K.C. Wells lives on an island off the south coast of the UK, surrounded by natural beauty. She writes about men who love men, and can’t even contemplate a life that doesn’t include writing. The rainbow rose tattoo on her back with the words 'Love is Love' and 'Love Wins' is her way of hoisting a flag. She plans to be writing about men in love - be it sweet and slow, hot or kinky - for a long while to come.
If you want to follow her exploits, you can sign up for her monthly newsletter: http://eepurl.com/cNKHlT
You can stalk – er, find – her in the following places:
- age gap (Stuart has almost two decades on Prince Jordan)
- opposites attract (Stuart is a former military, tough-as-nails bodyguard; Jordan is the sheltered, spoiled son of the king and queen of a fictional Eastern European country who is oh so ready to become a man)
- bodyguard & client (that push/pull of growly, protective instincts and bratty resistance just does it for me)
- BDSM lite (Sir/boy, bondage, spanking)
- Dom/femme power dynamic (Jordan will one day be king, but he's always going to be Stuart's boy)
- debauching the virgin (so bloody hot, I can't even XXX)
- relationship-focused story (there's no crazy rescue, no danger, no politics, no drama, just two men thrown together by calculated chance who explore a few adventures ... and each other)
- fairytale element (Royal families exist. Jordan's parents are just extra chill and understanding, and the country of Elloria is the most idyllic place on earth. Totally realistic? No. Feel good? YES. There's enough evil and hatred in the world. I'll take utopia any day.)
- sigh-worthy epilogue
I didn't expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. My only disappointment is that it ended.
I Love bodyguard trop and bodyguard/Prince trop is even better but something was just missing for me here. I also have to say I slowly lost interest after half of the book.. Nevertheless I liked all characters here, especially Jordan he is so sassy and bit bratty without being too much I liked that. Also he and Stuart just really worked out together.
I love a great bodyguard story, I love a great prince story, I love some BDSM. I love even more when they are all put together. I love that he was a brat and I totally understood why. This was a fun ride to their HEA. It was fun watching them pretend they weren’t something more. This was a low angst story with lots of great smexy times. I wonder if Ryle has a story?
*I would like to add, I wish when talking about the LGBTQ+ community they used the abbreviation correctly. Multiple times used, it missed groups of people who are in the community. It’s 2021 and you are writing a book about the community talking about the community. Please use it correctly. Thanks.
With supremely delicious and steamy romance scenes, clever dialogue, and a wonderful message, K.C. Wells delivers a winner in Princely Submission!
Rugged, handsome, and permanently soured on love, Stuart Whitmore has no idea what he’s getting himself into when he agrees to a temporary gig as bodyguard to a bratty prince twenty years his junior. Turns out Prince Jordan has a whole lotta heart hiding beneath that pampered exterior. He’s bold enough to test Stuart’s boundaries at every turn, and repeatedly displays the chutzpah that catches (and holds) his handsome new protector's attention.
A classic age gap romance, which K.C. Wells does so perfectly, Princely Submission contains all the elements I adore about her writing. The older, more experienced, dommy guy who shows the inexperienced younger lad the ropes. (And in this case, yes, ropes are definitely involved!) The BDSM scenes are on the lighter side, and work well with the dynamic between the two men. Stuart and Jordan have fantastic chemistry, both in and out of bed.
The audio version of Princely Submission is beautifully performed by John Solo. I knew Mr. Solo would rock the husky, burly tones of Stuart, but he blew me away with his sassy rendition of Jordan. He captures every bit of K.C. Wells’ humor, and nobody can read her sexy BDSM scenes better!
thank you to the author for providing an audiobook copy of Princely Submission, all opinions are my own
But that aside I really enjoyed this. It was different to what I expected from reading the blurb but in a good way. Look, it's based on a Prince and his bodyguard falling in love so you do have to suspend belief and It is written in a idealistic world shall we say. But just enjoy it for what it is.
There was no contrived drama or forced break up and considering how bratty Jordan is at the beginning he really does mature and communicates brilliantly with both Stuart and his parents about his thoughts and feelings. Again, it was all very idealistic but one of my favourite aspects were Jordan's parents, they really did love him.
Also, this book has some of the hottest, steamiest sex scenes I've read in a while. That scene in the limo? Dayuuuuum🔥🔥🔥🔥
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
First of all, have you seen that cover?!? HOOOOOT!! It's been fabulous reading the story with that picture in my mind's eye!
