Dhoom and Naomi. I’ve been looking forward to this story since the first Sanctuary book! Naomi, hard walls around herself never letting anyone in, single-minded focus on Sanctuary’s success, always hard-nosed. Dhoom, strong, quiet, helping Naomi with Sanctuary but keeping his distance. They each have a secret. How they come together as Dhoom helps Naomi solve a mystery is wonderful. Lots of edge of the seat excitement and so many good feelings.

It has been quite a while since I have read such an intriguing, well-paced “enemies to lovers” Sci-Fi alien romance & it is a splendid addition to the series. This book can easily be read as a standalone even though it is part of the “Galaxy Sanctuary Alien Abduction” series. The plot has an emotional undertone and is exceptionally well-written, there is good world building & outstanding scene descriptions. The characters (a human female, Naomi) & (a red-eyed, horned alien gladiator, Dhoom) are portrayed as mature individuals with realistic emotional turmoil due to each of them having a devastating past.
There is: a compound (Sanctuary) on the planet (Fairea), humans, various kinds of aliens, an alien mafia cartel (MarZan), slavery, twists & turns, action, adventure, quests, intrigue, suspense, drama, memories, mystery, secrets, regrets, adversity, threats, danger, enemies, discovery, confrontations, vulnerability, compromises, redemption, mates, steamy scenes, love, happiness, contentment & best of all, a well-deserved satisfying conclusion. I look forward to the next book in this series with eager anticipation & would recommend this Sci-Fi alien romance to people who enjoy reading this genre.

I loved Dhoom. I love what it means Dhoom and I think it is a very accurat description of him. We really don't know the lengths we would go to survive, would we rather die or would we figth in other ways, doing everything we could to survive? Probably we would do what it was necessary. The guilt that the survivours have now that its something serious and only the can forgive themselfs. This book is about that, to be able to forgive ourwselfs and others. We also Discover some very emotional conections and new bonds if all types. I loved it!

I actually cried at a couple of points. Dhoom has so much self loathing and Naomi a deep well of sadness, coupled by a feeling of helplessness. They both deal with this in very different ways. This was my favourite of the series so far.

Another great addition to the Galaxy Sanctuary series! I was hoping these two characters would get their own story and I wasn't disappointed! There was action, heartache, redemption, self reflection and hope. I really liked how they came together and got their HEA. Definitely recommend.

With a startling discovery, the two main characters tackle a treasure hunt, where each clue leads to extreme danger and another clue. The result is a journey of self discovery and recriminations. It’s not easy when you start to question your worth. Warning: keep a box of Kleenex close by.

Wonderful addition to the Sanctuary series! I’ve been anxiously awaiting Dhoom and Naomi’s story and was hoping it would be an explosive one given their past interaction in previous stories and boy did Alana deliver. Plenty of action and romance along the way but how they come together in the end was truly wonderful. So much heartache and healing for these two!

Dhoom and Naomi are the two oldest member of Sanctuary. The story of how they get together is this latest story. As we've read in all the previous books in this series, the gladiators who were imprisoned and tortured by Khour are all so badly damaged mentally, physically and psychologically, they believe they aren't worthy of anything other than death,. Dhoom is no different. Naomi is his savior and their journey is special, because she is also looking for the daughter Khour snatched from her and sold twenty years ago. During this epic journey, Dhoom is her one constant, but will he always be there for her?
Highly recommended read.

4 1/2 ⭐️ !

This is the fifth story in the Galaxy Sanctuary series. While it could probably be read as a stand-alone. I DO NOT consider it as such. I recommend they be read in series’ date order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers. There are multiple reoccurring characters, concurrent / consecutive timelines and overarching themes that are built from the foundation laid by the first story in the original series (Zar). There are also a lot of details that occurred previously that would be lost, as they cannot be adequately explained within another story.

** There are multiple scenes, themes and references to subjects that will be difficult for sensitive readers. These include abduction, enslavement, forced mating, mental health challenges, and trafficking. A high-level list is included below. **

— Although I try to watch it, if you have not read this (or the previous stories in the series), the following may contain spoilers. —

The one thing that I miss, and believe would be extremely helpful, is a published reading order for the Galaxy universe. As I stated previously a good series is not all that easy to find. Everyone of the stories have to fit together without being repetitive, while still being engaging. The Galaxy universe created by Alana Khan is a great one that becomes better with each story and spin-off.

I enjoyed it, especially the treasure hunt, but when comparing it to the other stories in the universe, I found myself wanting more. I loved the slow 🔥, all puns included, and the chemistry was good. It just seemed a little strange to me that the two of them argued and around each other without any hint of attraction. Then boom! Around the same time they just both happen to ‘discover’ the other? Maybe if there was some type of event, issue, etc., but he sees her at the desk and she sees him checking out something under the desk. It just seemed like a wasted opportunity and why I couldn’t give it a full 5 ⭐️.

