After being sentenced to a life sealed away in the dark recesses of the family mansion at a young age, one brother pays for his death, another for his survival. Twin brothers clinging to one other to overcome their own dark past become the salvation of his body, mind, and heart.
Hendrik Iversen has been alone and outcast from his own family, longing for the end to come. But when his twin captors turn into his caretakers, Hendrik wants nothing more than to begin the future the three have envisioned and planned together. Those hopes and dreams are endangered by an evil, vindictive woman, whose devious plots and intrigues threaten to rip the three young men apart and throw their lives into utter disarray.
More secrets are revealed, adding to the confusion Hendrik must face. Will the love of his caretakers be enough for him to face the dark past and built a bright future?
H.M. Wolfe lives with the coolest Mom in the Universe and a fat, gay, submissive tomcat. She loves writing stories about boys and men who love, cherish, respect and protect other boys and men.
That was one exhilarating read pressured with dangers and adrenaline that entwine beautifully with sweet loving moments that will make your heart to swoon and soar. And old enemy makes it presence know and its more thirsty for revenge as ever, having an hidden agenda that even its allies aren't aware of. Post traumatic incidents starts to make sense as secrets are brought to light, avarice and greed are paid with innocent suffering and plans are being sent in motion that could change things drastically. I loved the caring, protective nature of our beloved characters that makes everything possible in protecting the loved ones. New loves form, old ones start to take shape, and the new bonds that forms are stronger and full of love and devotion. A new strategist is born after being surrounded with love and warmth, its plans making possible a break in which they can relax and enjoy family time. It was an enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to see what happens next with our beloved characters.
I loved this book. Hendrick Iversen is a outcast from his family kept in a dark place in the family mansion. One brother want him dead and the other wants him alive. What happens when Hendrik's captors turn into caretakers? Will their dreams be destroyed by a evil woman after them. Will they survive the secrets and live a life of happiness? This is one book you wont be able to put down.
I freaking loved this... Yes the writing is formal... This author has formal writing but there's sexy stuff... Laughter.. Emotions.. And twins... Twins sharing a boy.. did I mention twins lol. Mmm love taboo fun!!
I have only one thing to say....get your mitts on this fantastic, magnificent, emotionally charged, action packed, five alarm flaming hot, and totally awesome read ASAP!!!!
This book just didn't do it for me, so I will probably be in the minority with this review of what I felt was a train wreck waiting to happen. This is the second book in the series that again, is part of a massive previously established universe.
I found the storyline highly unbelievable most of the time. I mean the whole thing with the Kingmaker and Hendrick's mother... that would seriously NEVER happen. The whole thing leading up to the hospital, I had to Google to figure out if that was legit or not... It might have been more believable if symptoms were actually explained, but that must have happened off page too.
The writing style of the author is VERY formal, but I still feel like it is scattered. Everyone gets POV's and there are massive things that take place off page. I found the descriptors used didn't match either. Hendricks was supposed to be 17, but in intimate scenes, he kept getting referred to as the younger boy, which made me squick in a bad way. Ian also cut up his food and fed him like he was 5 and that was super weird too (nevermind he was unconscious for a week, he would have been on a pretty liquid diet at that point).
All of the character's sound the same. Same speaking pattern, cadence, vocabulary... they all just run together. Like I said, there was a lot that didn't work for me and very little that did.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Book two in The kingmaker Sons Series and my oh my, the bloodlines sure does run deep. Siblings reunited without actually realizing the connection.
Lamar, Hendrick and Laurent connected from the start and I'm so happy they found each other. Although I didn't need Kleenex this time around I enjoyed reading this book, in fact I read it twice...lol
We didn't get the full story of the Duvall Clan I'm sure the author has something more for us where we will then see how all the fractions comes together.
With all the new characters coming into play lots of plots and twists coming to the surface. A few questions comes to mind; Will Hendrick accept Nathaniel as who he really is to him? Who is the 'Puppeteer '? Will Juliana get her just deserve?
Julianna is like a feline who has nine lives, there is no way someone like her can be so lucky all the time, but I guess there is more to her than meet the eye.
Thank you HM Wolfe for allowing me to read you wonderful work, for and honest review. These books, these boys...my boys, my men, as I dub them keeps me wanting more and I'm sure you will continue to give us the readers more, more to keep us on our toes. Thank you again...looking forward to reading book two.
