The city of Shinar is full of strange and mysterious oddities, but none so great as the cursed black bag of Leonard Bravecci. Well, that is, of course, with the exception of the man himself.
When the disgraced inventor returns from exile, the people of Shinar are quick to rebuke him. A lifetime would not be long enough to forget Leonard’s sins, and many have already lost their lives in trying to right his wrongs. From the spread of the Sweller's Disease to the burning of The Prometheus Building and all those inside, Leonard is a walking reminder, a nightmare that cannot be woken from these past fifteen years.
But where the townspeople only see the survivor of this massacre, Pooka, a desperate con artist, sees potential.
Even if Leonard is the killer the town claims him to be, Pooka would be a fool not to capitalize on the man's misfortune. What is one man's failure if not another's chance to succeed? And besides, killers are the least of the con man's problems.

A mysterious world...magical characters
I would recommend this book for anyone who appreciates mysterious worlds and magical characters. The descriptions are concise and yet complicated. Some of these characters will definitely be remembered long after the final page is turned. Looking forward to the author's next novel!!!

It's been a long time since I have connected with characters this much. This book has a depth to its plot and characters that gave me such a sense of fulfillment throughout reading the story. Long as it is, I was sad when it came time to read the last page.

Great book
It's a pleasure to read, and has well developed characters. It's also nice to have some female characters in a science fiction book. Really looking forward to the next book!
