This is an MFM, enemies-to-lovers, second chance, and rock star romance you must read. It is the third book in the River Valley Rebels Series, though I suggest starting with the first book, Taut Strings, where Molly and Mason are first introduced. I must say this was one spicy and tension-filled book. It was so good watching how Kaz and Molly slowly began to care for each other and how protective both Kaz and Mason could be of Molly when needed. Yet how much Molly proved to be strong and thoughtful when making them promise not to give up on their dream for her even if it broke her heart. And the many time both men proved to be understanding yet determined to have Molly made it even better.
Please be aware that there is double pen***ation, mentions of dyslexia, and mental abuse that can be triggering to some.
After losing her parents at a young age, Molly is left feeling like a burden to her sister, Ade, making her determined to follow every rule necessary for her to finally gain her independence. During her first year as a college freshman, Mason introduces her to Kaz, a rule-breaker, according to her, whom she immediately dislikes. Not wanting to jeopardize her education, Mason and Molly drift apart and stop speaking to each other. A few months pass Molly ends up going to a party, where she ends up finding out some upsetting news that causes her to argue with Mason. That night she ends up kissing both Kaz and Mase.
Fast forward to 3 years later, Molly is now working as the personal assistant to Trinity, a senior manager at Hyperion Artist Management. When ordered by her boss to be the new assistant to the new rock band, Last Rites, she never imagined the members of the said band would be the two men whom she told they would be making a mistake that night so long ago. Knowing her promotion and job are on the line, Molly is forced to put her pride aside and apologize.
Meanwhile, Mason and Kaz don't hold back, making it clear they don't like having Molly there, yet both are unable to deny wanting her. We get to finally understand why Mason decided to leave 3 years ago, his and Kaz's anger, fears, pain, and hostility they both have in their hearts. With each day they get closer and closer to their dream of performing in front of thousands of people, yet being unable to deny their attraction and want for Molly, which ends in Kaz striking a deal with her one that Mason can't help but be envy.
This book ends with a HEA. I can honestly say it's now one of my favorite Rock Star romance reads I've read, one that pulls at your heartstrings and is one I will re-read in the future.
