So while I initially dnf-ed this, it just kept roaming around in my mind, haunting my sleep, ruining my reads so I had to pick it up again.
Le Sigh~
This time around I finished it and of course I liked it. To address my previous review below, I feel like the art does get better or maybe I just got used to it, I don't know but the strain on my eyes was a lot less just the same. The plot. . . was still kinda one dimensional but the sweetness? covered that. The romance was so sweet and just I still smile when I think of it. Sounds like a winner to me.

Chp 56/80
It wasn't bad, the art definitely left a lot to be desired imo and the plot did too if we're being honest but the reason this is being shipped to the dnf graveyard is cause there were pages missing online and this just wasn't good enough for me to look past that *shrugs*
Everything about this webtoon is ridiculous, this was what I said earlier with 2 stars.
And now: Everything about this webtoon is insignificant and ridiculous; story, characters, lines. (Art was fine some times and was absolutely laughable other times. This is confusing, ya know?)
STATUS: Main Story 1-82 Chapters Side Story 83-/On-going
This is the story of Sabina who suddenly gets teleported to middle ages European style setting/world after a freak accident. She gets taken in by a duke of the kingdom who forces her to become a concubine to the ugly old emperor against her will. When the king is killed by a mysterious assassin, the king's only son offers her a deal and pretty much forces her to become a queen because he believes she is the only person he can trust with the royal seat.
Sabina tries to retain a sense of identity and self-respect in the face of her lack of freedom but there is a lot of who want the royal seat and Sabina's only ally is the newly crowned king Luke. Sabina is pretty badass using her wits and strategies to survive inner place's politics and she wins the heart of the male lead with her cleverness.
Luke, the male lead, weirded me out in the beginning but later my mind went from "He's got issues" to "Awwww they're so cute together. I want a man like that" real quick. There are a few ''this would be really offensive in the modern world'' moments between the couple but since this is a fantasy and a different world you have to go with the flow. Those moments were generally enjoyable if a bit over the top but I've never felt like characters weren't relatable at all.
The story is well driven and good paced and it's without a doubt in my top 10 in my favorites list. Things get a bit dull halfway through but later it picks up and becomes even greater than it was at the beginning. There are a few times, I felt like the story just meandered with no sense of direction but overall it was (and still is) an enjoyable ride. I highly recommend reading it!
I can't keep reading this. I gave it three chances and everytime I was frustrated. At first I gave up because of the Prince's measly disguise when he murdered the king. Like he didn't even try to hide that it was him!!!! 😩😩😩 How can you call wearing all black a disguise when you freaking YELLOW hair is poking out everywhere!
Then I just gave up when the guy (the prince?) kept thinking about how he could just force himself on the main girl and how EASY it would be for him to do it but he wouldn't because he just has to wait till she wants him too. He doesn't think like this one time. Oh no he thinks this on multiple occasions when he's alone with the main girl. He's trying to convince us he's a nice guy but a nice guy wouldn't think like that. Oh yes, everyone round of applause for this man who found it in his heart to not to rape someone! How kind of him! *sarcasm*
(read the manhwa) It was a good read! The developing romance was really cute and I really respect that the ml was really understanding. The fl is really smart and i like how the story didn't just brush off her past lives and instead incorporated in her growth. Big bonus was the ending, I was satisfied and loved how we get to see how her kids grow up and how they carried on her heritage. Overall I really liked it and would recommend it for a great, healthy romance.
It was exciting at first because the girl, Sabina was a strong lead. She did not take any criticism from anyone and knows when to put them in their place. Bina is always self-aware of the danger she is in and has an expected response to survive. The art style is great which has its own unique style in it. However, as I read through it, the story went to a lot of different directions that just made me confused. Sometimes the progress is slow and I got bored. It does have it's good moments but not enough for me to finish it.