I loved the prince and his bodyguard. At the beginning, Jordan was adorably single minded: the guy only wanted to get laid and the trip to the States was his only chance to finally lose his V card. He just had to brake free from Stuart's vigilance for a few hours...even if threatened with a spanking for his transgressions. So, each tried to outsmart the other and, the more time they spent together, Stuart started to see the loneliness hidden behind the prince's sass, and Jordan slowly realized that his bodyguard had a gentle and caring core.
In a way, familiar with K.C. Wells's books, I'd expected this story to be a lot more kinky. Don't get me wrong, there was plenty of steam in the story, but the best thing about it was the wealth of sweetness, derived from how deeply Jordan and Stuart connected emotionally. Two lonely souls that found each other and simply belonged, despite age and social standing differences.
For me, this book had the magic of a fairytale. Sweet, tension-filled and sensual, and with a heartwarming epilogue. A must read.
For some reason I am always drawn to books where there is a protector involved. While this one Prince Jordan is in no real danger I still love this concept. Prince Jordan visits the US for the first time when he is twenty. But there is one stipulation to this from is parents. He needs to have a 24-7 security guard. In the past Jordan has been able to get away with anything that he wants. Well, that ends when Jordan meets Stuart, his new guard. Stuart is everything that Jordan ever wanted in a man. Stuart knows a brat when he sees one and that is exactly what Jordan is. A brat through and through. Although they get to know each other Stuart realizes how sheltered Joran really is and how many life experiences that he has never had the chance to experience. But he is still able to keep a firm hand and keep Jordan in line. When they realize that attraction is mutual there is doubt but the fire the two of them have is something that is insanely hot. This is one book that I do want to go back and read again. As well as other titles from KC Wells.
A bodyguard and a spoiled rich client. In your imagination, a kidnapping, a ransom demand, explosions, car chases, and a rescue play out while a Whitney Houston sound track plays in the background. After a few pages, this all comes to a screeching halt.
This is not the typical bodyguard client book. It is so much more and much better.
Jordan is a rich spoiled prince who has been sheltered too much. He is twenty-one, a virgin, and too naive for his own good. He is allowed to accompany his parents on a trip to the US. Jordan plans to take advantage of it. He plots ways to explore and lose his virginity along the way.
Jordan’s plans face one major obstacle in the hunky shape of Stuart the bodyguard his parents have hired. Stuart is forty, good at his job, but has been feeling unsettled. After bad romantic experience, he has locked down his heart and not allowed anyone to get close.
Jordan and Stuart are attracted to each and give into that attraction. Stuart takes Jordan surfing, to a leather club, and sex toy shop. Together they explore kinks and each other. I liked the fact Stuart never talked down to Jordan because of his innocence. He never pulled the I am the dominant partner and know best. They actually talked and Stuart encouraged Jordan’s questions.
Because this book is a modern fairytale, there is a sweet heart melting ending. Also, I loved Jordan’s parents especially the king.
I loved this book! The story of Jordan and Stuart is sexy, sassy, a bit bratty and a whole lot of fun to read! Stuart is hired to be the bodyguard for a very naughty Prince when the Royal Family visits the US. What happens next is a journey of fun, self discovery and love. Jordan will help Stuart heal the scars of his past while Stuart helps Jordan to become the man and Prince that he was always meant to be.
I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
This is such a sweet and fun read. I love Jordan and Stuart! I love the bodyguard and prince storyline. This is such a hot, sexy and sweet read that I just couldn't stop reading. I can't tell you how amazing this story is. KC Wells just made another story that I love.
Princely Submission is a modern fairy tale, very sweet and angst-free. For me, it was an ok book. I didn't care to much about Jordan, and he going all mature so fast wasn't convincing for me. But overall, Stuart and Jordan relationship works.
Excuse me while I am sobbing at how sweet this is. Low smut low angst but big romance. The whole thing reads like a Disney movie, really. If it was a gay Disney prince falling in love with his gay bodyguard.
This was kind of fairytale like with no angst and really no conflict. While the sex was hot, and it was an easy story, I was a little bored. It did make me smile at times and I liked the ending.
Loved this story from beginning to end. A love story mixed with a coming of age story. Add in a generous amount of steam and romance for a perfect HEA.
What's a virgin prince to do when thwarted by his father; trick him into going to the USA! This was an adorable read. Prince Jordan and his bodyguard, Stuart, butt heads to start, but soon they can't deny the attraction. Another wonderful story by KC Wells.
