R.L. Dunn has given us the next instalment in her Chase Security series that follows former Navy SEALS and other military officers after they have left the military service. Secure Beginning is the seventh book in the series and the story takes place in New Orleans aka the Big Easy.
We have met Kip Brennan previously so we know very well who he is as a person and I have to admit I have impatiently waited for his story since I heard that he was the next one in the line! I love New Orleans and I found myself stopping and closing my eyes while reading the story … I think the brilliance of a writer for me is when I simply do not gorge on the story but that it touches me so deep that I need to put the book down and just feel … Robin has that skill and I admire how she pulls from what is happening around us in ‘real’ world and binds it into the story … hurricane, drug trials, short staffing and inadequate supplies at the medical facilities, abuse of power …
So, we have Kip and then we have Harper and like every other female main character, she has her own story that pulls you in and makes you root for her and for them! They fit together so well, they complement each other and make each other stronger.
Another thing that I love about Chase Security series is that we never leave behind the characters that have gotten their stories already – we meet them again and again as being one team and being there for each other is the foundation that Chase Security is built upon! I wish I could find a company as such to work for!

Intense and thrilling:
This was the 7th Chase Security book but the first one that I've read. I found I was a rather confused at times and this was partly due to being new to the series but also because the story was made overly complicated with such a huge cast of characters.
Although a little idealistic and improbable at times, it was nevertheless exciting and had me frantically turning pages. It certainly was a nail biting read; fast paced and full of action. I enjoyed the tension and intrigue that hovered in the background and the threat of the hurricane only intensified things.
I liked Kip and Hunter as a couple and I quickly formed a bond with them. Overall this was an excellent medical/romantic suspense and I look forward to reading more from this talented author.

Secure Beginning is the first book I've read in the Chase Security series and so I can say that while the story itself and the romance part stands on its own, there are a huge number of characters from previous books and I found it extremely confusing at times to keep track of who's who and what's what. There is also quite a bit of back-tracking and repetition about Kip's new job which didn't help. I liked all the characters in the book, though, and it certainly was a nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat story! The romance part took a back seat but we nevertheless ended up with two committed couples and two potential relationships -- all within the span of 4 weeks. Good work, that!

Absolutely loved this story!!! Kip and Harper make the perfect couple! He’s the new Executive Director of the Chase Security - New Orleans and they are in the process of creating Chase Care - New Orleans. Harper is a critical care nurse in the facility that Kip will be overseeing.
So much happens in this story that has you glued to the pages and wanting to know what happens next! Intrigue, mystery, humor, romance - and a Hurricane! This was by far my favorite book in the series and really just kept me spellbound. The characters were well written and the story flowed beautifully and at a nice pace that did not make you feel like you missed something. I cannot wait for more of this series!

I enjoyed this book so much it was hard to put down it was so full of excitement and that it was set in New Orleans was a bonus. Every time I thought Kip and Harper would finally be at peace together, something else happened and my heart would be in my throat again, poor Kip he had so many near death experiences! There were so many interesting characters in this book including Raven who had a small but very important role, I loved her, and who wouldn’t want an Elin to organize their life. All Robin Dunn’s books are great but this one was exceptional and I wanted it to never end.

Excellent addition to the series, I love the way that the setting changes and this one takes us into New Orleans during a hurricane. Kip and Harper are fun characters, Harper really comes into her own evolving into a confident and independant adult. Her sister Chantal is a hoot, and I also loved Raven and her role in this story. Tons of drama and supsense as usual in this series, with a good dose of romance, courage and loyalty too. The medical trial plot was interesting and well treated. This is a hard book to put down, a real page turner.

Book seven in the Chase Security Series a well written story, with a very good storyline that kept me turning pages. I found myself laughing at somethings as Kip Brennan is one bossy man who loves critical care nurse Harper Rousselle. There is suspense, drama, danger, villains and romance. Kip is now the executive director of Chase Security in New Orleans. The setting is close to home so it was very exciting for me. There’s so much action, I couldn’t read fast enough! There’s plenty of drama and suspense. Kip and Harper are the perfect couple. This is a wonderful addition to the series. *this honest review is based on a complimentary copy from the author*

Secure Beginning by R. L. Dunn is such a hot read, it will keep you up until you’ve devoured it. I love Kip and Harper’s story. I throughly enjoy how not only is there a little or a lot of danger in each story but so far I’ve completely enjoyed all the medical stuff that is incorporated as well.
A throughly well written book that I recommend to anyone looking for a new story.

This entire series was just amazing! Nonstop action and so well written. I enjoyed every book! I loved all the characters and can't wait for the series to continue with book 8.

R.L. Dunn is The very best writer that I've read in years. Well written, engrossing, wonderful characters. Have read all the Chase books and Cure. I do have Blood Obsession but I must admit that I'm struggling with that one. Excellent series!
