Hannah Huntsford is scared for her life.

She's seen a lot during her time as a private investigator, but she's never stared down a murderer before until now.

This wasn't the plan. It had started out as a simple infidelity investigation.

Then, in the middle of Hannah's stakeout, she heard a woman's blood-curdling scream.

She couldn't ignore it. She refused to turn her back on danger.

Hannah ran into a neighbor's backyard.

That's when she came toe to toe with a masked killer.

Will Hannah find a way to cheat death?

A cute tiny house mystery addition

A good, easy going summer read. I'm going to keep reading this series to see where things are going with Hannah and Tyler.

Tiny House, Big Murder earns 5/5 Garden Gnomes…Entertaining!

Luck can be a way to live one’s best life. Hannah had great luck when she won the tiny house in a raffle, and now she’s loving the glorious views, “picnic pals,” and the budding friendship with her neighbor, Detective O’Connor. But, luck is also fickle. A scream. A dead body. A threatening shadow. A near miss. Just another day in the life of a private eye, except how will she deal with the nightmares? Hannah is a material witness, and invaluable to the detective working well as a team, professionally and personally. The interrogations are clever, but no real peril to be rescued from…but, I liked the clues, the motives, and the final arrest.

But, PI work can be complicated. Case one—A wife suspects her husband of cheating, but instead of finding him in the arms of another woman, Hannah discovers him neck deep in another addiction. Case two—A man is suspicious of his eighteen-year-old stepson, an opinion his wife does not share. He wants proof his stepson really is the “punk” he believes him to be, so she’s off on some professional stalking. The clients aren’t shocked, but the aftermath of the revelations is incomplete.

M.Z. Potts writing is entertaining with a first-person narrative, fun banter, and characters I’ve enjoyed following their growth.

Disclosure: I purchased the book set which includes books one thru three, but wanted to share my thoughts on the individual story.

Where’s the action? ( said in the same vernacular as the Where’s the beef commercial). This had no twists, no turns and no red herrings. I didn’t care if they found out who murdered the woman, she was not even a known entity in the story. She was a virtual nobody and it would have been better if she was at least a neighbour. A murder in the housing park would have been good. I’m glad there are no further mysteries in this series in the virtual box I downloaded as I am not sure they’ll get any better. The romance moves at a snail’s pace and is rather painful at this point.

While in the middle of a suspected infidelity case, P.I. Hannah Huntsford hears a woman scream and goes to investigate. A woman is on the ground with a rope around her neck and the killer is still there!! Unfortunately, the killer is covered from head to toe in all black and the only thing Hannah sees is a pair of menacing blue eyes staring at her. After throwing a garden gnome at her, the killer ran away.

The murder victim was Maggie Gibson. She was employed by Zeggnix, the company making virtual reality headsets. Detective Tyler O'Connor has a few suspects and hopes that Hannah can help identify the killer.

Who killed Maggie? Why was she killed? Is the killer out to get Hannah? Can Tyler and Hannah solve the mystery before somebody else dies?

This is a great addition to the new series. Great characters and wonderful situations with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader guessing clear to the end.

Tiny House, Big Murder
Southern Midlife Treasure Trove Cozy Mystery, Book 2
By: M.Z. Potts, Meredith Potts

I love these cases MZ Potts give us. She is creates the best small town feels, with good treats, nosy neighbors and a bit of romance right along with the craziness that happens in Treasure Trove. Hannah is now enjoying her new, tiny home. Living near Daphne and the interesting Detective O'Connor is a huge plus. That is until she witnesses a murder. Now the only one who can help identify the suspect, she is working closely with the detective. Will it turn out to be more than just professional? Well, dig into the quirky town, find out the victim and possible suspects. It's a great whodunnit that kept me on my toes and let me enjoy that small town community.

Stephanie Quinn continues her narration of this series. I love her voice, perfect for the cozy mystery feel. She keeps her character voices consistent from book to book and adds in the new with ease. Great with comedic timing and building that air of suspense, she performs a fun listen!

4 Star review Tiny House, Big Murder (Southern Midlife Treasure Trove Cozy Mystery #2)
by M Z Potts & Meredith Potts

Audio Review:
Tiny House, Big Murder was an entertaining cozy mystery with suspense, intrigue and enough clues to satisfy my detective heart.
Life in Treasure Cove has been difficult after a bitter divorce but private investigator Hannah has moved on with her life. Being an investigator can be dangerous and when she witnesses a murderer fleeing the scene in her tiny home village she knows that she could well be in danger as well. Determined to help her detective friend with his investigation, her suspicions will create more questions than answers.
Will they be able to solve the intriguing mystery. This is a well written story that kept and held my attention. Narrator Stephanie Quinn did a good job and I enjoyed her performance although her southern drawl was a little difficult to understand on occasion.

Hannah's boss has a brush with death on the way to work, so she picks up an extra case. Not only is she trailing a husband for a wife, but a son (stepson) for a stepfather. The wife thinks the husband is cheating. The stepfather has been telling the mother that her son is up to no good, but she won't believe him. He wants Hannah to follow him so that he has proof that the son is up to no good. In the process of trailing her people, she hears a scream and goes to help. She finds a dead woman and locks eyes with the killer. The new detective (Tyler) has Hannah join him with questioning. After that, Hannah is targeted at her home. Tyler insists that Hannah stays at his house for the night to make sure she is safe. They discover a clue that leads them to track the killer by foot. They are able to get video footage from a store and track down the killer.

*Note that some of Hannah's cases are on the risky side, but she does not go in to details.

Second one wasn't as good as the first. Light and fluffy - but sometimes really stupid.

Killer leaves something on her porch. Asked if she had any idea when, she said no, except the time she went to bed. But, and remember, she's a Private Investigator, she has just told us about her ordeal during the night, when she hears noises outside. She checks all around - and opens her front door - around 3:00 am ... and there was no one there, and nothing on her porch. Seriously???? Five hours later she doesn't remember that she'd checked her front porch??? Really stupid. Makes me wonder if she re-reads when she's finished writing.

Tiny house – big hopes!

Hannah is enjoying her new tiny house in the tiny house village and having her friend, Daphne, as a neighbor. Her job as a private investigator may not always be exciting but it pays the bills. The excitement picks up when she comes face-to-face with a killer and as the only witness, the police need her help.

M.Z. Potts writes such fun cozy mysteries! I like this series with its drama, mystery, and a little hint of romance. I received a review copy but my review is honest and voluntary.

A simple investigation turns deadly. Hannah hears a woman scream while on a stakeout as she throws caution to the wind and rushes in. She’ll cross path with a masked man will she be able to survive or be dead?

The quiet life of Hannah has become less than ideal since winning the lottery. A charming series.

This was Book 2 in the Southern Midlife Cozy Mysteries. I had read the first book and wanted to continue on in the series as book one left me at a cliffhanger. This one was really good the author kept up with the same characters but their are big changes to their life. There is also still crimes to solve some to close to ones front door. M.Z. hit a home run with this book!
