to establish a more secure and technical expertise .
A quite informative and pratical read for everyone , author Anirudh Suri has made sure to take us from basics to advanced level of understanding this tech game further and implementing it properly for one's growth .
