Eingeschneit

Good standalone reverse-harem

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌎
Character development: 😟🤭☺️😘

The heroine: Allison - two months ago she broke up with her boyfriend of ten months, and she is still getting over it. Allie is a CPA for an accounting firm, and it is two weeks from April 15. So, her office has been super busy, and she has been working sixteen-hour days and probably will continue to do so for the next two weeks. Her coworker has been trying to set Allie up with one of her clients so she can get over her ex by getting under someone new.

The Heroes: Hunter, Justin and Chase - Hunter is a bestselling author and a client of Ingram and Holloway, Allie’s accounting firm, though his CPA is her friend. He recently got out of a long-term relationship and hasn’t been on a first date in three years. He isn’t looking for anything serious but agrees to go out with Allison. Justin is a nice guy, a big handsome ginger, and he is Hunter’s editor. Chase can be abrasive; he is ruggedly handsome with black hair and a beard. He is Hunter’s agent/manager.

The Story: - Hunter and Allie decide to treat the date as two friends going out for dinner, so they immediately start by telling each other about their exes and their relationship experiences. Hunter had been with his ex-Veronica for three years, but they lost the spark after the first year and found they didn’t really like each other, but ended up staying together another two years, often fighting about everything. Allie, on the other hand, had dated Peter for ten months and he was a narcissist and a selfish jerk, but Allie was too cowardly to end things, especially because everyone else loved him.

Hunter and Allie commiserated with each other and found they had a lot in common and genuinely liked each other. It turns out that Hunter has been suffering from writer's block and plans to go to a mountain cabin about ten miles away with just his editor and manager to try to work on his next project. When they leave the restaurant, Hunter can’t get an Uber, so Allie offers to drive him to his cabin. She ends up staying the night and a snowstorm comes overnight and she is stuck there.

I picked this book up basically because I read Snowbound, another reverse-harem by Cassie Cole that I really enjoyed and this one seemed quite similar. I also read a few of her other books and loved that she has good stories with steamy intimate scenes which aren’t too smutty. I like a book to focus more on the story and have the intimate scenes add to the story instead of having them there for smut value. Though there is nothing wrong with some good smut now and then. The story in this book wasn’t quite as good as Snowbound but it was still a good one and I liked the relationships Allie had with each of the guys.

This quick and steamy read was my first book by this author and, unfortunately, it was just okay. Reverse harems are a hit or miss for me and this one ended up being a miss. :(

It might’ve been the mood I was in, but I didn’t enjoy this as much as I’d hoped. I had trouble connecting with any of the characters. And I didn’t care for one of the guys until the last part of the book, and even then, he wasn’t all that likable to me.

Sadly, I didn’t catch any feelings while reading this. Was it the story? That’s part of it. Was it the characters? Pretty sure, yes. Also, there were some awkward words used during steamy scenes kinda threw me off, but that’s just my personal opinion.

Although there were some parts I did enjoy, unfortunately, there weren’t enough for me to give a higher rating. This got plenty of good reviews, so it just may work for you.

p.s. I felt exclamation marks were used a little too often throughout the story! Especially when they didn’t need to be!

DNF @ 57%.. I’ve liked Cassie Cole’s books in the past, but then again that was when I first started reading romance so idk if they would hold up now. This was so boring and the dialogue was insanely cheesy and weirdly non-sexy, for example:
“Stay right there,” she commanded, putting a hand on my chest to emphasize the point. She stood and slipped out of her pajama bottoms, then her panties. In the glow of the fire she struck a pose, voluptuous and brimming with sexuality.

Then she turned around and sat on my face.

“Ohh,” I moaned with surprise, then elation.

😂 I’m sorry but that made me laugh out loud and that’s when I knew I had to call it. The fact that I DNF-ed this about a month ago but can remember this specific scene to find it and quote it is just.. 🤣

I received this ARC via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an honest review. As I’ve said before, I always give honest reviews whether people appreciate them or not.

It’s a few weeks before Tax Day and Allison and her co-worker Julie are complaining about getting a Corporate e-mail instructing all the employees to take their work home with them so as to insure it all gets finished. The girls are CPA’s and work in an accounting firm in Asheville, North Carolina and apparently there going to be a snowstorm hitting the city. Allison is getting over a breakup and Julie convinces her to go on a blind date with Hunter, a client of Julie’s. Hunter is an author suffering from writer's block due to a past breakup, so the two agree to keep things casual. Yes, I just snorted and rolled my eyes.