Bina is tough but only to certain characters... about a few of them. To other girls such as the villainess, she's pretty much useless at times. She tried to act smart during the invasion and it did not go well. The male lead was very laughable because his disguise to complete his plan was not convincing. I think he was even lazy to bother hiding his blond hair. I'm assuming the only blond hair in the kingdom! I don't really see character development. Luke does become kind but it's mostly because he's in love with the girl. There's no individual development, such as how did he do this? Where did he found out about this? How was he able to escape? We don't really see what he does as a king since the story focuses more on the main character. There was some story background on other side characters but it's not much. And there's Lizbeth who was never really needed because she did not make any changes or progress to the story. I think she was added for the drama which is unnecessary because it just annoyed me. I did not enjoy it. Practically the most useless one I have ever seen. Well, at least they try to do something with her. I don't really feel for the characters and because of that, it didn't affect me for any character death. I felt nothing. The story does get dull and I had to skip a couple of chapters just to speed things up. That's why I gave up on reading it, it just lost my interest that quickly.
For people who are not comfortable with trying to make someone fall in love with them despite being rejected countless on time. Luke even thought about trying to force himself on her. I don't recommend this. The story has around 120 or more chapter and this includes the side stories. Now, was it worth my time? No.

Sorry, it wasn't that great. It did have a good premise but that's it. The story is short and that's fine actually. There weren't too many characters introduced. The two main characters were the true stars of this webtoon, the main villain and just side characters that complete the story. The problem was that the main character tries to find ways to return to Korea and she basically makes a point to her now love interest that that is all she desires and he has to accept it. She also makes a point that she doesn't want to give in to him or fall in love with him as it may become difficult for her to return home. Yet he tries to woo her as he has fallen for her and well the rest becomes history. The one think that stood out out of all these isekai manhwas was the heroine telling the love interest her true origins. I was hoping for some good game changer comparing it to all the others where its a secret.. Arg...
Don't understand why there is a sequel but it's been called a special chapter every time for 80+ chapters...
Do I recommend it: Its straight to the point but still disappointing.
I love this story so much. I’m sad it ended I wish the story of Sabina and Luke could go on forever and ever! This story is one of my all time favorites that I ever came across, it keeps you on the edge of your seat and excited to read more! Thank you so much for such an amazing read!! This is on the top of my list!
I liked the characters and the court politics but the story itself is quite foreseeable and simple. It has problems with its execution and the world building is a bit little as the story is contained within the castle. That is not exactly my cup of tea but if you're into a relatively simple and foreseeable romance with interesting characters and a bit of court politics, you might like this.
I was not feeling the ML's manipulative tendencies

DNF Chapter 51
The scans and translations were getting to be all over the place, and I wasn't interested enough in where the story was going to search out a better translated version
This is another good isekai story that I've read, but to be honest, the story line is a mess that it's confusing sometimes. Some panels seems rushed and the way they show a flashback in the middle of the arc seems off. There are also a lot of plotholes in this story. But I like the characters in this story, especially Luke and Bina. Luke always made me speechless. He is sweet towards Bina, but you can see how possessive he is that he is willing to do bad stuff just to keep her by his side. While Bina is also a smart character. Even if she isekaid in this new world, she was able to adjust quickly in the new world. The special episodes of this manhwa seems like another season and some of the chapters doesnt make sense.
Bina & Luke are truly made for one another. They’re cunning & kinda twisted but their love for each other is so real. I smiled happily seeing they grow old together but felt a bit sad when the story progressed to their great-granddaughter. It just means that my Bina & Luke are no longer here & somehow my heart ached. Ah how attached I am to them. Nonetheless, still a good story! The art also gets better towards the end. I enjoyed this!
i absolutely LOVED the romance in here. it was just too sweet >3< the politics and drama was really interesting as well; that's surprising for me because politics irl is just dumb, in my humble opinion, and i usually don't like it too much in books either.
if you like sweet romance and political mischief, then this manhwa is for you! the cheesiness in this one was soooo fluffy and cute and just ajsdflksjdfksjf-
there were some darker/slightly more mature moments, so i'd recommend this for 13+. but otherwise, this was a wholesome, charming, quick read.
(speaking of charming, THE ART WAS SO GORGEOUS IN HERE.)
Although there is criticism up ahead, I appreciate that this series was light-hearted and mostly fun to read. The art style is adorable and the author did a good job hooking the audience. Spoilers up ahead!
