Krem’s fate revealed! As Supergirl continues her battle against the Brigands, Ruthye squares off against this most vile villain in hopes of avenging her father and completing their mission. Will justice be served on both accounts? Or will our heroes fail? You won’t want to miss thrilling conclusion of the acclaimed miniseries that has changed Kara Zor-El for good!
finished this comic series and i absolutely loved it! can’t wait to see it adapted for the big screen. it really motivated me to read more of her comics :))
This hit pretty hard. I don't know how much I loved the last page. However, everything before that I really dug, heavy dialogue and all, and a great chapter end for a character like Supergirl.
I've been enjoying this since the beginning but I've been concerned about how Tom King was portraying Kara in it. He completely erases that with the final issue. Wow. This is the weary but unbroken Supergirl who still believes and who passes her belief in good and hope to another. Absolutely fantastic.
thats crazy….dude when I saw ruthye old and supergirl came to visit her..😭😭😭 but wow I didn’t think that they’d send Krem to the phantom zone 😭 and I ALSO didn’t expect the whole thing with Krypto to be a lie. I mean sure yeah he’s a super dog so I should’ve caught on to that first…like he wouldn’t easily die. But all of that and Krem just died in the end-THAT I didn’t expect. But dude this whole story just was crazy and I wasn’t expecting any of that fr. And the Comet lore? I heard ppl mention that Supergirl was in love with a horse and I was like erm??? But he was cursed to be a horse and wasn’t an ACTUAL horse so I guess that makes more sense, but still woah. #ilovesupergirl

What an amazing series. The art is breathtaking, every single panel stunning. Number six was absolutely my favorite, by all of them are just as good. I LOVED how it feels like you’re reading a fantasy story, different from the usual contemporary setting most of her comics are. The ending end was nice and satisfying. I’m sad is over, but now I’m curious as ever to see how James Gunn is going to make a movie based on this series.
I feel sorry for this comic series. After just finishing From Hell by Alan Moore, I can't help but compare every future comic I read to it.
This has certainly been a beautiful series to read, but I just didn't find the story that good. It's definitely worth a read if you're interested in Supergirl but I found it a bit average.
really highlights kara as a hero. she’s will to lie to get what she wants and to motivate others (just like she does in this arc about Krypto. but her means justify the actions (in her mind) ultimately she manipulated on the right way…

"You were going to waste the rest of your life chasing this -, dreaming about this worthless -. Like i would dream about Krypton. I had to show you. I took you with me, hoping you'd learn about...i don't know...something, but...but you didn't learn, did you? Which makes all the sense in the world because i couldn't teach you. Because...i still dream of Krypton."
I have seen people complain about this comic being 'cyclic' or about Kara not moving forwards in this story, but I think it's all quite telling of her character. I personally have seen her improve herself and grow, but this dialogue speaks of her character itself. Despite Supergirl being one of the strongest characters in the story of superheroes, she's not immune to trauma and feelings. She saw and experienced her world being destroyed when she was just 14 and had to build a new life, making efforts to be kind, to hide her anger and hatred behind a smile, like they showed in other issues. Her feelings here show that no matter how much she pushes forward, she's always holding onto what she's lost, and it's something incredibly human and impossible to erase from her character. This was my favorite quote because it shows her original goal in this mission: she's been trying to teach someone else how to avoid being stuck in this trauma. She's been trying to teach how to do something she's not mastered herself.
“But watching you, being by your side these many days, I can’t help but think that grace did not die with my father.”
Just when Supergirl thinks everything is lost, she’s managed to teach Ruthye a lesson, just not the way she’d meant to. While at the beginning Ruthye seems to be a child (naive, too confident, inexperienced) compared to Supergirl (wise, strong, determined) we can see Supergirl open up and Ruthye get more mature. They are two girls who’ve seen their worlds collide and have lost everything, and with Supergirl’s more experienced guidance, Ruthye turned the hatred and awry grief that made her lose herself into the fuel to find herself again, she’s shown her that despite being in your worst moment, drowned by pain, it is possible to keep going stronger than before. You're not what you've lost, but the person who pushes through the storm. This is a true hero, not just those who physically save you from harm.
“Supergirl, who lost everything and kept on walking.”
This comic series is just wow, the art, the storytelling everything is so good. I love the personalization of supergirl and how even though she has suffered so much that she is still tries to help Ruthye see that killing is not the way. The ending was a bit confusing but with some research and context clues you figure it out; so I’m happy about that. Supergirl is so selfless; even at the end she asks Ruthye to make it seem like she killed Krem so that the bad guys will come after her.
Supergirl’s life is so tragic and she still holds hope and is a beacon of light around the universe. She is so strong and isn’t just Superman’s cousin; she’s a whole person who has had far more experiences with death and grief than her cousin.

“Words will live and worlds will die and evil will carve its name into the innocent and good people will do good acts and suffer all the same. And everywhere girls will be born with their eyes open to the hate ahead of them, and they will wonder if their voice will be heard above the screams. And in that moment of doubt they will learn,as I have learned the legend of Supergirl, who lost everything and kept on walking. Then they will settle themselves, content in their power, knowing someone out there has survived the storm. That tomorrow, when malice will make its attempt and help is begged from the heavens, there is a woman waiting.”

And in the moment of doubt they will learn, as I have learned, of the legend of Supergirl, who lost everything and kept on waking. Then they will settle themselves, content in their power, knowing someone out there has survive the storm. That tomorrow, when malice will make its attempt and help is begged from the heavens, there is a woman waiting."

I had to sit with this one for a while. I enjoyed this series so much leading up to this final issue it was basically impossible for the ending to live up to my expectations. One of Tom King's specialities is humanizing superheroes. That skill was on full display throughout this series, enhanced by the beautiful and emotional art of Bilquis Evely. So an imperfect ending doesn't spoil an otherwise masterful story and immersive reading experience. It remains one of my favorite comics in recent memory.

A fitting conclusion but like most great stories, it’s at its greatest in the midst of things and not at the end. This issue is almost all denouement, almost buckling under its weight to deliver a moral message — but the book ends with one last satisfying blow.
super!! frankly overwrought narrative and occasional issues w pacing, but the final world was endlessly charming (peach purple and seagreen fish drifting through the air!) and i really loved the themes of mercy and daughterhood ^^