Allison gives him a ride up the mountain after their date and things get a little hot and heavy. The next morning, she wakes up too late to leave and seems to be stuck. She meets his two friends: Justin is his editor and Chase is his manager, agent and Graphics Designer. Well, as you all can imagine, lots of things can happen when four people are trapped up a mountain during a freak snowstorm with no way of going for or contacting help.

I have to say that as a child raised in a conservative household, part of me is thinking 'Oh! that's so wrong' while the teenager in me thinks. Wow!'...Of course, as an adult all I can think is 'You go girl'! While Allison is intelligent enough to be a CPA, she’s also a sometime idiot. At least twice I wasn’t sure if I liked her or just wanted to slap her and tell her to get a grip. I enjoyed the relationship between the men since they’ve been friends for years, but I loved what Allison brought to the table too! Yes, Hunter got through his writer’s block.

I eagerly devoured this book! I was sucked in early and couldn't put it down! Once it ended, I wished there had been more... and thankfully there was a bonus epilogue but these four just got under my skin and I don't want to see them go.

What started out as a blind date turned new friends hanging out turned one-night stand finds Allison stuck in the middle of nowhere with three guys. Things are hot and cold with Hunter, Justin, and Chase but really they're super hot. Best way to keep warm is shared body heat, right? Such a fun read! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

2.5

This was one of Cassie’s weaker works. I’m not sure if my rating is fair, the book was *fine*, it just really didn’t inspire anything in me. I didn’t really like any of the characters all that much at first, and I can’t say I was particularly charmed by any of them even by the end. They were all kinda bland and one dimensional, I definitely could have seen myself warming up to them had they had time to be developed. There wasn’t really any reason for these people to like each other outside of sexual attraction. Chase is the biggest example. He didn’t like her at all (apart from calling her attractive) and yet suddenly he’s being involved in a random threesome and they’re in love?? Huh??

Oh well, this was alright but I definitely would have liked more to it.

A snowy, steamy adventure set in the mountains. An author needs inspiration and gets more than he bargained for in a blind date , so do his 2 friends.

You know when you’re reading a book and it feels like it takes FOR FUCKING EVER to finish? That was me with this. My first RH and probably my last? It was just so over the top. Maybe I’ve outgrown gratuitous sex scenes? Maybe sub 300 pages is just not long enough for four characters? Idk. Kind of wish I DNF this one.

It started out a bit slow but started to get better… until the spicy scenes. Cringe. The sexual chemistry between the 4 of them was okay but I didn’t see anything more than that.

Didn’t really care for the drama with her job. Or any of the characters to be perfectly honest.

She was in a blizzard of ecstacy
This book is about Allison, Hunter, Justin and Chase. Allison works for a tax accounting firm. She’s been pulling 16-hour work days because it’s been so busy with tax day quickly approaching. Her boss has urged everyone to take their laptops and paperwork home in case the incoming, inclement weather closes down the city.
Allison doesn’t mind the workload as it provides a good distraction from what would have been her upcoming anniversary with her ex. Her friend Julie told her that the best way to get over one guy is to get under the next one! She also tries to set her up with a client, Hunter, that has also recently endured a break-up. Allison is quick to point out that “two emotionally-scarred people don’t cancel out like a debit and a credit.” She admits that he’s sizzling-hot, but finds other endearing qualities more important. But it may be worth a try.
They meet for dinner and drinks and get on really well. They talk (b1tch) about their exes and what happened with those relationships, and their work. He’s a writer, and tells her that he’s leaving after dinner to head up to a mountain cabin to try to get some writing done for his next book. This sparks her interest, and their conversation goes off on other tangents, as it’s a shared interest.
After they finish up at the restaurant, Hunter waits for a lift but the wait is ridiculously long. Allison offers to drive him up to the cabin. When she’s ready to leave, he admits he’d like her to stay. He is very attracted to her, and senses a strong intellectual and emotional chemistry between them. As they kiss, their passion and hunger for each other grows. So much for just being friends!
When Hunter gets too busy with his writing – thanks to his new muse Allison, he offers up her friends to help ‘scratch the itch’ she must have. These interludes are incredibly hot and steamy and passionate too. This girl must be in lust heaven! She has every one of her fantasies, and any new ones, brought to life in full technicolour enjoyment! And that game of Twister had me giggling AND blushing!
There were also some dramas and temporary setbacks. But this small group quickly got back on track, as they explore their feelings and the magnetic attraction that is undeniably strong and HOT AF! I also enjoyed the bonus scene epilogue. It was great to catch up with them a year down the track. However, I was sad to see the story end so abruptly too. I’d love to know what they’re all up to down the track… I give this entertaining book four and a half snowy stars.