I mention the following for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow. There are a few grammatical errors between the story and other sections, but nothing difficult to interpret. These include typos, incorrect punctuation, incorrect capitalization and inconsistent format w/ possessive words in the preview of the next story. I uploaded my notes to goodreads for anyone interested.

Naomi and Dhoom both have secrets in their past that continue to influence their decisions and outlooksd. Naomi has become more like a drill sergeant and oversees every aspect of Sanctuary. Dhoom, although never formally nominated, seems to represent the men and others when decisions need to be made.

In this story, Naomi can’t find what caused a 100k credit issue within their books, so she asks Dhoom for help. He is happy to, but surprised Naomi asked him. When he is standing behind her looking at the screen, he suddenly is taken aback by her and sees her as a desirable female. Then she has to go take care of an issue with a delivery.

Dhoom sits down at the desk to look over the figures, but prefers to do them old school on pencil and paper. When he looks in the drawer, he notices that the dimensions for the top desk drawer doesn’t match the size of the other drawers. They have found so many other hidden items, that Dhoom is not surprised that Daneur Khour had another one, only that it took them so long to find it.

So Dhoom crawls under the desk to see if he can determine how to open the hidden panel. He is able to open it and then Naomi walks in. She notices how attractive Dhoom is, how muscular and manly he is built. Naomi recalls how much his looks scared her originally. On earth, Dhoom would be considered a Devil by some with his bright red eyes and hair he keeps in a topknot, but now Naomi only sees him. Then he tells her what he finds.

There is a series of numbers listed on the panel. It doesn’t take long for them to realize that it is coordinates to a spot on the grounds. Both of them are excited to think of what kind of things that Khour would hide so close to him. Naomi is hoping it is what she has been looking for the last 20 years. They agree to meet the next morning to begin the hunt … together.

⛔️ SERIES / GALAXY UNIVERSE contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including, but not limited to: adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD, etc.; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, etc.; violence throughout typical of the alien abduction genre such as kidnapping / abduction, murder / death, torture, assault, rape, fighting, human (species) trafficking, enslavement, pain/kill collar, mental, physical and sexual abuse of adults and children, prostitution, coercion, etc.

From enemies to lovers to forever!
Everyone has a past and the deeds of their past have become the torments of the present,
But forgiveness was the ointment and the love they shared the band-aid for their souls!
Neither Dhoom or Naomi ever asked to be leaders, it just kind of fell to both of them. Him over the gladiators and she to make sure that Sanctuary ran smoothly. Add the fact that they don't get along and it's easy to see why they avoid each others company unless it's a necessity. It's an easy truce.
When she asked him to help her look at a financial discrepancy, they discover a box underneath the desk that once belonged to their cruel deceased owner. It has no key, just coordinates to a destination. Let the hunt begin! ( Think Indiana Jones only sexier! )
Each of them have their own reasons for wanting to know what the box holds. All I'll say is, what it leads to, , OMG!!!
The hunt brings them closer to each other and soon it a way that neither can deny.
When passion finally explodes between them and the "Crimson Alpha" is let loose, will what they feel for each other be enough as the past meets the present?
This one is great! Take my word, it's full of OMG moments that had me like, "Whaaat?! I loved how he wouldn't let her go through any of it alone and even when they were apart, they were together.
DO NOT pass this one!

Another Home Run!

Dhoom and Naomi have been running things at Sanctuary since they all gained their freedom from Daneur Khour a year ago. Naomi runs the day to day operations and tries to keep them financially independent and keeps track of the females. Dhoom keeps track of the males and tries to run interference when Naomi gets too aggressive. They have done nothing but fight for the past year, so Dhoom is surprised when he finally takes a look at Naomi and realizes she is an attractive female instead of an adversary. They are working on the books together when Dhoom discovers a safe hidden in a secret compartment in Khour’s desk. There is no combination for the safe but there are physical coordinates to somewhere on the property. As Naomi and Dhoom embark on a dangerous mission to try and find the combination they learn to trust each other and realize that they really like each other. Naomi has been so fixated on trying to keep Sanctuary up and running and trying to defend themselves from other aliens invading their territory, she has lost touch with her feelings. She has been keeping her emotions suppressed for the 20 years she was a slave to Khour. She finally realizes she can lighten up a little bit and the world won’t fall apart. But what will Dhoom think of her if the safe holds what she thinks it does. But it seems that Naomi isn’t the only one with a secret!