Freakin phenomenal!! Hendrick had a horrible life before he is kidnapped! His family treated him horribly, as if he was the dirt under their feet, a family outcast, a pariah. When he is taken is when he’s treated with kindness, something he is not used to. I loved the twins!! So many emotions rolled through me as I was reading this, so freakin good! I love this world that the author has created!! I love how she gives us a smidge of previous characters! Overall phenomenal!! It was really well written; the pacing was perfect and kept me on the edge of my seat! Highly recommend!!! I’m voluntarily reviewing from an advanced copy that I received. My review is solely based on my thoughts and opinions.
This beautiful book shows that bad things can happen to good people, it's sad at times, but good souls meet and love starts to flow and they learn that family is built by bonds of love and acceptance and not by blood and obligation! Hendrick is a wonderful boy, just like Lamar and Laurent! And he still has Ian and Adelia who are charming, sweet characters with painful pasts but still kind and strong and capable of love!! Other amazing characters too that will definitely appear in future books, I can't wait to meet them again! "the younger of the three boys let out a soft, content sigh, cocooned in Laurent’s and Lamar’s safe, protective arms. This is what love looks like , Hendrick thought, a serene smile playing on his lips as he drifted asleep"5⭐
Oh my! This is an astounding blend of characters who are black and shades of grey. There are clear villains, and no one can give you a villain you hate as well as H.M. Wolfe, but the twins here are a fascinating blend of shades of grey. Just when you think you have them pegged, things shift like fog and you get a different perspective. Hendrick himself had a bit of The Man in the Iron Mask vibe for me and that's what initially drew me to this story. The language, the multiple POVs, the complicated characters were even better than I expected. Wolfe has stretched the writing muscles here and reached a new level.
THE KINGMAKER'S SONS is becoming a very must read series in a hurry. This is Book #2 and the anticipation for Book #3 has already taken hold. Laurent, Lamar and Hendrick have secured there place. More intrigue is on the horizon. All matters related in this Book are accompanied by a MAGNIFICENT epilogue. H.M. WOLFE has a unique talent for laying the groundwork for upcoming intrigue without making the Book your reading suffer. I have loved every Book that has this name on it and look forward to this Author's growth into the future. OUTSTANDING BOOK. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THE KINGMAKER'S SONS SERIES!!!!!!!!!!
Love this book just like all the other books this author writes,,, This book is about a boy who had a hard life because of a bad family, but not all bad his good brother Lars is a good guy and gets his brother Hendrick out of the house and into the right set of brothers that are going to mean more to Hendrick and so many more people that are going to come together .Adelia plays an important role in this book also....i can't wait to read the next book in this new series ..I read this book for this author for my honest opinion
Could we please have a few more characters whose name start with L? Lars Laure Lamar Lucas Louisa Lamont Laurent I feel like Elliot should get an honorable mention too. A few more POVs to get mixed in with an omniscient narration.
This author just isn’t for me. I wanted to learn about Hendrick and his relationship with the twins. Even the other story drama was interesting but when I have to sift the story out of “the blond/reddish-blond/brunet” or “youth/teen/boy” “the man/husband” descriptors it just starts to feel so tedious.
Hendrick was born of infidelity and deceit. Born to be used he was tortured and abused by those who were supposed to love and protect him. At nine he was locked up and when not at school his family forced him into humiliating therapy . One sibling paid to have him killed and one paid to keep him alive and cared for. When he finally finds love in a unexpected place an evil villain threatens everything.

What can I say other than I love this authors books and I am always excited to read them. There is great love, amazing chemistry and nail biting, seat of your pants action. What makes it so exciting is how they overcome adversity to be with those they love. I highly recommend this book as you will not be disappointed.
A book filled with beautiful, broken boys and the men who help save them. Some families are just evil. Hendrick is abused his whole life. He is rescued by the boy hired to kill him. The boy and his twin save Hendrick and teach him true caring. Along with two of their friends and the men determined to stop such evil, they will all learn about true family. I love the world this author has created.
Absolutely brilliant, loved the book and I love love this series. The characters are well thought out and the storyline is as you would expect from the author absolutely Riveting so much so you can’t put them down. Highly recommended 5stars