I decided to try another RH by Cassie Cole pretty much straight on the heels of Unwrapped, which was a cute story with potential. This one, not so much. The blurb sounded amazing but I didn't really enjoy any aspect of this one.

I had a hard time connecting with Allison, she came off as stupid and whiny, two traits I abhor in my heroines. Of course, these traits are what lead us to the set up of the book so I can forgive it a little bit, but the persistence was really trying.

We start out of the gate with a blind date with Hunter, a best-selling author with writer's block, that leads to a really promising one-night stand (are they ever really one-night though), unfortunately that's where the story peaks for me.

Hunter became inspired by his muse and barely pays any attention to her for the rest of the book, he faded into the background for me and I never really connected with him. His friends/business partners, Justin and Chase are left to entertain Allison. Justin I really liked and enjoyed reading about, maybe more that Hunter, who seemed to be the favored partner for Allison (I prefer my RH without a clear favourite). Chase? No. There's abrasive, rough, redeemable cavemen and then there are assholes, jerks, dicks and he was definitely the latter. I know that's not what the author was going for but that's how she wrote him.

The entire "oh, no, I'm a CPA stuck on a mountain in a cabin during a forecasted snowstorm with three sexy men but if I don't get out of here I'm going to lose my job" subplot became really tired, really quickly and truthfully ruined the story. A better angle would have been freak snowstorm forecasted... skeptical CPA packs her files and laptop in the car and then sexytimes snowed in while able to keep up with her work ensue when she wakes up to snow. Instead I spent far too much time rolling my eyes and praying for some hot sex to save the book. At least it was over fast.

Give this one a pass or go in with low expectations and sense of suspended reality.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Allison, Hunter, Justin and Chase. Allison gets an email from her work telling them that they are supposed to get a huge snow storm and they need to take their work computers home. See Allison works as a CPA and it is almost April 15th. She does agree to one thing though and that is to go out on a blind date with a writer that her friend and coworker set her up on. She thinks it will be like all the others and a total waste of her time. However he and Hunter really hit it off. So much so that she agrees to drive him back to the cabin he is writing with his friends. See Hunter is a talented writer but has had a case of writers block for way to long. So his friends and managers have come to this remote cabin to hopefully break him out of his cycle of not being able to write. Allison has an effect on him like he never thought would happen. Not only does she do something for Hunter but for Justin and Chase as well. What happens though when that storm hits and she is unable to work? Will she have found a HEA she can't get anywhere else or is this just one of those what happens at the cabin stays at the cabin?

Amazing story by this author. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked form the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Hot Sex scenes, okay story

WARNING: SPOILERS!!!
A first date that turns into a week long snowed in situation with not just one hot man but THREE! This reverse haremm novel is one that starts out innocent enough and quickly turns into a very steamy situation. What would you do if you were snowed in, in the mountains with three men that each make your panties wet? Especially if you have already had a date with one of them and slept with him on your first date? Though this is not a realistic situation it is one that gets super interesting quickly, when the guy that you promised you wouldn't want anything serious with suggests that you have fun with his two friends things get slightly complicated. A story that has a little plot along with a lot of steamy sex scenes, this is one that is mainly read to get your juices flowing and you reving to get your partner alone or help yourself out. If you want a story that is pretty much all heat then this is a story for you, I give it a Chili Pepper on the pepper scale. This story is not for everyone, if you don't like the idea of multiple partners separately or at the same time this NOT one of the stories that you will enjoy. I give it a 3 out of 5 stars, the reason being that there isn't much of a plot and though the scenes are hot and make your toes curl I like a little more substance than this book gives me.
I hope this helps you find your next Tantalizing Tome!

Nothing beats a trip to the mountains for a great getaway together some writing done. This is what Hunter thought when he had writers block. He took his two best friends Chase and Justin with him. Hunter had just broken up with his longtime girlfriend or three years, he took his taxes in to his accountant who wanted to set him up with her best friend who had also just suffered from a relationship break up. Julie had just broken up with her boyfriend of almost 1 year and was talked into going on a blind date with Hunter who is an author.

What started off as a blind date turned into a night in the mountains, and because of a cold front that came through during the night Julie was trapped in the mountains because of a blizzard that had blocked the roads. The three friends and Julie became so close that they keep themselves warm by heating up the sheets of the beds and in front of the fire and anywhere that they could. When Julies job was threatened because her boss was not understanding, the three guys went with Julie to see her boss. The story as brilliant and fast paced. The characters were all loveable and very different from each other. If you are into reverse harem’s, this is your kind of book.

