Great fun! I took my time so as to absorb all the details, and now I want to go back and rewatch all of the movies. Again.
When my 11-year-old nephew discovered this on my library pile, he exclaimed, "This is the book I always wanted!" Guess I know what to put on his birthday list....
Loved this book but then I'm a fan of the Marvel movies. It's a coffee table book meaning it's over sized, hard cover in full color with shiny, slick pages. The cover contains Vision, Okoye, Iron Man, Gamora, Thor's hammer, Captain America's shield, Baby Groot, the Eye of Agamotto, Star-Lord's helmet, etc. This book has all the Marvel characters from Avengers to Guardian of the Galaxy to Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, etc. It contains as appropriate their weapons, armor, etc. It has all the Iron Man suits which I found interesting. It contains the main characters plus villains and supporting characters like Yondu from Guardians of the Galaxy and Agent Coulson from the Avengers.
I would think this gorgeous book would be something Marvel movie fans must have. Yeah, the price is steep at $30 but... it's a gorgeous book about your favorite characters and iconic items such as Doctor Strange's cloak, Iron Man's armor, Thor's hammer, Captain America's shield. I still feel this is a book worth having. You could try ebay for a cheaper copy but I don't know how successful you'd be.
Oh, and I just realized that the cover of my book is not quite the same as the one I'm reviewing. On the front is Iron Man as on my book but it has Nebula rather than Gamora. Not sure that it's matters. Same contents different covers?
Certainly a well put together book that gives a concise breakdown of the MCU. Unfortunately there’s really nothing new to learn if you pay attention to the movies themselves. I’m also convinced I’m not missing anything by skipping the Marvel studios television series since not even Agent Carter’s Show was referenced once.
If I didn't have so many Marvel books already I might have need to buy this. This is very clear, very informative, very interesting. This explores the whole 10 years, character by character. I loved this.
Lots of excellent pictures, descriptions, and backstory for the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. This really added a lot to my knowledge of both characters, and plot lines. A good tool for quick references too, as it has a thorough index in the back. Not too wordy, and easy to read.
This book is a very descriptive guide to the already expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is my all time favorite movie franchise. It describes each character and element thus far introduced and furthers information for readers to know more about.