Summary: the heroine falls into a fantasy world where she is sold off as a concubine to the sleazy old Emporer. She crosses paths with an assassin who murders her new husband, which she quickly identifies as the prince himself. In order to survive the schemes of this cutthroat hierarchy, she forces an alliance with the murderer in hopes to make it back to her own world; modern-day Korea.
Personal Criticism: - RAPID PROGRESSION: Within the first few chapters, the prince (new Emporer) has already fallen head over heels in love with our lead. I admit that his strong desire to win over her trust was endearing, and his growing feelings were beautifully written by the author, but as a notoriously cold man with such a dark past, I hoped to see more subtle progression of companionship before exploding into passion. The main plot of returning back to her world ended pretty quickly and progressed into a new storyline of high society's greed to replace her power as empress. Although the obvious outcome would result in their failure, I felt like those conflicts lacked depth and detail, which made the story predictable and somewhat disappointing.
- ONE DIMENSIONAL CHARACTERS: Everyone was predictable. The empress dowager probably had the best character development. Her tender composure during the execution as well as the fact that she loved her husband's father was a great arch. Lisbeth was an annoying crybaby with no organization within her schemes, and even though it is obviously intended to make her out as such; she was the main antagonist at some point in the plot, yet had no threatening aspects that would stir the pot of the story. She would simply show up, oogle at the Emporer, and cry when he obviously rejected her advances every time. I enjoyed watching her spiral into her own madness and obsession, hoping that it would develop her into a better villain, but she was killed off so unexpectedly. I remember reading the chapter and being left in confusion like, "what, what? that's it?" The good characters we good, but somewhat forgettable since they didn't have a strong impression in the story; they contributed very little to the plot at times.
- PLOT COVERAGE: I thought about it hard. I expected Bina to stay in the fantasy world, but I still felt dissatisfied with the fact that there was little coverage of her original life. Then I realized that this was probably the best way to write it. The dimensional portals are unexplainable and dangerous. People often do not survive once they fall through, and even if she managed to slip in, there was no guarantee she would be sent back to the right timeline. The author did a good job of incorporating Bina's inner thoughts into her current life and reminiscing about her family, but I still personally wished for something like a small side story of Bina's family and friends' perspective in their dimension, mourning/investigating the death of their loved one. These are all personal laments that I do not hold against the author's decisions! Everyone can't have it their way, and imagination is a huge part of enjoying a story. The last 2-3 chapters felt like someone started an assignment 1 hour before the due date. There were no hints at Empress Bea finding a love interest, yet she had grandchildren. My biggest complaint is how the author progresses 2-3 generations down the timeline with a new character stumbling into the empire and cuts it off so abruptly as the series finale.
NGL, this manhwa was predictable, I almost decided to discontinue reading this second book. Ultimately though, what really convinced me to see it through were the political scheming and the back-and-forth between the hero and heroine. Fun, beautiful illustrations and a fairytale-esque plot.
I’ve been going back to forth on this series. When I first read it, I thought it was WAYY to cliche and easy and didn’t want to read it. Despite that, it kept being brought up in my mind. I finally gave it and went past the first few chapters. After that, I found myself actually enjoying the story. Like had a huge character development. He became a literal different person. But that’s only because of his love for Bina. Although it was insta love, it was really cute. I love how devoted they were to each other. There was this once part when Bina found a way home and Luke was contemplating on what he should do to make Bina stay, it scared me. His ideas show how truly wicked he is, but at the same time- it’s very sad. It showed how he would be if Bina wasn’t there with him. That was a sad part but I’m really happy Bina stayed. It can’t be easy leaving your family for something foreign, but at least it was a promising future. That part when they pretended to have an argument because the duchess was trying to force her daughter or whatever to be the empress, I laughed. I knew everything was too dramatic to be true and I was right. It was fun really getting to know the characters. I love their relationship and the plot wasn’t too terrible at all. I enjoyed my time.

This comic was not entirely what I had expected. I began reading it since Tappytoon offered a chapter a day free. I wasn't very impressed at the beginning. It felt like the author hadn't put in quite enough research for the time period (though it takes place in another world, and I've hardly read enough historical romances to be an expert).