A wonderful story about Allison and what happens when she goes on a blind date set up by her friend Julie. Allison, a CPA, is busy working during the tax season when her friend hooks her up with a blind date to Hunter. When Allison meets Hunter there's a instant attraction but she doesn't realize that he's a famous writer of suspense thrillers. After the dinner date Allison offers to drive Hunter home instead of him waiting for a Uber. Hunter is renting a mountain cabin with no internet with his friends hoping the isolation will unlock his writer's block. They have a night of passion but during the night a blizzard starts. In the morning Allison wakes up and in a panic tries to drive to work and crashes her car into a tree. Hunter, Chase and Justin go to rescue her and begging for a ride to town they use Chase's car to try to drive her to work but the main road is blocked by fallen trees. Now Allison is stuck and her job is threaten because her boss is a taskmaster demanding all her employees work during their busy season. What happens in this story of Allison and the guys as they weather the freak blizzard was a enjoyable read with likable characters in a steamy reverse harem story I volunteer to read and review via booksprout.

Allison is a CPA and agrees to a blind date with Hunter as a break from the busy tax season. They hit it off and she ends up spending the night with him at the cabin he’s staying at.
Hunter is a bestselling author whose been in a writing slump. He finds that he’s been inspired by Allison and is on a writing roll.
A snowstorm hits and she’s stuck at the cabin in the mountains. Hunter is consumed by his writing so he encourages her to hangout with his editor and graphic designer who are in the cabin next door.

Justin is lighthearted and attractive and he and Allison hit it off as well. They end up acting on their attraction with Hunter’s blessing and Chase joins in.

Chase is super attractive but gruff. It takes a little longer for he and Allison to like each other but they clear the air.

The three men tell Allison that they’ve shared a woman before and she is happy to give it a try.

Hot scenes, a little awkward wording, stubbornness by Allison that made me want to flick her, but otherwise a quick and steamy read.

it was okay until it wasn’t

3 Guys (Author, Manager, and Editor) get stuck in a mountain cabin with the FMC (CPA, Sex-Positive, Confident) after she comes back with the author for a one-night stand.
The story was fine until Hunter gave me the ick.

**Spoilers**

He was already obsessed with writing which is fine but the way he shoves her off onto his friends made me wary. Then we find out the FMC looks like his ex and the blowup is dramatic between the two. Then she gets fired and hunter throws a self pity tantrum and risks everyone’s lives when he goes running off into the snow. I gave it another few pages but he seriously can’t come back from that. His reaction was so damn childish and annoying. So here I am DNFing at 85% with a sour taste in my mouth.
Also, the FMC is written to the male gaze (think p*rn star accountant fantasy) so form your own opinions if you want to read that.
Look I had low expectations. Smut is smut is smut but the idea is that the men are desirable and redeemable.
Alright I’ll get off my soap box now.

Yet again, another story by Cole that I absolutely enjoyed. I couldn’t put it down, perfect for curling up in the chair for the afternoon after grocery shopping and putting them away all morning, okay most of them are put away. I love her characters, they are so down to earth and relatable, they are human. The female lead seemed a little scatterbrained at the start but that cleared up. Each of the male leads were individual but worked well as a group. Watching these four people come together over being trapped in a snowstorm was quite fun but also made me happy I wasn’t there, I’d go a little crazy being cooped up like that. The plot was well thought out and flowed nicely as written.

I give this a five out of five stars. I loved the plot and the characters. I couldn’t put it down. Greatly turning into a major fan of Cassie Cole.

I enjoyed the idea of this book, but I couldn't really connect to the characters. Justin and Chase felt like accessories to me. I don't feel like I know much about them and they felt two-dimensional because of that lack of knowledge. Allison's relationship with both of them felt a bit contrived since I didn't feel that spark with them like she had with Hunter.

Hunter was a gem, though! I connected so well with him on a writing standpoint and I loved how intelligent and witty he was. I really liked him as a character; he brought the story to life in ways that the others failed at. However, I wish that his relationship with Allison would've been deeper. They shared a lot of sex, but I wanted more of the emotions and the bonding. Their relationship seemed a little shallow to me in contrast to what I think it could've been if they had bonded a bit more.

All in all, the book was okay but I just didn't get on with most of the characters as much as I wanted to.

