Four Gospels. One Jesus. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and The different details, timelines, and emphases of each Gospel can make it difficult to picture the whole narrative. And The Chosen TV series acknowledges its own timeline for the unique purposes of the show. That's why we've created The Chosen A Blended Harmony of the Gospels. We want you to see the factual accounts in one chronological story. You'll Immerse yourself in the greatest story ever told.
When the entirety of the book is taken straight from the Bible, you can't find any flaws in it. This book takes the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) and combines them into a "seamless narrative" that's split into forty days.
It was refreshing to read the Gospel of Jesus in its entirety without having to flip through pages finding a story that's in only one or two of the Gospels.
I always hear so many people say that they never know where to start when reading the Bible, and I think this book would be a good starting place. It tells everything about the life of Jesus from the Bible without adding or subtracting anything.
I wish I could give this one 6 stars. I'm familiar with the Bible, and love reading God's Word. I have many verses (and even a few chapters) memorized, and have read through it from cover to cover a few times. This blending of the gospels was a real treat, and I was sorry to have it end. I really hope plans are in the works to finish the rest of the New Testament. For every Christian eager to fill themselves with The Father's voice through His Word, and for every person trying to make sense of the whole story of Jesus's life on earth, and His gift of the cross, thus us a book you definitely want to own. One you will want (no drudgery here) to read again and again and again.
I read the 40 chapters as a daily devotional and found it to be very inspiring… The fact that it’s in chronological order makes it easier to comprehend the timeline of events which can become somewhat confusing when reading the four gospels separately. (A good example is when you look at the different appearances of Jesus after the resurrection and prior to His ascension.) Overall, I think the book is excellent and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it for all believers, most especially for those who are new converts!
With this resource, you get the Gospel story in chronological order blending al four gospels without the duplication.
The way this was put together removes all distractions of book, chapter, verse, so that the reader can focus on the narrative. Of course, for those who care about book, chapter, verse, they make that available as an appendix.
Well obviously the new testament contains phenomenal stories and the life of Jesus. That being said - I did not care for this rendition. The concept seemed good - to put the stories of Christ's life in chronological order for a "blended" iteration of the gospels. However - for me - while somewhat interesting to read it in this way - the wording was very different than that to which I'm accustomed and one lost the different perspectives of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Therefore I'm only giving it 2 stars because throughout the reading - at least for me - it just didn't feel like it was doing justice to the gospels.
These folks have put together four stories of Jesus (The Gospels) into one narrative that reads like a biography. Using the Christian Standard Bible (c. 2017) as the source, the harmonizers have made a readable and relatable report that shows both the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ. Easy to read, comprehend and enjoy, this short book puts Jesus' last three years especially into perspective. As I read the book, I couldn't help but see THE CHOSEN TV series.
For most people reading the Gospels can be a daunting task. First of all, they were written at various times for different audiences. Secondly, the chronological order of the accounts were hampered because not every evangelist included the same occurrences. This work synthesizes the four Gospels into a coherent, chronological account of the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in 40 readings. It is referenced to specific biblical readings to aid in the reading. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This “series” is just a money grab at this point. Not a new perspective, just rearranging millennia old stories. How about some new analysis? New thoughts? How about the unread/unknown gospels? If this wasn’t part of my bible study club, I would never suggest these books.
This uses the CSB translation, which is overall accurate and easy to understand. It's divided into readings for 40 days which is handy. In a few spots it was blended oddly, but for the most part well done. The cover is beautiful and sturdy. The small size is great for travel and reading in bed.