That said, the more I read, the more interesting it got, and eventually, I couldn't put it down. I just ended up buying the entire thing. The main characters, Sabina and Lucretius, have the healthiest relationship I've ever seen (in real like and fiction). Their relationship is perhaps most of the reason why I read it. Don't get me wrong, the political intrigue is interesting... But, for the most part, predictable. Still, I think it was good for what I can only assume was this author's debut work (if not, than at least in this genre).
I would read it (again) and definitely recommend to anyone who loves romance and doesn't mind a few inaccuracies to be the greatest bane of their existence.
It's ok. There were times I find the story quick. But their romance is really cute. After the main plot, you'd expect a quick wrap up but it dabbles in the life of her children and descendants.
Should you read this book? If you just love isekai stories then you can read this. But if your looking for a memorable book yo read. This isn't one of those.
The ending wasn't as tight as expected, but the more I read about her descendants, the more I wanna know about her family. How did her daughters live? How did she and her husband die? Things like that. It's very sweet but this is not the story of her family but Bina's story. The ending made me a little sad but know I'm curious why that portal existed.
This makes me sound like the epilogue is better than the main plot. Which kinda is. There weren't many subplots involved and the schemes and plans end fairly quickly. There also was a second attempt of a conflict between the ML and FL when the composer showed up but it quickly ended. It might have been more interesting if this occurred side by side with the main plot.
I read this book via Webnovel. From what I can gather, it is not available as a printed book.
I loved it! It’s about a girl from 21st century Korea who gets hit by a train and is transported to a whole other world. She is found by a duke who sells her to the emperor to become his concubine. But this is only the start for Sa Bina. This novel is packed full of court politics, cute romances, revenge, and self-discovery. This also comes in comic form if you go to the TappyToon website. The illustrations for it are so good!
There were quite a few spellings mistakes, actually that’s an understatement. There were A LOT! But I was able to figure out what they meant to say.
Another issue I had were the many, MANY epilogues at the end. The first 2 epilogues were great. But i ended up skimming the last 3. They were pretty meh.
I highly recommend this book. I had to read it every chance I got!
Warning that the world the MC transmits to is a sexist society, where women are treated as objects.
PPL in the reviews says that the ML said that he can rape MC. Which is true. He can.
The manwha isn't trying to make the ML a good person. Luke continues to frame people for things that have not been done. For example, he poisoned Sabina so he could frame someone for causing a royal miscarriage. HE'S A MORALLY BAD PERSON. Sabina isn't a good person also she values a horse's life more than a human's.
Then why is he the hero of the story??? It's because he's the best person there is. Empress dowager abuses her daughters, doesn't care about the people and she forced Luke to see his own mother's execution. Compared to her and any other protagonist he is a good person.
The story is about how Sabina who makes a deal with the devil to be his wife for eternity.
I enjoyed this one but it's not great, the plot has some loose things that don't make sense, and there are important things happening but they don't show you, they just happened and that's it, so I think it could have been much better. Regarding the characters, I liked them, the protagonist is very funny and I totally understand her, after all she is an ordinary 20-year-old girl dragged into that world. I liked the protagonist a lot most of the time but not in others, sometimes he was VERY selfish with respect to the situation of the protagonist and he even consider manipulating her so that she does not leave him so that is why he lost a lot of points. The secondary characters are fine and the plot doesn't go too far into them so there isn't much to say.
Overall, I really liked the story and the romance between Bina and Luke. I honestly loved how they're good people but not faultless. They have dark thoughts and they are schemers.
I felt that the start and resolution of the conflict with the Empress Dowager was too sudden but that might be because the events leading up to it were so slow-paced. While I expected it to happen eventually, that part of the story should have been developed more.
I feel like a 3 star is too generous. The male lead thinking how if he wanted he could basically just r*pe her, but it makes him so nice to wait for her???? And how he would force her to stay against her own will??? Ladies and gentleman, that's a red flag.
The story wasn't well executed, it fell flat and was undeveloped. Everything happened way too quickly and it had 0 tension. Personally, I was bored and I also wasn't a fan of the art. I stopped reading because I would rather spend time reading something I'm actually enjoying.