Allison was a CPA in Ashville, North Carolina, and it was two weeks before April 15th. They were calling for a record snowfall and the boss had warned everyone to take their laptops home and to be prepared to work from home. Allison gets herself talked into a blind date that ends her upon Mt Mitchell snowed in with no phone or internet coverage. The snow does not stop and a second storm was on the way. She was stuck with three gorgeous men, when things kept going wrong. The batteries on the solar panels quit working, the hose on the backup generator leaked the propane all out, and now they was freezing with no way off the mountain. They all felt bad for making Allison loose her job. What were they going to do? This was one steamy hot book

Allison works for an accounting/tax firm and is busy working on people's taxes. A friend sets her up with Hunter and they hit it off and she ends up giving him a ride home. He was staying in a cabin on the mountain and she ends up stuck on there with him and his friends after she spends a heated night with Hunter. A snowstorm stops her from returning home. Its not long before she is introduced to Justin and Chase Hunter's friends that are with him on his trip. Sparks fly between all of them and soon they are exploring things between them. Will she have a job when she gets back? Is this something serious between them?

This is a steamy story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I really did not like this book, it just was not for me at all.  I think after trying a few books, that I really do not like the reverse harem concept and I should just stay far away from those books because I don't enjoy them.  I think another thing I realized from trying out different books is that I really love romance books but straight up erotica isn't really my thing.  I enjoy it when there are sex scenes or steamy scenes mixed in my romance books but when sex becomes the plot of the book I don't like it.  Also, personally I'm not really a fan of anal stuff in the smutty books I read and that was basically every sex scene in the book.  Also on top of not enjoying the smut in the book, I found Allison really irritating honestly.  Overall, I think I'm going to stay far away from books like this in the future.

Enjoyable story. Loved the storyline and the characters were very interesting. There is heat, fears, tears, intrigue, steam, laughter. Allison is stuck in a cabin with a blind date two weeks before tax deadline of April 15th. Allison friend Julie talks her into going on a blind date with a friend of hers named Hunter. Hunter is staying at a cabin and his two friends are staying in a larger cabin next door. Hunter and Allison hit it off and they end up back at his cabin. A blizzard hits during the night and she can't get back into town. She tries but ends up in an accident. That's when she meets the other two friends of Hunters and all three get together. High steam and a great HEA. I received an ARC copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Adult snow days and nights ..... So hot it melts the snow

Frostbitten is an enjoyable RH story that will warm more than your heart on a snowy winters night. The story is about Allison, Hunter, Chase and Justin. Let's just say that Allison, a CPA, finds some major stress-relief as Tax Day looms close, her workload gets bigger and a snowstorm hits which means she is stuck in the woods.
This book will make you want to be snowed in just so you can curl up and get warmed up without having to sit by a fire. This story-line is entertaining and the characters are all nice with super hot chemistry and majorly sizzling sexy scenes.

April Snow Brings 4 stars. - There is something about Allison’s stress with being stuck in the cabin with Hunter, Justin and Chase that feels realistic. For an accountant, it is definitely not the best time to not have your files in your laptop, not have wifi nor cellphone signal. I find Hunter’s character to be selfish while Justin is giving and Chase is aloof. There is a lot of steam but to me, the three guys did not really make a deeper connection with Allison. Yes, they have shared experiences and forced by mother nature to spend time together but it could use a bit more emotional connection. The ending is a bit convenient but overall, the book is a good night time read. [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]

That is a phrase i would put to this story. Allison met Hunter on a kinda blind date. His publisher and manager are his good friends. They left him in the city as he took care of business meetings and such. He needed a ride home. There was winter advisory about a possible blizzard. Both didn’t believe it. Having writers block he has sequestered him elf in a separate cabin from his friends to break the writer’s block. Well....after a non date steamy encounter, Allison is stuck and totaled her car in the woods when she foolishly tried to return. So after a couple of nonchalant comments and his need to write, he leaves her to her own devices. So Sharing is caring. No cliffhanger

A MENAGE FOR A HOT APPETITE

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review

A steamy novel about a woman who has just broken up with her boyfriend of about a year and a man who has broken up with his girlfriend of three years. They hit it off and with the warning of a snowstorm approaching, that she ignores, they go to his cabin only to be snowed in. Neither wants a relationship but will make do with sex. After a harrowing experience, being ignored, making a friend, self-recrimination and a fight, things get hot and heavy between the four of them.

This book delves into some deep sexual habits and leaves the reader wanting more.