One of my favorite books in the series!🔥🔥💖💖

As a mature woman myself I loved reading a book about an older female lead finding a love and relationship she never thought she'd have. Naomi was taken over 20 years ago sold and bought by one of the cruelest heads of the cartel in space. When she and the others were finally freed all she did was sorry about keeping everyone safe. No one ever asked her about her last of what sacrifices she had to make as a slave to a madman. Dhoom was stolen as a child and forced to become something he can't forgive himself for. When you are a child and a slave and want to stay alive some will do anything to live another day. Both Naomi and Dhoom have sacrificed and now they begin to see each other in a different light. A treasure hunt takes them in a journey of deep secrets revealed , trust earned and a love neither thought they were worthy of and found out they needed more than anything else. Forgiveness and acceptance are some of the most powerful things we can give ourselves and each other and this book show cases that. And amazing read highly recommend💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥🔥💖🔥💖💖💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖💖💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖

Naomi was a slave for 20 years and since they all gained their freedom, she now runs Sanctuary. She's constantly looking for ways to make money to keep thing running and to protect Sanctuary from other factions trying to take over.. Dhoom was a gladiator and did what he had to do to survive. He helps Naomi run Sanctuary. Both have secrets and don't feel they deserve anything good. Going through the accounts one day, trying to find a discrepancy leads to finding a secret safe. But no combination. This leads to a treasure hunt, which brings the former couple, that fought all the time, to become closer. Much closer. Alanna really draws us into her imagination quickly and tenaciously; spinning her story, weaving in danger, hunting for the treasure, angst, growth, secrets, enemies, steamy scenes and a well deserved HEA.
Lead characters you love, bad guys to hate, and an enthralling fast paced tale that you can't put down.

This book is fantastic and a wonderful addition to the series. This author has an amazing way with words and her world building that will leave you unable to put the book down. She has the ability to create worlds never seen before and fill you with emotions that leave you laughing and crying and hating the villains wìth anger equal to the passion building between the characters of her books. Naomi and Dhoom have both been slaves for decades and even though they have been freed the past still lingers in their hearts and minds.

Naomi and Dhoom make a major discovery and go out on an adventure that will change their lives forever. This book is an absolute must read and I highly recommend this author and this series to everyone who loves syfy romance. I guarantee you will love it as much as I did. Be sure to pick up a copy you will be so very very glad that you

Naomi and Dhoom have been familiar characters for several novels now. I was quite pleased to see that this was their story. Watching both of them behave in such closed off and detached ways, I was intrigued to find out where they relationship would go. Yes, the world of slavery and gladiators and gladiators was hard to stomach- yet it’s influence seem to touch everyone involved. I was really touched to see the story unfold for Naomi and Dhoom as well as many other members of Sanctuary. It is so true that revealing the truth has the power to set you free!

I received an ARC and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.

What an excellent book! I haven't read any other books in this series, but after this, I'll have to go back and read them. This is a standalone, but I have to read more of this world. Great world building. But for me, the star(s) of this book are the characters. Dhoom and Naomi were such wonderful, realistic characters. Lots of emotion and I loved them both pretty early on. (What I wouldn't give to give Dhoom a hug!) This story was full of action and suspense. I couldn't put it down. Very well written and well paced. You can never go wrong with one of Alana Khan's wonderful and captivating books! I loved it. Highly recommended. 5 stars.

The first part of the story was like an adventure, finding clues that will lead to a treasure. Then the second part was finding that lost treasure. Then the third part was a happy moment but heartbreaking at the same time. The past came as a gift, but to the other, to haunt the present. And the last part was my favorite, the reunion.

This was like the story of a lifetime, but it's only a part. There were instances in the story that would make you think about your life, the mistakes you make and the things you did to survive. And then there's acceptance, and starting a new life with the person who loves you.

This story stayed in my mind even after I have finished reading it.

My favorite in this series

I've so enjoyed this series. But this one is really the best for me. I love the redemption of the main female and male leads. The romance between them is real and believable.

This story is about two mature characters who have suffered so much, done reprehensible things, but are so lonely and weighed down with responsibility. How they eventually turn towards each other and find their way out of such grief is wrenching but wonderful.

I can't find anything negative to say about this story. It's just that good.

If you're interested in characters over 40 finding love and a true relationship, read this.

Alana Khan is one of my favorite authors. Warning: There are graphic adult scenes so this should be read by a mature audience. Her characters are very well written with in depth feelings and emotions. You can feel what they do by the way she writes. Dhoom is wracked with guilt from what he has done as a slave and believes that he is not deserving to be loved. This book shows how he and his love both cope with the things they went through before they were free. This is an EXCELLENT story. I enjoyed it and would recommend it.

How does one move on in a positive manner when he or she is paralyzed with remorse over past actions they were forced to make? Dhoom and Naomi gave worked together for the safety, security and advancement of Sanctuary's inhabitants. Yet each individual is haunted by devastating secrets. Quests, trials, great character development and love unfold in this riveting story.

great read

Excellent ending to the sanctuary series. I am enjoyed hearing about all of the new relationships happening in the universe and The births of the children of the gladiators and their human mother mates. Reading about the settling of the sanctuary and how it all worked to be completed. Well done

Dhoom

Dhoom turned out to have surprise after surprise. Some of them huge! I couldn't believe all that I was witnessing on those pages as I continued to read furiously to find out what was next. Its 6:11 in the morning. I haven't been to sleep yet. I'm looking to see what's up next. Can't wait to get it started. I love Alana's world building skills.
